Thankfully Dr. Davis is a professional who respects bodily autonomy. I am terrified of needles, and the amazing nurses and care team at Woman's made my experience one of the smoothest I've ever had. The technicians were kind, explained everything to me, and made sure I felt cared for. I am almost a week post-op and even though I am generally very sensitive and my health is poor, I am recovering unusually fast and have very little pain. I can only think to attribute this to the expertise of the surgeon. When I do have pain, I don't feel like I need to ration my medication, because they gave me all that I needed and didn't skimp. My only issue was that I need valium or xanax for anxiety and I was told I couldn't take it before the procedure due to consent forms. I learned that other patients were allowed to take theirs and it just depends on who the doctor and hospital staff are that I speak to before my surgery. Anxiety medicine doesn't nullify contracts or affect the outcome of pregnancy tests, so there is no reason I had to wait all morning without it until right before my procedure. Other than this issue, I had a very positive experience overall.

The clinic isn't open on Monday's (but the phone staff won't tell you this). It's likely the nurse won't call you back for three days. Then, you will wait another two days for an appointment. 5 days makes for a long wait when you have an infection. Ended up with fever from waiting so long...Asked for a doctors excuse then was judged. One time they called me....but they had the wrong chart open and were actually calling someone else. The doctors and staff are burnt out. Dr. Dang was very annoyed when I had many questions about birth control.

Unfortunately she…read morerepeated a lot of strange personal opinions, unscientific claims, and outright falsehoods during my appointment regarding contraceptives and sterilization. To be completely transparent and honest, Dr. Lee did the most exemplary exam and pap I've ever had. She was efficient, gentle, and explained what she was doing. Even with my anxiety it was the best pap smear I've ever had. I would like to visit her again, but I'm afraid to have a conversation with her. Before that, we had an argument/"discussion." The amazing and kind nurse Brandy told me that despite my hesitation, I should bring up tubal ligation/sterilization if I was interested because that is "everyone's choice." I was emboldened by her kindness so I mentioned wanting it to Dr. Lee. Nothing I could say would convince her to give me one, but she wouldn't tell me outright she wouldn't give me one at first; she wanted me to go through all my reasons I wanted sterilization so she could "debunk" them. The main reason she kept repeating, of course, is "you might change your mind," "you think you're sure but you don't know." Then she told me I could come back at age 35 (I'm 26) and asked if I understood her. I said that I disagreed but wanted to move on and she said ok. At the end she asked if we were "square" and I said yes, but I don't know what else I was supposed to say. I don't think "No, you upset me by saying near and outright lies about pregnancy and essentially telling me I'm not adult enough at age 26 to make decisions about my body." would have gone over well. In my experience actually telling doctors this who try to railroad me, it doesn't go well. So Dr. Lee, if you're reading this, that's why I said we were square. Because I was afraid not to. Unfortunately you have and seem to be aware that you have control over my health, which creates a power imbalance. I cannot be honest with you. Especially after you have been dishonest with me... how hard would it have been for you to say "I don't make referrals for tubal ligation under age 35 because of personal opinions"? We could have saved so much time. Additionally adding to my distrust, you told me I might want to have a period sometimes to "clear everything out." As far as I know, there is no evidence that women need to have a period for health reasons. Menstrual suppression is considered safe at this time. And if I am not having a cycle due to continuous birth control usage, there is no endometrium building up to be "cleared" anyway. Even though I am perfectly satisfied with my current birth control, Dr. Lee wanted me to change to a birth control that would make me have a period so that my uterus would be clean. My therapist says I should get a tubal ligation if I want to. There were no risks even presented to me about the surgery itself. The reasons for withholding this treatment were her own PERSONAL opinion. Here are some opinions shared by Dr. Lee: -Why would you not want to get pregnant? Isn't the miracle of life worth the risk? -You'll have to get pap smears forever so we will just have to work on your fear of doctors touching you there. Do you have some kind of trauma or sexual abuse or something? -Tubal ligation is scarier than pregnancy because with tubal ligation you need needles and anesthesia. With pregnancy they just look at the baby with an ultrasound. -Patients who say they've never wanted children change their mind. -You won't get pregnant on birth control because it's 99.9% effective. Sterilization is the same rate of effectiveness so there's no point. And if you were sterilized you wouldn't take birth control even if you need it for period pain, because there would be no point in having both. -Access to birth control will never be reduced. The people who outlawed ab * rtion didn't mean it and they're going to change their minds.

The receptionist i encountered was an angel. She told me I did not need an appointment, I filled out the forms and had my mammogram done in a total of 27 minutes! Everyone who helped me was upbeat, sweet and showed me such interest in helping me accomplish my mission. My primary care doctor had begged me for years to get a mammogram, but I could never get an appointment so that my husbsnd could drive me. I am disabled in such a way that I need a walker to get around and I have trouble driving when my right knee goes out. After my mammogram we went up to Dr. Schexnayder's office where I met Raven, his adorably sweet receptionist. I filled out the forms and the nurse Danielle (spelling??) who prepared me for my checkup was funny, sweet and her personality made me want to know her more. My whole expetience with Dr. Schexnayder was pleasant snd informing. I felt totally at ease I did make a suggestion that they put happy face buttons on the examining room ceilings to give us women something to look at. Thank you everyone, I promise I will be back every year from now on and I pray God blesses all of your lives as you blessed mine that day!

