Just like another reviewer I was charged 50$ for missing an apt. My life right now is very very chaotic. I updated my phone number with them within the past 6 months. But they had the wrong # for me, a # I never heard of. So I never got any calls for my appt. And I have a 1 and a half year old and a lot of appt's for a lot of things. This is the ONLY apt I have missed with Andrew Donahue. Little over 2 years ago I had Delores as a therapist. This is when I was pregnant. I had hyperemesis Gravidarum which meant I was throwing up constantly, I even had a nurse come to visit me at home weekly for fluids. My family was pressuring me to go to these appt's even though I felt too sick to. Anyways, after throwing up in her office and her telling me "She cant help me, she is not trained to." (I have Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD). I missed 2 appt's with her 2 years ago. This gets brought up during my apt presently, and I am threatened with being kicked out. I thought a new year started things over? I felt abandoned. And that's the worst feeling for a BPD patient. And he did waive my 50$ fee, thank god, because if he didn't, I wouldn't have been able to afford food for my daughter. I am thankful for that. But it stressed me out more than I can put into words. And I felt attacked. They seem more about $ than really helping people. To have a therapist tell me she cant help me when I'm like...at my worst...That's so discouraging. I always liked Andrew but Delores threw me away like garbage. Like a scared, unstable pregnant person wasted her precious time with easier patients.
My boyfriend also tried the therapy here and did not like it. So, my psychiatrist made me cry and feel abandoned over missing therapy with a totally different person who told me she couldn't help me when I needed help the most over 2 years ago. If a therapist can't handle humans with emotions what are you doing in the business? Oh, for $$ that's right.
If you have BPD or Complex PTSD OR need help getting Disability: DON'T GO HERE! You won't get help. My clearly disabled older mother couldn't get disability after being fired from her job cause she physically couldn't do it anymore because they did not help. Now we worry about keeping a roof over our heads. This is all 100% true. I don't go out of my way writing reviews unless I REALLY feel like I need to. Never do this.
I have a therapist at a different practice that would NEVER tell me she couldn't help me and wasn't trained to. She goes above and beyond to help me and that is how it should be. And I have missed 2 appt's with her, she brushed it off and told me don't worry she understood. THAT is someone who wants to help people who are hurting. And I am as unstable as they come. Now my father is beyond pissed at this practice, has been since I was prescribed medicine I never should have had. He wants me leaving here. Finding a new Psychiatrist is not something I had planned, but I feel like I HAVE to. What if I have an emergency and miss one...then I'm kicked out with no doctor or meds and that scares me. I really truly thought something over 2 years ago would be wiped clean.
The one positive thing I CAN say about this place: The receptionists are all very nice and will work with you. Kind ladies. And Andrew is a very nice man, I just don't understand this all of a sudden. I already am paranoid no one likes me (BPD does that) now I really think they don't. I'm just uncomfortable now.
I'm not going to say Andrew Donahue is a bad Psychiatrist because he's not. He is very very knowledgeable. I just don't like how those missed visits that long ago with someone who didn't want to see me anymore anyways should matter now. read more
