After his surgery the oral surgeon told him to come back to the dentist to have it adjusted because it wasn't fitting right. We took him in the next day & they said they couldn't do anything to fix the flipper & that he could not use it to eat. They said it's too late to make him a new one that will fit correctly & even if they could he'd have to pay $3,000!! Are you kidding me?! This is unacceptable! They made a mold of his teeth before he had surgery telling him they would make a flipper that would fit & he could use for eating, now he can only wear them when he goes to work. That means no eating out; he can't eat regular food for 4-6 months?! Unacceptable!! They need to make this right! But they won't! Do not go to this dental office! I already cancelled my future appointment with them. After what they've done, I wouldn't trust them with my teeth or mouth & you shouldn't either! We're extremely angry & disappointed!

They are also all very easy to talk to and it's very natural making conversation. Steve, the hygienist, is extremely friendly and thorough with counseling about addressing my tooth sensitivity. He is very attentive in ensuring that my cleaning is comfortable. Dr. Oestriech (pronounced A-Strike) is absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough good things. She is very thorough and involves you in your care so that you understand the rationale for her plan. Unfortunately, I had to get cavities addressed (I haven't had a cavity for more than 10 years), but with my care in her hands, Dr. Oestriech made the process much more bearable, and she let me look at pictures she took of my teeth before and after the procedure. She also went through what to expect in the coming days post-procedure, and was very careful to shave the fillings so that they were comfortable and did not awkwardly impact my bite. One thing I love about getting my care with Dr. Oestriech is that she remembers what's important to me- a stainless smile. I walked around for months with a stain that would not leave. Dr. Oestriech cleaned it off beautifully and ever since, has made a point to follow up with it, making one my top priorities, her priority. All around, my experience with the staff here has been great. They are all very attentive and dedicated to providing top notch care and making you feel welcome. The billing experience was also extremely transparent with the staff providing an estimate of the procedure up front from insurance before your appointment, and a delineation of all the tasks and services that are being billed. If you're looking for a detailed dentist who will involve you in your care and makes note of, and owns resolving your concerns, look no further- I highly recommend Dr. Oestriech and the crew here!

I would like to start by saying this is not directed at any of the dental assistants i have worked…read morewith over the years I have been a patient at the Rochester MN. location. They were always extremely helpful with scheduling and very polite and kind. I started my my implant journey in 2019 . I was told that most of my top teeth were bad and i was a perfect candidate for dental implants. So i spent the 11k and got implants. And since 2019 it has been an absolute disaster. I broke my first plate within the first year of having implants. I thought " well that could happen no biggie see how it goes". shortly after that i had an implant fall out. So since 2019 i have broke 6 denture implant plates and out of 5 implant posts 2 are left in my mouth . 3 have fallen out/ pushed out etc. When they sell you on this process they tell you it's a lifetime warranty on everything what they don't tell you is when the dentist decides to sell his practice to another dentist the buyer doesn't have to stand behind the lifetime warranty. It's a scam and a terribly cheap product. To my knowledge the rochester location has changed hands at least 3 times since 2019. so the warranty means nothing . I have been in business for myself as a small business owner for almost 30 years, successfully i might add. And i have never felt so financially or emotionally assaulted or embarrassed for doing business with an organization that knows their selling a bad product and they are taking advantage of people that just want a nice smile. Since i quit doing business at affordable dentures i have established care at a local dentist and they have straighten up what they could with helping me with good quality dentures . I no longer use my implants. I have been putting off writing this review for some time probably just avoiding the negative feeling it gives me to write it. But after last night when my 3rd implant pushed its way out i thought it was time. If i can save someone else from the anguish and horrible experience i had it's worth it to write the review . I would have been better off taking that 11,000 dollars and donating it to a respectable charity . And there was also around another 5,000 dollars for additional plates that i had to purchase because of the business getting sold to other dentist that didn't want to cover the LIFETIME warranty that really doesn't exist. So stay away from this horrible place that really doesn't want to help you they just want your cash and they feed off of your desire to have a nice smile. Sincerely, Jim Fellows

He has since broken off another tooth and is a nightmare trying to get someone to return a call. After many, many calls and leaving several messages, someone finally answered the phone. We were informed that they did not have anyone on staff at this time and would not have anyone there until mid June (2 months). They gave me their first appointment, which was June 12. We are gone on vacation that week, so tried to call back to reschedule. Once again, I have called several times and left numerous messages to try to get this appointment moved and cannot get anyone to answer the phone or return my call. They gave me the option of going to West St. Paul to see someone at that location, but that is COMPLETELY inconvenient to think we are going to run over an hour and a half each way for multiple appointments. Definitely would NOT recommend Affordable Dentures to anyone!

