I was referred to PTI through the VA Health System for my mental health about six-months ago and they have been outstanding. Dr. Stern is understanding and companionate. He listens to what you are going through instead of most people. He's made minor adjustments in my daily medication that has helped me feel more like my old self. The dosage changes make me feel more energetic throughout the day. They have a great person that does the scheduling, Ms. Sadie, Shes efficient in getting your appointment times and dates scheduled with your needs and availability. She also sends out reminder texts of upcoming appoints and calls to set up the new appointments as soon as a session is complete. Just an overall sweet and considerate person. I recommend using PTI if you need any of their services. read more

No one here is helpful. They lie about what is covered before visits. They do not care about anyone's well being. I took my son here 15 years ago. I should have known better than to trust them again. They are very rude, don't keep their appointments and have ZERO problems about the welfare of their patients. I would hate to know the suicide rate after getting off the phone with such rude and uncaring therapist. Beware! This is not a place to trust with even a dogs mental health. Very very sad. read more

I had a very unwelcoming experience to say the least. I came in for an assessment, but honestly felt like I was being interrogated and was uncomfortable with the lack of professionalism as a whole. The ridiculous "diagnosis" I was given after only meeting for about 20 minutes, that's not how a thorough analysis of someone is handled in my opinion. I felt like Dr. Person had a predetermined diagnosis to give before even meeting me and hell bent on giving that diagnosis regardless of the symptoms from my past and present that I presented her with. I felt insulted, humiliated and dismissed as a person with a concern. I also didn't appreciate being told that she wasn't interested in my past diagnosis, but only asked questions regarding them. I was actually told "I don't care about past diagnoses". I went in for an assessment regarding a possible Asperger's diagnosis but was told within 5 minutes that she was confident that I wasn't on the spectrum because I gave eye contact and was able to answer complex questions. But I was told I fell under the cluster b personality disorder spectrum instead. I'm glad I was already aware of what type of personality falls under the cluster b blanket term and can assure you I do not. I have never disagreed with someone's evaluation of me more than this, nor have I ever felt the urge to walk out of an appointment like I did today. I basically told her I felt like I was being interrogated and really disagreed with her assessment and walked out. read more

I was referred to the Post Trauma Institute through Veterans Affairs in hopes of getting better, more efficient care than the VA can offer. After waiting nearly 8 weeks for my appointment, I show up and was told that my appointment was never even added to the schedule. If your mental health is important to you, maybe seek help elsewhere because it clearly isn't important to them. read more

I did have a hard time getting an appointment; however, once in, it was full speed ahead. EVERYONE was very courteous and kind. I really liked my Dr. (Westlake) and my counselor, Mendy Daniels. I feel very confident that this establishment will help me tremendously. I look forward to seeing what the "game plan" is with each week I visit. read more

This is a horribly ineffective place. They never answer the phone, you will wait a long time before they call you back for your appointment and there is no communication between the specialist and many of them do not care one bit for their patients. I have also been asked literally 5 times the same question that was on the original paperwork that we filled out. This was the final straw.... We came for the appointment for my son We were 8 minutes late, I would have been on time, but dealing with a depressed teenager getting ready is quite difficult. The lady at the front desk let us check in and sit down, then another patient came in crying saying she had been trying to call you all (no one ever answers there) and needed to talk to Mendy. We were then quickly booted off of your schedule and told then it was because we were late and Mendy was triple booked today. I explained that we really needed to be seen today. My son had been admitted to the ER twice this week because of overdose accidental due to drug experimenting. We are very upset and it has been a very traumatic week. We need a therapist that is caring and compassionate and has some understanding for the kind of patients who she is dealing with. Depression, anxiety, and apathy can make it difficult to be on time. I am very disappointed so please take us off of any future appointments because I need to find a therapist who truly cares for the patient. I will make sure to tell everyone I know NOT to go here. Horrible, unprofessional service from front desk and other staff. Have been told my dr has been changed without notice multiple times and it was done based on what they thought about the dr. When I voiced my concerns the staff began bad mouthing the dr that I told them I wanted to continue to see and that I did not want to see anyone new. Bad mouthing your OWN providers shows a horrible unprofessional practice and what they value. They never answer calls, or return them. After not receiving my medication that i was told got sent in I called and left several messages, only to find out when I finally had my next appointment and asked her about it, she looked in my chart and a staff member noted I stated I didn't want the medication. They did that to avoid having to actually work. It's all around become a horrible practice that I wouldn't recommend any longer. read more

As others have mentioned, once you actually get an appointment, everything is great. I really like Dr. Westlake but the insanity that you have to go through to get an appointment is just ridiculous. When you call, go to option 3, don't ever expect to speak to anyone. You must leave a message and they will call you back at their convenience. When they do call back, if you can't take the call, prepare to start all over again. It's odd because when you finally get an appointment, it's not that busy when you arrive. If it wasn't for Dr. Westlake, I would be somewhere else. read more

We had a wonderful experience at PTI! Our son had some testing completed and we were referred to other agencies to obtain services for him as he is an adult with special needs! Also, his medication was re-evaluated and was decreased and because of this he no longer has the sores on his arms, he takes a rest in the afternoon but doesn't sleep or take a nap, he sleeps a lot better at night, and because of Dr.Z's suggestions he now has a huge chore chart where the chores are broken down into one step commands! I would recommend anyone that needs help to go to PTI! They treat you like family as well!! Thanks PTI! read more

My son who has been diagnosed with adhd odd depression mood disorder at a young age went to PSI today. Only to be asked a few questions that he answered showing issues, was told that he didnt show these issues while he was sitting in the chair so she did not see any reason on why he needed help and told him there was no need to come back. How is this ok? Someone is coming to you for help and because you cant physically see the issues they do not need help? I call BS on this. I am EXTREMELY disappointed. read more

I been coming here for about a year, it's constantly the same thing. There's no communication what so ever, they say they will call you about a appointment request never do, my old psychiatrist no longer worked there so I had to change to a different one never got a call about that had to call my self to get one. No matter what time your appointment is you will still be called back 45min to a hour later. Every body who works there is clueless. I had a appointment for 1:00, 2:00 came around still never got called they told me to come back tomorrow, so after I sat there for a hour that's all you can say. I'm not coming back with that being said, i rather find a business who cares about there patients. read more

Been coming here for over 2 years and unless you make your appointments on Monday, and are prepared to stay on them when you need anything at all, I recommend another doctor. For example if the pharmacy is out of the prescription they send over to fill it might be a week before your doc will do anything about it unless you go in the clinic in person and call a few times. This happens probably every 3 or 4 months, and now I'm just tired of it and looking for a new doctor. read more

Worst experience I have ever had with a business. My daughter experienced some significant trauma as a child which led to anxiety & depression. I saw an escalation in her behavior & attempted to contact her counselor & was told I needed an appointment. I got a phone one the next afternoon & she canceled last minute. The other 3 counselors my daughter has seen contacted me immediately. My daughter attempted suicide the next day & was sent to an adolescent psych facility. On her return I scheduled an appointment for her with her psychiatrist via Phone. No in office visits still. He told her I needed to be on the next call to change her medication so I scheduled a call. The day of the call the office staff told me he needed to cancel due to him having an emergency & was at the ER. No call no response in over a month. When someone's life is at stake they do not care. Don't waste your time which is precious. read more
