However, this office has some shady billing practices. The company that handles their bills disguises their phone number to make it look like you're receiving a call from the doctors office. Once you call back, you are forced to stay on hold for over 30 minutes before you even find out what the call is even about. When I questioned the rep about calling, he said I owed $150 from over a year ago. Never received a bill and I pay my copay every month. When I questioned the rep further he said oh never mind, "disregard the call" and it looks like I have a visit that was never sent to the insurance and they will send my account over to accounts receivable to sort out all my payments. Forty minutes of my life that I'll never get back. And they woke me up after working a 16hr shift! To say I'm a little irate is an understatement.

I broke up all the reasons I think Therapy for Women is amazing below. The values: This practice is based on mutual trust. You're therapist will happily share bits of their own life experiences. This always makes me feel less alone in what I am experiencing. Additionally, the open conversations make sessions comfortable/feel less like a doctors appointment. Therapy for Women also makes a point to let you know that you can switch therapists at anytime. Besides therapy won't be effective if you aren't comfortable with who you are talking too. In the office: The atmosphere is calming and quiet. Therapists have white noise machines at their door so your conversations will never be heard by someone passing by. If you are finding it hard to share something most therapists have art supplies, cards, fidget toys or board games that you are able to play during the session. The sessions are flexible and can be tailored to what you need. This is especially great for people like me with ADHD. The online portal: This might not be something many people think is important but the online portal is so simple. The rules, expectations, and prices for the practice are shared openly once you become a client so there is transparency. If you are ever confused about something or wondering about your last bill it is easy to look up past records and chat with your therapist directly. Price: Therapy for Women does not accept insurance (this is my understanding/ I'm not sure if there are specific exceptions). Sessions are relatively expensive since insurance doesn't cover the cost. However, Jen is a therapist I could stick with for years and I feel it is completely worth the extra cost. Really unethical practice focused on the money. Jessica, the "scheduler", was rude and refused to…read moreconnect me to anyone who could answer basic questions-she told me that I would be required to pay for a consultation if I wanted to ask any questions. I explained that I was looking for a provider for a friend and I had already spoken to another neuro-psychologist who explained that there are a lot of differences in neuro psych assessments and highly recommended that I ask other providers about this before deciding which one to make an appointment with (the provider who gave me this information was too far away for my friend to see). I also called another office and learned they were not taking new patients but the owner/psychiatrist there spent quite a bit of time on the phone advising me how to best help my friend. I actually offered to pay him for his time with me since he spent a significant amount of time educating me but he refused to take any payment. These experiences really highlighted how differently Rittenhouse Psychiatric operates and also highlights how focused they are on money rather than patient care. They even tell you on their general voicemail, before you even have an opportunity to speak to anyone, about their requirements for credit card up front since they don't accept insurance.
