Came back to Pubbelly in a return trip to Miami.... An otherwise awesome experience in Service (Thanks María), and delicious food and Sake was converted by management into a Shi@ Show for charging an UNDISCLOSED $2.99 fee for paying using a QR Code they display on the tables. This is predatory and abusive; it's not about $2.99, is the HOW they do it; disrespecting the customer.... No wonder an otherwise excellent place is empty on a Friday early evening... Deceitful management, this is on you. Why...? For $3 damage your brand and otherwise excellent reputation...? So Sad. read more

Plainly stated, this place is a waste of excellent retail space! Our regular sushi spot was closed for renovations so we decided to give this place a shot. What a waste of money and especially our time. The sushi here is barely gas station quality, the prices are super inflated and the service was slower than a sloth in a coma. I was shocked at how bad the quality and appearance of the rolls were. I say this honestly; consumers please stay away so this place can tank and something with potential can take over. A true true disappointment. read more

Not sure how they are still open with all the great food around. No one is in there on a Thursday evening. sooo many items with "truffle oil" which is so outdated. But Pork belly bao bun app was good and I thought maybe this place is on the uphill and trying to come back. Got the nigiri chefs choice and a "wagyu" roll and a rock shrimp roll. The rice is not up to standard at all and the rolls did have that reminiscing of grocery store. Not high quality. Not into truffle like this and some pieces had bad avocado. Also super expensive! Tiny glasses of cheap sake for a premium. I truly hate giving a poor review but it's highway robbery here. Just go next door. read more

Having had Pubbelly Sushi recommended by a couple of our friends, my boyfriend and I decided to try it! As it was a rainy day we ordered it for pickup and the service was great it was ready for the exact time we set up the pickup. The ambiance of the restaurant when I walked in was nice. It was quiet, dark, intimate, perfect for a date night. Our sushi was very fresh and tasted delicious! We also signed up for their rewards program since we liked it so much! We will definitely be eating at Pubbelly again! read more

Miami is a place of culture and people and food. You cannot go wrong on that. And, at times, you find a special place that is just off the main road but near everything else you can find. Staying a few blocks away I had to find a place to eat and walked outside. A few blocks away I walked into Pubbelly Sushi. It was totally different. A combination of Japanese and South American cuisine is an interesting combination. Of course, with the Che who has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation, it is no wonder. He truly can create what we do eat. It is an experience. And, having lived in Japan, it is always different to see what others take from it. This was special. Come before 7pm and there is a Happy Hour which is nice for cocktails, but even better for food combinations you can have in replace f a full meal. You can try a bit for everything to see what is new and different and a perfect compliment. There would be a piece of Tuna Sushi but it is topped on a friend piece of Japanese rice. It sounds different but the taste is special. This alone would have been a great meal. So we tried that. We also had a bun which is typical in Japan, but in this case it was filled with a slice of Pork Belly that was grilled just fine and placed inside with sauce and spice. The bun itself was nice, but filled it was better. Again, this could have been a meal. Naturally had to have to skewers with chicken and pork. A nice compliment. Also had to have a bowl of what we consider Poke Bowl. This time it was fried rice with spice and mixed with vegetables, pork belly and even peas. There was even a fried egg on top. Very typical in Japan. That was a true different flavorful. Overall the meal is exciting to have. The staff is great. The bartender does know how to make a good cocktail. As for the Chef and the team, our compliments. It was a great place to stop and experience. It was a unique combination of two cultures that created something we all can accept. Domo / Gracias. read more

Ok so this is probably my favorite spot in Miami for Sushi. Everything on the menu is fresh and delicious and everyone I have recommended it to has thanked me. They also have some nice cocktails and a Happy Hour menu. I would highly recommend you try Pubbelly Sushi. We were in for dinner on Sunday night and ordered two appetizers - the Edamame and the Tuna Tartare which comes with seaweed chips - super fresh and yummy. I have been wanting to try their wings which I heard were really good so I ordered the Korean Wings. Cooked perfectly (crispy) and very tasty! My wife had the Tempura Roll which she has been wanting to try (she always gets the Butter Crab Roll). She really liked it but admitted the former is her favorite Roll of any sushi place so she'll get that again next time. My son raved about the Sake Aburi. He loved it. And my young daughter always gets the Kids' California (Roll) Box which she loves. We had Cocktails: Tokyo Mule (nice!), Prosecco and my son had a Kirin Ichiban (Japanese Beer). The dessert menu is a bit limited *but* we shared one of the best desserts I've had. GET THE MISO BREAD PUDDING! You wouldn't think a Sushi place would have good bread pudding but this one is delicious... comes with Miso Ice Cream topping (so good! Trust me!) And sweet sesame crisps. Get it and thank me! See pics of our great dinner at Pubbelly. Also - service was good. read more

