This place has gone seriously downhill since they opened. I've been going here since they opened. They were top notch. Now...not so much. My wife and I had regularly scheduled cleanings and follow ups for fillings, crowns, etc. we noticed we hadn't received reminders for checkups and cleanings. When contacted, they said 'Oh, we don't do that anymore'. So, we scheduled our checkups and cleanings at the earliest available time....2 years out from last time! I just called this morning to get an emergency appointment...severe tooth pain, radiating up my face and swelling in my mouth. No live call answers. I was eventually prompted to leave a message, after 5 minutes on hold. 1 hour so far. No callback. read more

Theresa did my cleaning today & although I had been in a few times before & always had a pleasant experience; she was the one who noticed I still had leftover residue from brackets that I had on 6-7 years ago. I've always enjoyed dealing with Apollo. I believe I've bee with them for many years. I now get my teeth cleaned every 4 months by Dianne, and my dentist is Dr. Berscheid. I had my regular checkup cancelled in May due to the virus. Finally, end of June, I called to see if they had forgotten me. I think they had. Well they told me their next opening was October - 9 months since my last appointment in January. I really need my 4 month appointments. 9 months for an opening for a regular customer??! Totally unacceptable! Hard to believe they picked up all these new patients during the Pandemic! read more

I was nervous to have a deep cleaning of my teeth and gums, but the hygienist I saw was very kind and non-judgmental (since I hadn't had a cleaning in several years...oops). She made it an essentially pain free experience and set up a plan with me on working toward having healthy gums again. The dentist was also very nice and worked efficiently with her assistant to do my fillings. They were always checking with me to make sure I wasn't having pain. The staff at Apollo has made me feel more comfortable than any dentist office in the past, so i will definitely continue going there for my dental health! read more

I have been using Apollo for my dental care for about 20 years. Lately, I had several procedures, including a crown replacement, an implant and a newly crowned tooth. The crown replacement and implant work was done by Dr. Cafarella and the new crown was done by Dr. Schlepp. I would highly recommend their skill and expertise to those searching for a provider for their dental care. The entire office is well run, and the environment is clean and well organized. The billing and appointment folks in the lobby are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I have several things to say here, as we have had several "experiences" at Apollo Dental going there because it was a recommended place to go several years ago when we needed a dentist. First off, Dr. Joseph, pediatric dentist is so lovely, and has always cared for our younger son with compassion and love through his dental anxiety. She helped ease his anxiety about loose teeth and cavities, and we always loved seeing her. She is a wonderful dentist for young children, and frankly, needs to go out on her own. Secondly, Dr King, orthodontist, was great to deal with and provided excellent care for our older son when he needed braces. It was a quick and easy fix for him and he has had straight teeth since. HOWEVER....these comments are more directed at the scheduling staff, and the "bedside manner" of the dentists on the general dentistry side. When my youngest son was "finished" in the pediatric side of the dental office, and I called for an appointment, he was just SWITCHED to the general dentistry side. I would have thought that it would have been noted or explained to me at what age they are "switched" as Dr Joseph was someone there who made him feel comfortable with dentistry. To slam him into a different office, with total strangers after we had worked with Dr. Joseph to help him be calm with dentistry, was an upheaval of emotions for him. I had no clue at what age he would no longer be seen in the pediatric side, and the only explanation that I got from the secretary was that he was too old to be seen by Dr. Joseph. I insisted that he be seen by her one more time to do his last filling, and say "goodbye" and thank you and helped him understand that he had "graduated" from the kids side~ YAY! (even though I was less than impressed at the way this happened.) My boys last cleaning, check and xrays were 5 months ago (this will be an important fact to know later) at Apollo. As my boys were seen in the general dentistry side, their care by hygienists was fine (we loved Molly!), but by the dentists (all different ones~ they never saw the same one) was mediocre, not necessary warm but more of an attitude of "hurry up and get this done". This last month on a Monday, my husband, who had been seen at Apollo for several years, had a very painful tooth and needed an emergency appointment. He called Apollo and explained what was going on, and they said the SOONEST they could see him would be FRIDAY. He was in PAIN and there was no offer of a same day appointment, or any sooner~ unless there was a cancellation and then maybe he could get in (but he also WORKS 12 hour shifts, and needed to be seen before he could work again!). That was that. Too bad you are in pain, but maybe we will see you in a week and no, it does not matter that you have been a patient for years~ we don't really care. We were FLOORED and in trying to figure out what to do, I called a friend who has an affiliation with another dentist firm in town, and she told me to call IMMEDIATELY. This dentist allows time each day for emergency appointments, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A PATIENT of this dentist! My husband saw them the next hour, and had a root canal shortly after, relieving his pain. He was welcomed there, cared for and received excellent care (and Yes, I've already done a YELP review for them) Ironically, when I went to get the mail that morning, there were reminder cards for my boys for their 6 month checkups at Apollo. I was LIVID that the dental clinic we had been going to for so long, couldn't care less about helping my husband, and so there was NO WAY I'd be taking my boys back. I called and spoke to someone at the General dentistry appointment desk, and told her that I would like to know why my husband was basically turned away when he needed help? Why did you not offer him a same day appointment when he was clearly in pain? The person I spoke with became very abusive, and stated that "We offered him an appointment on Thursday, and said that we could call him if we had a cancellation!" I was very angry and told her that another dentist in town cared enough to see him, even though he wasn't even his patient! THAT is how you run a business~ not moving people in and out like cattle. I told her that my boys would NOT be in for check ups and to remove my family information from their files, and that we would not be returning to Apollo. As she was yelling at me, she said "It's FINE! I'll REMOVE YOUR INFO FROM OUR COMPUTER! GOODBYE! and hung up on me. Not "We are so sorry, you are a valued patient, etc" Why should I expect anything more? To make a long story short, we now have a new dentist who cares for us and does caring dental work. They are fixing some spotty work that Apollo did (a filling that was just placed, was already falling out~ THANKS Apollo~ I now get to pay for that filling TWICE!~ AND a cavity that wasn't even seen, which now needs a root canal~ I'll send Apollo the bill. Great dental service for my military check-up. The desk was friendly and knowledgable of the paperwork necessary for the visit and my unit was pleased that I could be seen so quickly. The office was modern and there was no issue with the equipment or x-rays. Would recommend them to anyone needing dental care or a government /military check-up. read more

I was using their services for five years and everything was fair until my tooth pain became severe and I needed emergency care. But first I was seen a month ago for a pain in that tooth and my regular dentist told me to just use a paste for a sensitive tooth. I cannot believe that X-ray did not show anything. Then, a month later, pain was so severe that I called in the morning and they got me in the same day. It was not my dentist but a younger junior dentist telling me that opening the tooth to relieve that pressure will not lead to any improvements for 2-3 days. So I choose not to open the tooth and instead had antibiotics only. Next day, it was Thanksgiving day, my pain was so severe that I called another dentist to open up the tooth. At Apollo they made it sound very complicated to open the office on Saturday after Thanksgiving. As soon as the new dentist opened the tooth (and as it was numbed), the pain went away. So the junior dentist was wrong, or she just felt she was not up to task. Anyway, I ended up doing a root canal a few days later. To conclude: Apollo dental is a big franchise, and many different skills dentists can be assigned to you. It is better to find a medium size dental clinic where they know you well and where you know them. I believe that a smaller dental clinics choose more carefully who works there. read more

I have gone to Apollo Dental Center for many years. They are consistently superb in their care and caring. Both the quality of the dentistry, their expertise, and how much they care for the patient in the process are all great. I have sent family members who have had similarly excellent experiences.
