The facilities are clean and well kept. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy in and out. HOWEVER, we would NOT recommend them. We specifically got our unit because of the price. It was the best price around. I asked a lot of questions to make sure it was not just a short term special price. I was told it was the set price for those size units to get them rented. We rented our unit for $77/mo. Within 4 months the price jumped to $114/mo. I have rented units before with other companieds and I realize that prices go up, but usually bit by bit. This is a HUGE jump and I am very disappointed with them. ONE NOTE- the location I go to on Centennial Blvd in Colorado Springs is managed by an absolutely wonderful and caring person- Pamela. She is great. She even contatcted them to get a rate reduction after the increase. No such luck. Corporate is not upfront and honest. If I did not have my unit totally full, I would move out. They increase the rates on you significantly. I ended up paying 174 bucks for a 5x10 .... When all star storage is $74 and does not increase their rates. Also I wanted to move out by the 10th but it's in the contract you have to pay for the full month. I think it's unfair they do that to their customers. Customer Service is absolutely amazing I have not had any issues or problems from the people that work at the building. Any issue that I have had the staff responded rapidly and were quick to help resolve the issue. My quarrel is with the rates charged. My rate has increased nearly $100 in the past 2 months which is absolutely ridiculous. I am US Military and deployed out of country for the past 11 months. The only reason I have not pulled my stuff out of storage is because I will not return for another 4 months. I will never rent with Public's Storage again. read more

I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the service I've received at public storage. my rates have increased by at least $20 every 6 months since renting in 2022. when I contacted the company, I was told by the representative that they offer no discount for first responders, and they would not adjust any rates. $148 per month is ridiculous for the small space I rent from them, I am beyond frustrated with the response I received and the unwillingness to aid any member that serves their community. I will be taking my business elsewhere and ensuring all first responders in my community are aware what crooked operation they are running. read more

There's a Public Storage and a U-Haul right next to each other on Powers. I made a reservation at the U-Haul because I had forgotten about the Public Storage. When we arrived at U-Haul we were ignored except for a mumbled "be with you in a minute" so we took the time to look over their storage unit size display. At this point I realized that I was about to pay $70/ month for a closet! (5x5) I decided to quickly look up the prices at Public Storage, since it didn't look like we were going to be helped any time soon. (I'm not angry that we had to wait, people are busy, but as a customer service person myself, I was frustrated by the lack of greeting) Much to my surprise the 10x10 was LESS EXPENSIVE than the 5x5 at U-Haul! We immediately left and headed up the street to the Public Storage. While we were driving I started filling out the online reservation and within 1 minute my phone rang. It was them! I haven't even filled out all the info yet! She asked when we're heading over and when I said "right now" she said great! She was already looking for an open unit for us and she would be ready when we got there. We walked in less than a minute later, and she was ready to go. She offered to show us the three units she had available and let us choose which one we wanted. She brought the lock with her and fixed us right up when we picked out the one we wanted. We followed her back to the office where she finished setting us up. This is where the Company really impressed me! 1) The 1st month only cost $1! 2) She gave me 2 options for paying- for 30 days OR through the end of May (I liked this because she let me choose and because the price barely changed) 3) Once I paid she asked if I wanted to set up for monthly payments and when I said yes all she had to do was push a button and it automatically set me up! No going online to set up an account and enter payment info, it was just done! 4) Same way with the account set up! All I had to do was select a password and it was done! The whole process was SO EASY! All in all, this was an amazing experience! It's hard when you're moving! There's so much on your mind and this process took so much of the pressure of of me, while still giving me choices! 100% would recommend! On another note, it took me 3 phone calls to cancel my reservation at U-Haul. read more

I rented a storage unit from this facility. It was very easy to accomplish. I have never rented a storage unit before so a first for me. My husband and I just need to store some items for a short period. We were greeted by Rolland O. and Jamie. We filled out all the necessary paperwork and then were taken to the unit. We were very happy as we did not have to change to a smaller or larger unit it was just right for our needs. We both appreciated the time spent with us. It was a quick and easy process for us. It took just a couple of hours to move the things we had to store. The unit was clean and so was the facility. We especially like the security cameras and the fact that there are people living on sight. If I need to have storage again after this is over, I will come here. First time ever using public storage. I called them and a nice employee assisted me in registering and then emailing me my information for the storage unit. Exactly as he said 5x5 9'high. I just want to say this is the great HASSLE Free storage place. Unlike the Uhaul down the street they actually reserve the unit you reserve. Very clean and dry unit even with afternoon thunderstorms. Jennifer was very helpful to answer any questions i would definitely recommend public storage to anyone especially over Uhaul units. read more

