I found Bob on Craigslist. Bob arrived on time for the free estimate. He gave us a reasonable flat rate for removing and installation of sink, garbage disposal and faucet. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but Bob was helpful. He gave me some ideas and gave me the option to purchase my own product or he can purchase the product (you have to know what you want) with the labor cost into the free estimate. I tried his prices first and realize I can do better on my own and he was fine with that. I bought my faucet on eBay, sink & rack on homedepot.com and garbage disposal at Sears. Second wanted $600 and to tear out an entire wall of the tiled shower (leaving us re-tiling a huge shower). A couple more handymen said it couldn't be fixed. So far so good. I called Bob and he was able to come out to my home the next morning. He called and was running early, which I like. He repaired my shower knob & another part (from 1979) in a jiffy. His vibe feels honest. A little more than I wanted to pay however he has to make a living too. The other places I called charged about the same. Only thing is I wish I had seen the $20 off coupon discount on their website when it was time to pay. 5/23/18: I had the exact same problem with the same part and Bob came to replace the cartridge in my moms shower. I didn't ask for an emergency visit or anything. He charged me $220 to replace the plastic cartridge in the shower knob which HE fixed the first time. I was just filing my receipts and notice the receipt he gave me was for 24 hr emergency service which explains why it cost extremely high. What a fantastic experience. I called Bob at 7:30pm, he answered promptly. Our water heater had stopped working, and he put me at ease immediately. On the phone, he said "Lets try to get the Pilot lit". He stood by as I worked my way out to the water heater and politely walked me through the procedure, staying with me for several minutes as I tried several times to get it lit. The pilot light wouldn't stay lit. He told me that the Home Depot unit wasn't top quality and I could call the 800 number on it for help tomorrow, and said it's probably the Thermocouple. I thanked him for his time and he was polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Great service from a guy who wasn't going to get a nickle from me...just goes to show you the character of the man. This review is technically for his son Kyle but I figured I should put it out there anyway. Bottom line, everything about how Kyle did this job is exactly how the other five star reviews described Bob's work. He gave me two quotes based upon the difficulty of the job, showed up on time, hung in there through what I consider a pain in the rear job and stuck to his quote. Further, Kyle is quite obviously honest, hard working and a hungry young entrepreneur. I am pleased to refer his business. He got me back in business here so I definitely support his. Bob is great! He came to my home a couple months ago and fixed our tub that had an extremely low flow faucet. He is fair, honest, and trust worthy. His prices are good and he does his job well. I called him today to see if he was able to fix my touch kitchen faucet. unfortunately he suggested me to someone more fitting for the job.
