When contacted, they said 'Oh, we don't do that anymore'. So, we scheduled our checkups and cleanings at the earliest available time....2 years out from last time! I just called this morning to get an emergency appointment...severe tooth pain, radiating up my face and swelling in my mouth. No live call answers. They advised me that my son needed seven cavities filled, my husband needed periodontal cleaning, and that I needed a filling. My husband went forward with his periodontal work, declined one of the services they recommended, and they billed it to our insurance anyway. It was declined as not covered and they tried to bill us for services that were not provided. I met with the dentist about my son's plan of care, and she didn't really give me any valid evidence that he needed all seven fillings. So I had my son get a second opinion at our previous dentist and he needed one filling not seven! I would not trust a recommended treatment plan from this dental office.

They made a mold of his teeth before he had surgery telling him they would make a flipper that would fit & he could use for eating, now he can only wear them when he goes to work. That means no eating out; he can't eat regular food for 4-6 months?! Unacceptable!! They need to make this right! But they won't! Do not go to this dental office! She is very thorough and involves you in your care so that you understand the rationale for her plan. Unfortunately, I had to get cavities addressed (I haven't had a cavity for more than 10 years), but with my care in her hands, Dr. Oestriech made the process much more bearable, and she let me look at pictures she took of my teeth before and after the procedure. She also went through what to expect in the coming days post-procedure, and was very careful to shave the fillings so that they were comfortable and did not awkwardly impact my bite. One thing I love about getting my care with Dr. Oestriech is that she remembers what's important to me- a stainless smile. I walked around for months with a stain that would not leave. Dr. Oestriech cleaned it off beautifully and ever since, has made a point to follow up with it, making one my top priorities, her priority. All around, my experience with the staff here has been great. They are all very attentive and dedicated to providing top notch care and making you feel welcome. The billing experience was also extremely transparent with the staff providing an estimate of the procedure up front from insurance before your appointment, and a delineation of all the tasks and services that are being billed. If you're looking for a detailed dentist who will involve you in your care and makes note of, and owns resolving your concerns, look no further- I highly recommend Dr. Oestriech and the crew here!

I've had a few bad experiences, including recently when the local dentist I'd been going to for five years suddenly found 3 cavities after being bought out by a bigger practice!! I have a fear of needles, and would much rather pay to protect my teeth than drill them. I've had 2 cavities my whole life and still have all 4 wisdom teeth... so I was shocked. The last thing I really wanted to do was find a new dentist, but the threat of $800 worth of dental work plus needle and drilling was enough to make me look! Main Street Dental was recommended by a friend... plus the new patient exam and X-Rays (including the full scan) were FREE... which made me a little skeptical, but I had little to lose. What a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! Normally, bitewing xrays make me gag, and I'm spitting out the mouthpiece as soon as I can. The new digital mouthpiece was so comfortable, it was easy to wait until Miranda came back... even on the wisdom teeth ones!! Then, Dr Osmun Sweden (spelling?) examined my teeth, and sat with me to review & discuss the X-Rays. He found 2 teeth to watch, but recommended against drilling, especially on one tiny spot.... he said drilling could potentially make it much worse and it could be more then 10 years before it ever became a problem. To say I was relieved is an understatement. I understand there are different dental philosophies but I really believed my former dentist shared my conservative and preventative approach. I had called around town and everyone wanted to charge $100+ just to review my x-rays, or had some negative reviews. Bottom line... if you are looking for a second opinion or just FEEL like you might be having some unnecessary dental procedures presented like facts... this is an awesome place to get a free look to decide if there's something better out there for you!! My NEW dentist said when we meet in 6 months we can decide if I need to come in every 6 months or 12! He put my fear of needles in my chart with options to help with that anxiety!