Fantastic service! Received a phone call to schedule a tour of a storage unit FIRST THING the next business day! Leanne was helpful, courteous and answered my many questions thoroughly. When I arrived at the office for my scheduled appointment and tour, she went over all of my size and price options, as well as any additional fees or expenses that we might incur. I found the facility to be clean, very well lit, monitored closely by security cameras and extremely secure. The indoor units are climate controlled, which was a great relief as we are storing some furniture and delicate items. Leanne and Pam went above and beyond to answer our questions and make us feel like we were welcome... we were not forced into buying any "mandatory" Insurance (our insurance company provides it) however it was good to know that we could get additional coverage if we chose to. Our first months rent was $1. Other than purchasing a very secure lock (which is meant to fit their type of doors and is relatively tamperproof) we incurred a few dollars worth of administrative fees (to set up auto pay each month for our rent). The fees were reasonable and exactly what we were told they would be, and we got an extremely good deal on a unit that holds our belongings perfectly. I would recommend this location to friends and family, and I feel at ease having my things secured at this location. Thank you Leeanne and Pam for a wonderful experience! Update 1/23/18 Received a notice that our rent was going up, from 59$ to 68$ I understand overhead and admin costs... but we have only had our things here for 6 months, and the rent goes up nearly 20%. I called the actual location and they told me they had no control over pricing. I've been called the corporate office and was told these were regular administrative fees due to heating and electric costs. I am willing to leave our things here for another six months and see what happens.... but every few months the price for a basic 5 x 10' unit is going to go up 20% then I think I'd rather take my chances elsewhere. Sorry Public Storage....your 5 stars from six months ago just dropped to 3. Definitely not a good customer service practice, and you are dangerously close to losing a good customer if the rates rise again. read more

Kind of over-priced; they charge $50 for a 5X5 space. After "Administrative Fees" and "Mandatory Insurance," it cost even more. The units are inside but have cement flooring - putting your boxes and bags at risk to moisture, mildew and bad smells. Security looks okay but the neighborhood is questionable. The staff was very pleasant, helpful and efficient. However towards the end they begged us to give them five stars which felt off-putting. Make of it what you will. read more

First of all, Jennifer was efficient and courteous in finding a good unit, showing the unit, and processing the rental agreement. At that point, she had a 5 star review. I will say there are many hidden costs, and the $1 first month's rent basically hides most of those. The monthly rent is also higher due to costs that are not mentioned until you're actually going through the rental agreement. I understand administrative costs, I just prefer them to be upfront, not hidden. This is the third time I've used a storage unit, and with the other companies, "what you see is what you get." The hidden costs were annoying, but what really upset me was the lack of the hand truck--which was shown during the initial tour. "It's always right here." When I moved in, Jennifer and the other employee knew who was the last customer to use the cart, but said nothing. It turned out that other customer and her husband "accidentally" locked the only existing moving cart in their unit, arrived half-hour later and moved all their own things first--of course. I told the couple that hiding the hand truck from other customers just so they didn't have to wait when they returned for a second load really wasn't acceptable. They then proceeded to try to intimidate me with dirty looks and glares while they moved all their things with the hand cart, then tossed off a flippant "sorry" as they drove away 45 minutes later. Jennifer knew where that hand truck was, but did nothing. I am a small, 61 year old woman, and moving 15 30-40 # boxes about 200 feet because some bullies kept the only equipment for themselves did not make me happy. I'd moved 15 heavy boxes a couple hundred feet without the benefit of the hand truck. When I complained, Jennifer informed me that the people had moved out and "came into the office to apologize for keeping the hand truck." Big whoop. Bring your own equipment, because this company won't provide adequate equipment, and they won't protect you from bullies, either. I will never use Public Storage again. read more

So, I've been a customer of this PS site for almost 6 years now. Primarily, I would say this is a nice site. It is clean and for the most part the staff is helpful. However, the staff turns over frequently, and the price goes up 2-3 times a year. So, if you can figure out how to lock in your rates, I would recommend them. If not, head to uHaul for climate controlled storage...they appreciate your business and don't raise their rates every quarter. read more