We didn't know a single Gyn physician in the Baton Rouge area. I've been in labor and delivery for 31 years and couldn't get a reference from anyone in our department. I went to Yelp and saw a small review and took a chance. We struck triple "Platinum"!!! The office is clean, classy, and diverse. Everyone seem to enjoy their jobs and the overall vibe was calming. My daughter had problem and needed to be seen. After working a 12 hour shift in Gretna, La and driving through all of that BR traffic I was exhausted but, after meeting the staff and Dr.Taylor I forgot how tired I was. She assured me she would take good care of my young adult. I left feeling completely satisfied! So guys if you're looking for a good OB/GYN physician Dr. Yolunda Taylor is your best bet!

Kathy Guidry is a terrible doctor. I went into the assessment center because I was bleeding…read moreexcessively and uncontrollably. I was in a lot of pain and It brought tears to my eyes. I waited there for hours. Got there at around 10 that morning and didn't see her til almost 4. Then all she did was look down there, she may have done a culture but I don't think she did. And that was it. She then sent me home and on my way with pills that would "slow" the bleeding. Which it did but the pain did not stop. I have PCOS. Which is in my file. She should have done an ultrasound to check for cysts but she didn't. She didn't really do anything. She didn't press on my stomach or anything to check for cysts. And then when I asked for an excuse for work for the next day she wouldn't give it to me. Because she "saw no reason I would need it." So my excessive bleeding and extreme pain that brought tears to my eyes wasn't a good enough reason. I did not want a repeat of that days events. I didn't want to bleed all Over the place again. It's embarrassing. Then I told her nurse I was going to move to another doctor since Guidry didn't see fit to do all she should for me. And then that bitch got me banned from the whole clinic (the practice is private apparently she can do that). What a heartless person. She didn't help me and then because I wanted to find someone who would she got me banned. She has no bedside manner and she is not a good doctor.

This is the worst staff I've ever dealt with in all of my medical history…read more I've been a type-1 diabetic for over 30 years and I've worn an insulin pump since 2001. For over eight days, the staff at Grady Endocrinology Center has neglected to do their job by simply providing my Pharmacist with a simple diagnosis code for blood testing strips. My insurance requires that I test at least four times per day, so when I was running low on testing strips, I called the Center... The first issue is that when you call, you don't ever get to consult with an actual human being to discuss whatever needs to be discussed. You're sent to the desk of a woman who promises to "get back to you within 48 hours". When she finally returned my call, I informed her of their fault. She immediately acted as if everyone at my local pharmacy didn't know how to do their job and blamed them, telling me that she'd take care of the problem. She called half an hour later to confirm that she sent the information. I should mention that I'd already had to purchase strips out-of-pocket due to all of this. I have medical insurance for this very purpose. Upon returning to my pharmacy, I encounter the same problem -- a new prescription was sent in, but with no diagnosis code. So, I call Grady Endocrinology Center again... My call is returned the following day, and met with the same routine. Repeat pharmacy visit/repeat the SAME problem. Finally, I decide to call after hours so that I can get the answering service to put an emergency call in to Dr. Justin Matriciano directly. He returns my call within five minutes and I relay the situation that I've been dealing with to him. He immediately defended his staff, saying that he'd have to check with them about this in the morning. He continued to say that pharmacies have a tendency to make mistakes like this and even told me that this was an Emergency Call and that unless I was in the ER, I shouldn't have contacted him. This let me know that he didn't care and didn't consider a patient waiting over 8 days to get a proper prescription from their doctor was an emergency. I felt like my intelligence was being challenged at this point so I pointed out that I saw BOTH prescriptions with my own eyes and BOTH lacked the diagnosis codes necessary for the pharmacy to fill the prescription. He made it clear that he didn't want to be on the phone with me and tried to speak over me for the duration of the short conversation. He then hastily repeated that he'd have to check up on things in the morning and hung up on me. He didn't say that he'd fill the prescription himself and see it through, he said that he'd "check with his staff in the morning" -- a complete lack of responsibility. The following day, the pharmacy had no prescription for me. No call from Grady Endocrinology. At this point, I decided to call my general practitioner and explain the scenario to see if they could aid me. In less than 20 minutes, my GP filled the necessary prescription and the pharmacy called to say my strips were available. I am now actively looking for a new Endocrinologist. Lack of action like this can really screw up certain aspects of particular Insurance Company requirements and even potentially land patients in the ER. Thankfully, my prescription was for glucose strips and not insulin -- I would've been in the ER by day 3.
