The Saint Sauveur location is a star child of this facelift. You're entering a 64,600 sq. ft. showpiece that is bright, well lit and spacious. Upon entering you'll first notice a massive patisserie counter with cupcakes, macarons and other gourmandises. Fresh produce will be a few steps behind. The new concept has a selection of "boutiques" along the perimeter, like a deli counter, charcuterie, oyster/shrimp bar and cheese counter with the prettiest 2 feet tall glass fridge containing an impressive array of local and imported cheeses. There is also a Joe Fresh collection of apparel for adults and children. The Loblaws/Provigo brand excels in going above and beyond to turn grocery shopping into an experience. The food is premium and gourmet, sampling stations are delish. Everything was taken into consideration, there's nothing boring or traditional about this store, even the floor is a popping orange. To make your shopping trip more enjoyable, the couple times I went over the holidays, they had a live jazz band playing! If you were dragged along and didn't feel like shopping, take a seat at the cantine and make use of their free wifi! As you walk in, you are taken into the groceries fresh deli products and the lady greeted us at the start. Fresh smoked/ dried pork delights waiting to be grabbed. We asked to try and they gladly gave us a sample after we tried it we did not hesitate to purchase a large amount. They had anything you can think of fine selection of pork, beef, cheese and fish .. lots of smoked goods mmzzsm smoked salmon fillets, russian black bread , caviar, Cabbage rolls ( Golubsti) , pickled or marinate cabbage galore ( kapusta kapchonaya) dairy products and russian Chocolates. The price tag is a little high but it's imported so you pay more for the good stuff not too much more it's standard pricing for a delicatessen. They even had Pickled barrels of Pickles and green unripe tomatoes to chose from it's rare to find these now a days as everything is in a can or a jar so was pretty appreciative that they kept it served fresh this way from a barrelled jar, There's plenty of interesting and delicious sweets and dry goods imported as well. This is a private label SIM card sold by the company that runs Maxi. The service was a complete rip-off--as in outright fraud. It did not work. I was unable to log into any account to use the service. I could not download the managing app on my iPhone. I don't expect the regulators to do anything about this until they get publicly embarrasesed in the press. 2. Last week I bough a quart of Quelbon 1% milk that was curdled by the expiry date. For $2.08 it is not worth returning to the store to confront them, which may be why they sell expired dairy products. Bottom line: this store should be shut down.

Maxi has excellent prices for many items, including low prices for bulk items. Sometimes prices are better than Costco, and you don't have to buy a boatload's worth. They carry many President's Choice and No Name brand products, and have great sales every week. My favourite new discovery is Joe Fresh, their line of affordable clothing and accessories. I have spent a ridiculous amount of money at Joe Fresh on cute kids' shoes, winter pyjamas, jeans, tees, and blankets, as well as several items for me. Along with the quality of items, the best thing about the clothing - and other household or pharmacy goods -- is the convenience: I can pick up these items at the same time that I do my grocery shopping, and not have to make another trip to the store or mall. For a busy mom of two youngsters, that alone makes shopping here worth it.

This IGA - aside from being amazing in all the ways I described in my original review - seems to be setting the standard for how to properly operate under the current conditions so I wanted to share in the hopes of other grocery stores following their lead. When you arrive here, all the doors are closed except for one and when you enter that one there's a portable handwashing station like you'd see outside portopotties at a festival. So everyone is washing their hands as they enter. Then they are given a cart which has just been wiped down by the staff. Staff are also circulating wiping down the handles of fridge doors etc. Cashiers are using sanitizer between every customer and as you leave your cart is immediately wiped down again. This loving attention will save lives in our community and I really really appreciate it.