Absolutely LOVE the food & cocktails @Pubbelly! Super consistent & super delicious. My friend & I popped in for dinner recently. Our lovely, fantastic, wonderful waitress, Gaby treated us like we were longtime friends & we were loving it! Since my friend had never been, she allowed me to take the reins on ordering: - SHIITAKE BAO BUNS: The mushrooms were really flavourful & total umami bomb! The bun could have been fresher. Was soft on one side & kinda tough on the other. - BUTTER CRAB ROLL (of course!): Always perfect & always delicious! And the ponzu/melted butter dipping sauce takes it over the top! - SAKE ABURI ROLL: YUMMM! - HOT SUMMER ROLL: also YUMMM with a spicy kick at the end! My friend had a beer & I chose the WATERMELON BASIL MARGARITA. Unfortunately, when i took my first sip, literally all I could taste was juice. I mentioned this to the bartender & he assured me there was the right amount required for the drink. Whatever... was not in the mood to argue and walked back to my table sippin' my watermelon juice. Just then, Gaby appeared to save the day! "You don't like the drink?" I responded that it just tasted like pure juice. "I'm gonna fix this for you". I told her it was no biggie & nog to worry about it but she would NOT be deterred. 2 minutes later, she was back with a brand new (perfectly strong!) cocktail PLUS an extra shot of tequila on the side, no charge. I could not have been happier. HOORAY FOR ANGELS ON EARTH LIKE GABY! read more

From what I ate before to now I can only say the food choices have diminished and I was sad to share with my family. There was no pork belly bow, even though I saw bow at another table behind me. The rolls were much more condensed and smaller. My family wanted more but at what cost when they can get more for their dollar at other restaurants. Totally disappointed that all the orgasmic desserts were no longer available and there was just different flavor ice creams. read more

This spot has the best buttered crab roll I've ever had. Each piece is chunky!! It comes with the butter sauce on the side, you dip each roll into the butter and my goodness it just melts in your mouth. I come here at least once a month to enjoy this perfection of a roll. The service is always great. The food comes out extremely fast imo. They also have a great happy hour Monday through Friday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The coconut lychee martini is my absolute favorite. If you haven't had Pubbelly, I suggest you check them out. This location is right across from Dadeland and I prefer this spot compared to the one in downtown. There's an underground parking garage, you can also get your parking ticket validated. read more

Extremely disappointed and honestly disgusted with our experience here. My girlfriend and I came in for dinner, and by the next day we were both violently ill -- vomiting and diarrhea for hours. What makes this even worse is that we didn't order the same thing: I had the pork gyozas, she had sushi. Two different dishes, same result. That's not a coincidence, that's a food safety problem. For a restaurant charging what they do, there is no excuse for this. We trusted this place with a nice dinner out and ended up sick for an entire day. I won't be coming back, and I'd think twice before trusting the kitchen here at all. Do better. read more

I had dinner here with hubby and kiddo. Our server was fantastic. She had a great attitude, was just chatty enough, and was helpful. We got there during happy hour so got lots of apps to start. We had the edamame (not the spicy one, so that kiddo could enjoy), korean wings, shitake bao bun, and pork belly bao bun. All were yummy. I had the rockshrimp tempura roll which I liked. Hubby got the crispy salmon roll. He was expecting the salmon to be crispy, and didn't realize the whole roll would be crispy, so it wasn't his favorite, but he still liked it. Kiddo got the chicken box with udon noodles and he loved it. I would definitely come back. read more

I ordered takeout from Pubbelly Sushi for a friend of mine, and honestly, it reminded me why this place never misses. She always craves the Big Eye Tuna Roll, and for good reason the combination of the tuna on top and that crispy rice just hits every time. The textures alone make it worth ordering again and again. I also ordered the Korean chicken wings, and wow those were amazing. The flavor was perfectly balanced enough seasoning and sauce to be super satisfying without feeling overly heavy. It had a nice kick to it too, just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting and leave you feeling satisfied, not stuffed. For myself, I went with the Dragon Roll, which is my all-time favorite here and always consistent. The only thing I wish I had done differently was adding extra spicy mayo (or that special mayo) to the Big Eye Tuna Roll it would've taken it to the next level. Overall, everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. Pubbelly Sushi is one of those places you can rely on whether you're dining in or taking food to go. read more

This place is just great every single time. Their creations and flavors knock it out of the park. Everything moves as it's made and is fresh. I recommend the shishito peppers and bigeye tuna. I was expecting so much more from this restaurant after sitting down and looking at the menu. The menu is concrete and full of many delicious choices, however once the food comes and you taste it, it is underwhelming. The place has a very chill ambiance and low-key great for drinks and small bites. The service was great. I came Sunday for lunch and there was no wait and our waitress was very attentive with us. See what we ordered below and our rating: Food: -Porkbelly Baos: 3 out of 5 Stars -Shortrib and Truffle Dumplings: 3 out of Stars (The portion is so small). -Rockshrimp Tempura: 5 out of 5 Stars -Truffle Corn: 4 out of 5 Stars -Two Timing Tuna Roll: 1 out of 5 Stars (The tuna had no flavor. This roll was so bland.) My biggest takeaway from eating here is that the food does not match the price. The food is good but nothing out of this world. The food left me wanting more and the price was too high for what was served. read more

