I ended up having to pay her $450 out of pocket for a one hour video session. Instead of helping me with the situation, their billing department sent me on an emotional roller coaster calling every week for several months. It took so much of my energy and time. In my experience, their team did not handle anything well. There are many therapists out there, so please save yourself the stress & headache by staying far away from this practice.

I went to therapy a number of times before but now I am actually seeing results. Dr. Kaplan seems to listen to me very carefully and remember what I said in my previous sessions. He is very approachable, down-to-earth and you really get to feel that he understands you very well. He has also been very easy to get in touch with. At times, I really needed to speak to him and he was there for me. I would highly recommend Dr. Kaplan to anyone who needs some help and guidance.

I have tried many therapists and have come to realize that no matter what style the therapist is using the key determinant of whether they are good or not is how I feel after the sessions and over the period of working with the therapist. Meredith is also very knowledgeable about CBT, which was exactly what I needed.

I had an EEG done that revealed anxiety (as expected), which was really valuable to me in terms of confirming my own thoughts/experiences, but also giving me concrete data to work with and develop a plan. I started using Nexalin as often as I could and occasionally did Zengar as well. I gradually began to feel less stressed over classes, and felt I had a calmer, more present mentality in general. I stopped getting so anxious over exams and other more minuscule things that would normally cause me overactive anxiety. Obviously, these are things that require lifelong improvement and attention, but I felt noticeable changes much quicker than expected, and believe that with formal treatment guided by Dr. Adler, many would benefit. Everyone in the office is incredibly warm, genuine, and welcoming. Clients are approached with the same friendliness you'd experience with a family member or an old friend. This becomes very obvious when you see how the clients interact with staff and how they express their gratitude. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for therapy, especially if you are curious about neurofeedback! (PS. Follow @parkavepsychotherapy on social media!)

He was covered under my insurance and I thought therapy would be like chicken soup--- couldn't hurt! I didn't really have anything specific to discuss. I ended up really enjoying our sessions. It was weird how even though there was nothing specific I came in to discuss, I would leave each session with new tools to handle conflict, work, family, relationships, etc. I remember leaving sessions and telling friends about my "Dr. Kevinisms" because some of the advice was so great. I still find myself often saying, "Emotions are great direction givers in the back seat, but they should never be driving the car." Dr. Kevin is a great listener, incredibly engaging, non-judgmental and very easy to understand. I went in for self improvement, and I achieved it in spades. As he put it to me, his job was to help me "graduate" from therapy so that I would have all the tools I'd need to handle conflict and emotional hurdles easily without him. I give him so much credit for the health of my friendships, the great husband I landed in 2009 and being comfortable being myself. Can't recommend him enough. Just bummed he moved his practice to NJ (boooo). :)

Dr Kevin's ability to help me understand my actions provided a framework to change and get better in a few months, not years. I used to say that I couldn't afford to go to therapy, but now I realize that I couldn't afford not to go. My life is so much richer for the experience.
