I have used this company for the second time. This time moving within the city of Edmonton. The movers were on time and worked very efficiently. They were able to get everything done in a few hours since we didn't have much to move. All of our items were moved without any damage. The movers were very friendly and made sure no walls were damaged in the old or new place. Dealing with the office was very easy.. they discussed the pricing and the time it would take. We had a pretty challenging move. From a house to an apartment condo with an elevator. The movers were amazing. They made sure everything was protected with pads and taped. Do not recommend. Delivery people brought way too large of a truck for the described property. Money grab I must guess. Very thick accents made communication on site a real challenge. Stored my property for $183/month. Charge $65 if you need to retrieve something in that time. Delivered to the new location and broke the tv and damaged drywall while moving. Offers $25 discount. I was extremely dissatisfied by the company and it's movers. I hired 3 men plus a 5 ton truck at $175/hr to move me 6 houses away from where I live. I moved 2 bedrooms with only 1 big dresser and 1 small one altogethe. I also had 2 couches and 3 armchair, a dining table and 4 chairs, various artwork, etc. The movers arrived 20 minutes late and it took them 12.5 hours plus .5 hour for transpor which including $35 for paper to wrap things +GST=$2442. My man friend worked along side of these movers for 8.5 hour. These movers were slow, tired, made me go to pick them up lunch because they couldn't take the truck, dallied constantly, broke a leg off a $1000 chair which will cost me $300 to repair, spoke a foreign language in front of both my friend and me and drove the truck into a 20' spruce tree in front of my new landlord's house!!! When I told all these issues to the dispatching boss he would only take $422 off the bill. I paid $100 to the landlord for the tree. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!! On our recent move, we hired these movers. Due to circumstances we had to reschedule and they were awesome and accommodating (no extra charges as well). They were on time the day of the move and were careful of our items. Since we lived in a loft and moved to a new loft, at each location there were a lot of stairs. So far in unpacking nothing is broken, chipped or damaged. The 2 gentlemen that moved us were super polite and the whole move (we moved a lot of items including appliances) took the two of them about 6 and a half hours... we forced them to take a break and have some refreshments and we paid just over $500. Well worth the money! Will use them again if we ever have to do a big move. read more

They arrived about 20 minutes late, which in the time-frame we had was a pretty big deal, but not the end of the world. They were polite, came and assessed our belongings, and immediately got to work. We had done all of our own packing, so it was just moving things. They were careful with our belongings (we haven't finished unpacking yet but we didn't witness anything to make us concerned) and took their time in the hallways of our condo building which I appreciated. They arrived at our new place about 20-30 minutes after we did (they had to finish packing up the truck and obviously drive slower than us), and immediately began bringing things up. They took a small lunch break partway through the day, which they included in our total time. I wasn't sure how I felt about paying for them to take a break (at $100 an hour) but they worked hard and I just factored that in when I tipped them. We have an awful lot of stuff, so the total of 6.5 hours didn't seem unreasonable. I was expecting it to be a couple hours faster, but they did work hard and I can't really find any fault with what they did. I would likely hire them again, movers can be really dodgy and these guys were pretty good. All of my things made it (I think!) and there were no last minute hidden fees or surprises. read more

I try my best to see the best, but this one got to me. The worst review was them not showing at the time frame provided without even a call to let the customer know they are running behind. As moving can be unpredictable, we had to text them to ask where they were as we were waiting for two hours, the response - they were trying to make us "the customer" seem like the bad guy. We had scheduled a time to do a move, when it came to the allotted time, I texted to see when they were going to show - it turned into an attack. The time I got back from them moved to 3:30 - 4:00 pm, I pointed out that we're moving into an apartment so we don't want to make the move too late (for obvious reasons), the owner promptly cancelled the move and told me to find someone else because my restrictions we're too much. The text messaging dialog that followed was a pure effort to deflect responsibility from the company to me the customer. This is not the first time I have used this company. Let me say the first experience was a good one, but I believe the company may have been taken over by someone else, and the service is now gotten really bad I would say rotten. Customer service is not Management's priority nor is courtesy! Would I recommend this company? The answer: Absolutely NOT. read more

After making a somewhat last minute decision to move, Riteway was one of the companies I contacted on a Tuesday morning for a Saturday move-in date. Of the four companies I spoke to, Riteway had one of the most competitive rates, with a $100/hour charge for two men and a truck, plus a $100 travel fee and three hour minimum. Moving the majority of items and furniture from our two bedroom condo to a house took six hours for $735, and we felt that it was definitely money well spent. Booking on the phone was very easy, and the man I spoke to was able to answer all my questions. The movers arrived at 9:55 am for a 10:00 am booking, and got to work immediately after assessing our unit. The two guys worked efficiently the whole time we were with them, and no items were lost or damaged. Our walls, floors and stairs were protected, and they easily navigated our unpaved front walk. Part of the contract specifies a five minute break for every hour of work, and a half hour break every four hours. As a human, I understand that this is totally reasonable (and they were working hard) but sitting and waiting during their paid breaks was a little tough when I was totally stressed out over the whole day and just wanted to get everything done ASAP. I also would have appreciated if they had taken the shrink wrap off our furniture after it was delivered to our new house, it was kind of a pain to find our scissors or a knife and cut it all off ourselves. Overall though I'm pretty pleased with Riteway, and I'm glad we hired them. The value for cost was high and they did a great job moving our belongings safely. read more

I booked Riteway and they were really courteous and friendly. After booking our appointment we were all set to move. However, life happens and very suddenly we were moving provinces to Ontario. In the rush of everything we forgot to contact Riteway and cancel our move. Barely 4 days before we called and explained our situation. He totally understood our reason and didnt mind not charging us for cancelling since the clause is they charge for 4 hours work if you cancel within 2 weeks. These guys were AWESOME. Used them twice in a week to consolidate two places into one shared new place. Once of the moves was local, the other from Calgary. Their rates were very good, their guys showed up exactly on time and they treated all our belongings with lots of respect. Not a single thing broke and not a single scratch on a wall. They were fast, very friendly and we couldn't be happier. I used these guys for their moving services when me and my wife moved from West edmonton to the Southside. These guys are awesome. They were punctual and very professional. They were very careful with the moving all of our furniture and made sure not to scuff or scratch any walls while hauling stuff in and out. Hi. I would not use this company again. It took them 9 hours to move us from Edmonton to Sherwood Park. They did not bring wardrobe boxes as promised and at the last minute all the clothing needed to be packed in garbage bags. In addition, we had a small house (two bedrooms, one living room set) and nine hours seems a bit excessive to me. I can't imagine how long it would take if they had to pack up multiple rooms (bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, kitchen appliances etc). These guys are amazing. Second time we've used them and for the second time - not a single thing was broken, cracked, or damaged and no damage to our walls or floors. These guys are serious pros. TERRIBLE! Please do not use this service! The delivery dates got changed a few times which resulted in me sleeping on the floor for an extra night, but the main disaster was my furniture - it is completely ruined, everything from scratches and marks on leather couches, to deep long scratces in glass to damaged wood. I complained and received an insulting offer that wouldn't pay for one dining chair. The more time goes on the more damage is discovered. I don't have the time or money to take them small claims court and I'm sure that's how they get away with this. Everyone i dealt with was polite enough but the bottom line was my belongings are ruined and the compensation offered was totally insulting. read more