This is my go to for a quick upscale, Japanese & Latin infusion sushi restaurant. Their tuna pizza lives rent free in my head. Don't let the size of this quaint, cozy space fool you. Their dishes are bursting with flavor from the Kimchee fried rice, Wagyu Beef Tartare, the Coco Loco dessert and more are all top-notch. Even when I've had my food delivered from here, it never disappoints. The staff is always more than gracious and attentive when I've dined in. Whether it's a family get together, girl dinner, guy time and/or definitely a happy hour spot, you can never go wrong with their eccentric, yet 'something-for-everyone', appeases to the masses menu. read more

Another great year for Pubbelly Miami Spice! My only compliant is that they don't offer it on weekends! I love that they have a vegetarian Miami Spice menu, and they were accommodating for allergies on the regular Miami Spice non-veg menu as well. Both are tasting menus, and we felt like it was plenty of food. The Nori Butter Edamame is always great, and I love the crispy rice avocado as well. The shishito peppers is not something I'd normally go for, but they were so good - sweet and not spicy with amazing miso sauce. I would order it again. I really liked the veggie roll, which is different than veggie rolls in most places. The shitake bao bun was alright, but I wouldn't order it again. The hazelnut mochi was tasty, but the caramel mason jar was delicious! I would definitely be getting some of these items again instead of my regular go-tos at Pubbelly! Parking is paid parking under downtown Dadeland, but they validate your parking ticket. read more

The food here has always remained consistent. In an amazing way. Service is great. Depending on when you go, it can be a very intimate setting or very lively. I finally got to try Pubbelly Sushi Dadeland after having had this restaurant bookmarked for a long time. The vibe is very nice. I went on a Sunday for a quick, casual dinner but can see how this would be super fun on a Friday or Saturday night. The service was great: everyone from our waitress to the busser and barman were very kind. We ordered a few different things. I love the options they have for kids which are different from your typical Mac n Cheese kids menu. I ordered the steak box for my son which came with a steak skewer, berries, and I picked tater tots as a side. We tried out a few different things: butter crab roll, short rib dumplings, Korean wings, and the spicy tuna on sticky rice. It was yummy but I was let down a little bit by the butter crab roll. People have been raving about this but I thought it was a bit bland. I hope to come back here soon to try more of their delicious food! read more

The food was overpriced and the quality wasn't great. I personally wouldn't come back just didn't see the atmosphere or standard of the restaurant up to par. Good spot to have a good meal and enjoy some good service. Our server Gaby was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu as well as provided some good recommendations and made sure our dietary restrictions were acknowledged. I sat outside and it was a lovely evening, it's great that they put planters all around the seating area so that you feel secluded from the street. I suggest parking in the building rather than parking on the street. There are signs on instructions to pay but they don't work and the restaurant could not help me because they also did not know how to process payment on the street parking. read more

This review is long overdue. Pubbelly is sort of a tapas-style sushi restaurant, so my friends and I ordered a bunch of plates and shared everything. The experience here was amazing. We sat on their outside patio which was nice, but the ambience inside the restaurant is trendy as well. My party had some questions about various menu items and our server was more than happy to explain everything. My favorite app was the grilled octopus. The legs are cut into small pieces which are extremely tender and almost melt in your mouth. On the roll end, I enjoyed the DJ roll which was topped with a generous amount of masago. Here are some "must-order" items: Appetizers: - Miso Soup - Edamame (topped with delicious bbq salt) - grilled octopus Pubbelly Rolls: - Bigeye tuna (served on crispy rice) - DJ Roll - Spicy veggie roll (can be modified to remove the pungency) - Crispy salmon roll This place definitely makes the top of my list for upscale sushi in Miami. read more

Came with a friend for dinner last week and we had a wonderful time!! We sat outside because the weather was nice but it started raining so they moved us inside. We had the buffalo chicken bao buns (spicy!), a butter krab roll (a must!), a crispy quinoa roll and a Heat roll. We got free edamame for checking in. I asked for regular edamame instead of the spicy one! Our waitress was happy to accommodate. I forgot her name but she was awesome!! We had the mason jar for dessert! It was the highlight of my evening!! Loved every bite!! Parked in the underground garage in 4D. Walked up the stairs and right into the restaurant. Pubbelly validates your parking ticket for up to 2 hours! They have happy hour from 4-6 pm. Have to come check it out because the butter krab roll is discounted during happy hour! read more
