The cost of his services are way lower than at other gyms and you get actual one on one training. I really like that I am able to make my own schedule as I have a very busy life. I called Jeff and went in to meet with him and was sold right away by his charm, energy, passion for the job and prices! Now, six months later, I am so glad I made that leap and am 30 pounds down not only due to his support with physical activity but because of his willingness to be there for me emotionally and mentally when necessary as it is of utmost importance to your process to have a supportive, kind and helpful voice even if it's while you are huffing and puffing through your exercises! Going to see Jeff is always bound to be full of laughs and positive energy alongside hard work! He is dedicated and focuses on your needs and tracks your heart rate to get an idea of what you need specifically and at what level you should be working. You'll never feel like you have to throw up, as I have with other trainers (not normal!!). Jeff keeps a close eye on your heart rate and body language to ensure you are working at an optimal level for fat loss or whatever it is you're looking for. After working with Jeff, I recommended him to my brother, who had a completely different set of expectations (muscle gain) than me (weight loss) for Jeff. He walked out of his first session and called me right away to say thanks for recommending Jeff and that he was pretty sure Jeff would change his life :). Sure enough, they've been working together and have made great strides too!! There is honestly no one better to start and finish your journey with! Look no further because you have found the guy that will work by your side to get you what you want! I honestly can't say enough to get you to contact him and just get out there! The drive down Riverside is always beautiful and gives me a bit of time to think before arriving and some time to be really proud on the way home. You'll be happy when you're pants fit nicely or even loosely instead of tight and your skin clears up and people start complimenting you! I know I was! It's all up to you to make the changes, but it's also really important to surround yourself with positive upbeat people who don't judge and who know what they're doing and how to tailor a program to you! Jeff can do all of that and more :) Contact me through Yelp if you have any questions regarding this review :)

Jeannette is always on time and prepared.   She is knowledgeable, funny, and thorough.  During the COVID-19 stay home order, she checked in to make sure I was working out and offered suggestions for in-home workouts.   The gym that she trains at is older, but the equipment is well-maintained and it is never crowded.  The gym owner is great. I do powerlifting and they had power bars with metal plates, deadlift platforms with deadlift jacks, and plenty of benches. The plates are in pounds though, so if you prefer kilo plates, be prepared to do some math. Everyone was following the policy to maintain social distancing and cleaning/wiping down the equipment after use. I felt 100% comfortable being there. Blink and you'll miss it - the sign is small and in the window front. It's not a huge place, and most of their space extends the long way back through the building, leaving the actual storefront you see on the street rather narrow and small. When you walk inside, you see the super cool, urban loft style to the studio - one large room with gleaming hardwood floor, exposed brick wall, and Detroit artwork hung about. They offer group classes and personal training sessions only, so this is not your standard "drop in and work out on your own" gym. The schedule has regular spin, zumba, pilates, and yoga classes, and personal training sessions can be scheduled by appointment. Classes are reasonably priced, you must schedule and reserve ahead (no drop ins) because the place is small and they don't want to overbook. But, the scheduling system is online, very simple, and allows you to add in or cancel nearly right up until the class start time. Every class I've gone to was a hit - energetic and helpful instructors and good music! The clientele tends to be lots of young professionals who live nearby in Corktown, Midtown, downtown, etc. and everyone is very friendly. All levels of fitness welcome. I only wish True Body would add a few more varieties of classes to their schedule (kickboxing, please!!!) and maybe some more Saturday day times, so I could go more often. Check the website for a $5 class deal for first timers, and also their month unlimited packages.

Go online and sign up with their class scheduler, and if you've ever taken any class at one of these boutique gyms then you're already familiar with the Mind Body Connect platform. Add the "one week free" item to your cart and sign up for classes. DONE. I walked in that same day for a 90min spin class. No calls or questions when I stopped going. The first time, unlimited class package is a great bargain if you were to compare pricing to other locations in the vicinity. There are showers as well as lockers for storage as classes sometimes are 90min+ . Wide variety of instructors which I always value. I've just started my second month and the rate is 130$. They offer towels, as well (I've never taken one, though) and easy sign up through the mobile app. I have noticed the temperature during class between seasons can vary, which is very important to me (bc otherwise it's just regular yoga, which isn't worth 130$) so I am a stickler. Classes during the weekend are very packed at times (earliest being10AM) . I prefer sessions @ 6AM during the week. Hopefully they begin offering the same time over the weekends. TLDR; worth the cost (ONLY if you stay consistent and go x2-x3 a week) . Sometimes teachers will make tea post-session. All around decent vibe. Clean facilities. Always has body wash.
