My two cents - While he may not walk in the door looking like a model wearing a white dress shirt with his sleeves rolled up, he's nothing short of amazing! Technically very capable, fast, and extremely fair and honest as well - As service providers go ... he's the best you'll find. o This may not seem like much, but never once has he tried to upsell me anything I didn't need or want. o I had him do a repair at my mother-in-law's house. The original installer had been out to 'fix' the 3yr old system FOUR TIMES over the course of a year. Tired of ignorance, I called Morgan out and the system has worked perfectly ever since. o I've had him repair an ancient (1980's) system at my office - while I only needed a few more months out of it, it was good to have heat in the winter! o And later I had him replace the system at my office and at my house as well - both jobs done professionally and, I might add, at a decent discount to what others had quoted me. o Finally, I just had him out to replace the system at our mountain cabin - amazing. Did his damndest to schedule an emergency replacement to my spec and on my time (before the next day's 85deg weather hit), and never once complained. I work hard for my money and appreciate people who 1) work hard themselves, and, 2) actually care about their customers (and not just their money) ... that'd be Morgan, in a nutshell.

He may know how to install but couldn't diagnose a flat tire. SO if you have a problem don't call them They will leave your unit unfixed and you out of money for their incompetence. After he left I put it back together and I FOUND THE PROBLEM! USELESS WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY. Morgan was very nice ripping me off though. After I sent him a picture he wanted to tell me what he did before he left. 125.00 TRYING TO SELL NEW UNITS IS ALL HE WAS DOING. After I complained about the cost WITH NO repair he sent me a picture of the wires telling ME what was wrong. BUT HE DIDN'T EVEN FIX IT. I DID! Anyway 125.00 and all I got was a picture of his incompetence. It really surprised getting ripped off. BEWARE!

If we did not go with a new system and wait on the part, his quote included the part fee (even though it was covered by warranty) AND his personal handling fee of $500 for calling in the warranty request. While at the house, the workers with him were also overheard talking about him pulling permits but allowing someone else to do the work. We got leery and decided to get a second opinion. We went with someone else who told us the part was under warranty, they had it replaced in 2 days and needed 10 pounds less Freon than we were quote by the owner. This second option saved us thousands of dollars, even more if we had gone with a completely new system.

The central AC unit does only that room (about 450 sf) and had been serviced recently. It was 21 years old, the same age as the house. I posted a request for good HVAC firms on FaceBook. The one I had been using had quoted over $7000 for a 1.5 ton unit and coil. TIME FOR A SECOND QUOTE. I got over a dozen recommendations on FB, made 3 calls and had 2 quotes by that evening. Both were thousands lower than Carolina Heating, the incumbent. But here's where HIS distinguished themselves from the rest. They said they could have the unit installed the NEXT DAY. The heat index was 100 so I opted for them over the other firm, who could get it done the following week. The crew of 2 and the supervisor, Brandan, showed up promptly at 830AM. The work they did was fast, quality and clean. By 3 PM my office was beginning to get cooler and as I sit here now it's right at the setpoint of 75F. Thanks to Brent Stokes for a timely recommendation as he had work done by HIS just a week or 2 prior and raved about them. Thanks also to Sandra in HIS office for moving other jobs around to accommodate "Sweltering Barry."

(I wanted to see their exact measurements and pressure test stats) They could not find the air flow problem for months and kept blaming the the issues on imported parts and the energy company for high bills. Other companies had to come fix several of their mistakes on the duct work job and the unit installation from a few years ago.
