Excellent service from the moving crew, Bill, Jay, Steve & Kevin. They were super efficient and courteous, quick and helpful. They were actually ahead of schedule and Bill called to give the heads up. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the lack of communication from Gary, the moving consultant. Our main source of communication was via email and he took sometimes days to reply and at some points didn't answer my questions thoroughly, or at all. He seemed much more concerned with getting payment, then answering my questions. My belongings were being moved from Ontario to BC, which is stressful in itself, but then to get no definitive answers to basic questions was a bit nerve racking. Had them bring my household furniture from Ontario to Alberta. Several items were broken and I asked for reimbursement. Was given an offer for a $250 token payment for damages to dressers, desk antique crock and several dishes. No follow up when I suggested that amount was not reasonable for the losses incurred. Also I had negotiated a rate for the move then when calculating the final amount was charged a higher rate. Should have done it myself - was hoping a professional moving company would be a bit more professional!! read more

My review from earlier today seems to have been taken down. I might have called these movers some choice names in my last review so maybe that is why it was taken down. But I stand by my anger and my conviction that this moving company screwed me over royally today - on the actual day I was supposed to move Let me explain. My first clue that there were serious things wrong with this outfit was right from the beginning when they kept on saying they would get back to me with information I needed for the move but I always had to chase them down for it. Right down to Finding out what time the truck would arrive. I had to chase them down for that info too. Then, on the day of the move they yet AGAIN called me for directions though I had given it to them twice already. Then the driver had to call FOUR times from the road, each time getting more and more surly with me because HE couldn't find my farm. Then when they finally did show up, they told me - not asked me - to tie up my black lab. They were all east Indian and they seemed terrified of Greta. Regardless, their culture might make them afraid of gentle dogs but in my books if you are afraid of dogs then you shouldn't work in a position that has you going to strangers homes to load their belongings onto a truck. No brainer, in my opinion. So I refused to tie Greta up. Now, they had been contracted for THREE hours of packing before the move. Their quote for $3000 to move me from Two Hills to Rocky Mountain House included 3 hours of packing. But after looking at my place, and I had already done most of the packing already for them, they refused to do any packing and since I obviously wasnt ready with everything packed, they just got in their truck and drove away. I might have screamed some choice unrepeatable insults as they drove away. So then I had to call and cancel all the friends that were in the middle of driving to come help. One couple from St. Albert was already at Sherwood Park when they got my call to turn around. Lots of people had arranged their schedules to help me and I had bern canvassing my friends for help for three months. One reason I need all this help is because I am disabled and walk with a Walker most of the time. Now, though, after this fiasco with Provincial Movers, I have no one left to help me move. Everyone is working on the only upcoming day I could find a new mover on such short notice. I have a new company booked for this Tuesday and already they appear much more professional and on the ball than Provincial Movers. And I have noticed that every time this company gets a bad review here on Google that they deny that the person was even their client. My AISH worker has a copy of their estimate/quote. So don't believe them if they discount this review as being bogus. This is a true account of the unconscionable events that happened at my home here in Two Hills County. I was definitely a customer. Best Service - I was very pleased with the service that this company provided for my long distance move. They took great care of my belongings and my vehicle. All arrived at my new home in perfect condition. The staff are very professional and went out of their way to explain everything from the initial booking to the final delivery. I do not recommend this moving company (Provincial Moving and storage - 7804696233) because of the following reasons: 1) Their first estimate is totally misleading: After calling to several moving companies the Provincial Moving company gave me the lowest rate. They told me that for a one bedroom from Edmonton to Ottawa it is about $2100 and if we need packing, it would be flat $500. We called and gave them the details of our belongings, they increased the initial estimate and gave us electronically, it was about $3000 without packing! Gary was the guy we talked with. He told on the phone that the real cost would be the same as the estimate and the only line might change is the weight, which is 70 cents for each pound! After loading, they sent us immediately a bill more than $5000 and all of the lines were changed and they told us that this is what it is!! They deliberately give you a lower estimate but the final bill is much more than that. BE CAREFUL! 2) Not optimized packing! We asked them just to pack our fragile dishes. They took 2 super big cartons and one of them got full! The other carton was about ¼ full and they asked for something else. They filled the rest of the carton with plastic and very light and non-fragile stuff. BUT they charged us for two big cartons! Instead of those big cartons, they could use one small and one big! These are extra charges for nothing .... 3) They lost one box: The worst thing in moving is that you stuff is missing or damaged. Their inventory was wrong. They did not put any tag on one box when packing and they did not find another box on the day of delivery. They told that this box with no tag is the missing box! They told that you have all the boxes!! However, after unpacking the boxes, I figured out one box is missing. And after lots of follow ups, eventually, they found our box! 4) They do not reply your request emails and no sorry for their damaged or missing items: It was very hard to follow up with them to find our missing box. When we called them, they told: "email us". But no one was replying to the email. We had to call them again, please read our email! We had to call them several times, and they did not feel responsible or sorry for the missing box. They never apologized for that! 5) They do not care about damaged stuff: Some of our items were damaged and I sent them their picture. They never replied us .... read more

I can not fault Provincial Moving and Storage. Greg was pleasant to deal with, the price was very reasonable, the guys arrived on time, they were efficient and generally great guys. We had already moved the majority of the "easy" stuff ourselves so it was only the heavy/bulky items left for them. Over Promise - Under Deliver. Worst experience ever with a moving company. They quoted 7-10 days delivery time from Calgary to Hamilton, actual time was 25 for our furniture and an additional 5 days for them to deliver my motorcycle. On day 10, I called and was told our furniture was in North Bay and should be delivered tomorrow. I had to call the next day to find out what's happening and after 4 hours of searching for my stuff, was told it just left Alberta the day before (remember, it was in North Bay). I enquired as to the weight of my load to which they stated was 7990 pounds. When I challenged them, they came back with 5460 pounds...that's over 2500 less then what they were going to originally bill me for. Remember, you need to pay upfront prior to them unloading you so in my case, they would have charged me over $1400 for the wrong weight count. My wife and I are in our 60's and although we were not willing to play camping in our empty house while we wait for our furniture to arrive, we did find the most affordable hotel to stay in. We did budget for a hotel stay up to June 6, 2016 but we actually had to stay in the hotel until June 22nd, that's an additional 16 days cost due to the delay from the movers combined with promised dates for delivery to later be delayed once again. This is a terrible company. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They repeatedly let me down with regards to my move without explanation or apology. I think they take on too much work and then can't fulfil their responsibilities. Because of their bad business practice I was forced to find another mover at. Very short notice which did cost me quite a lot more money. I had to move whether they were ready or not. I booked a month ahead with them and thought everything was organised. Moving is stressful enough without these people making it worse for you. I had to give them a rating but actually if this were a truthful rating it would have minus numbers in front of it. read more