My experience at Mayo Clinic in Rochester has profoundly changed my understanding of what excellent…read moremedical care can look like. I came to Mayo during an extraordinarily difficult period of my life, facing both extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD) and breast cancer after having already been through a brain tumor. I was frightened, exhausted, and trying to navigate multiple specialists and major decisions at once. One of the most important reasons I sought care at Mayo was its highly specialized experience treating EMPD, an extremely rare cancer for which expertise and surgical technique matter enormously. Before coming to Mayo, the options available to me locally were very different. I had been counseled toward wide local excision and came away believing that I should expect recurrence and potentially a devastating long-term prognosis. No one in my area could offer me the highly specialized, multidisciplinary, margin-controlled approach Mayo has developed for this disease. When I researched Mayo's outcomes, I discovered something that gave me hope for the first time: Mayo physicians have helped study a Mohs approach using CK-7 immunostaining in which only 2.3% of primary EMPD tumors in that published series had a local recurrence -- meaning 97.7% had no observed local recurrence. Mayo has continued to refine this approach specifically for female genital EMPD through collaboration among Mohs surgery, gynecologic oncology, plastic surgery, and other specialties when needed. That expertise is ultimately what brought me to Rochester. My own EMPD surgery required an extraordinarily long Mohs procedure, followed by reconstruction, but my team continued until I had completely clear margins. Hearing that I had 100% clear margins after everything I had feared remains one of the most meaningful moments of my life. What distinguished Mayo, however, was not simply the expertise of individual physicians, although that expertise was extraordinary. It was the way the entire system worked together around me. Dermatologic surgery, gynecologic oncology, plastic surgery, breast surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, advanced practice providers, and coordinating physicians communicated in a way that made complicated care feel organized rather than fragmented. I repeatedly experienced specialists who understood not only their particular portion of my treatment, but also what I had already endured and what the next member of the team needed to know. Just as importantly, I was treated like a person. My physicians and advanced practice providers took time to educate me, answer questions, respect my decisions, and acknowledge the emotional burden of multiple serious diagnoses. Several called me personally with results or updates. Others sat with me, held my hand before surgery, shared humor or pieces of their own lives, and made frightening experiences feel human and manageable. My breast cancer was treated with a breast-conserving approach that preserved far more than I had expected physically and emotionally. Throughout both cancers, I felt that the people caring for me were thoughtful about not only eliminating disease, but also preserving quality of life, dignity, function, and my ability to make informed decisions about my own body. I have repeatedly found myself thinking that somehow the exact person I needed appeared at the exact moment I needed them. Mayo gave me something I had been struggling to find elsewhere: a genuine sense of safety in medical care. I arrived frightened about what these diagnoses might mean for the rest of my life. I left knowing that I had received care from people who had devoted significant expertise to understanding diseases as rare as mine and who were willing to work across specialties to give me the best outcome they could. I am profoundly grateful for the expertise, compassion, interdisciplinary collaboration, and humanity I experienced there. Mayo Clinic has earned my deepest trust.

After living in multiple cities from coast to coast, finding physicians who are medical intellectuals has become next to impossible. Corporate medicine has had an effective coup, and American health care is now mostly about money. The Mayo Clinic is the exception. The physicians at Mayo in Rochester that I have encountered are deep thinkers who find templates demeaning. They see their patients as individuals, treating each one separately from the thousands of others they see. Their support staff absorb this attitude and treat patients with respect. At least, that's what I observe. Sprinkle in "Minnesota Nice," and I always feel a level of security at the Mayo Clinic. I now live in Minneapolis, but for most of my medical needs, I will travel to Rochester.
