My fam and I carted our butts out to a 5th birthday at Teamworks yesterday, and it was a pretty…read moregood time! The building itself is just about what you'd expect from an indoor soccer place- an old looking, corrugated metal structure. There's a couple arcade games in the lobby, and two or three smaller function rooms with bounce houses, Wiis and party tables set up. The kids had a great time bouncing, and the pizza was slightly better than what you'd get at a Chuck E Cheese. The staff was really kind, and did a good job of keeping the party moving along. The place was also pretty clean, and you can tell they enjoy their work. The room we were in had five TVs mounted to the wall with Wiis set up on them, and I'm subtracting a star because three of them weren't working at all- kind of a bummer. I pawned my baby off on some unsuspecting relatives to take a minute to play Mario Galaxy, only to have a small child grab the Wii-mote out of my hand almost instantly... I wanted to say something like "get your own game" and grab it back, but I could hardly make a case against sharing when there were only two working Wiis. Teamworks is waaaaay too far a drive for us to plan a party here, but if you live in the area and don't want to host a kid's birthday at your own house, this place is a solid choice.

One of my friends recommend I join. He has been telling me to join for more than a year and I…read morefinally had the time to make it work - I signed up for volleyball. I've been having so much fun. Going out after each game with my teammates is great. I've also gotten to know players of other team. I'm looking forward to other events that S3 is offering and next season. I know once softball comes back around I will be signing up for that, too. I also want to mention that communication with Jess has been amazing. She is very responsive to questions and concerns. Even in the beginning she made sure we all knew what was going on before games started for the season.

I signed up for the Softball league beginning April 23 2023 on Tuesdays after attending a social…read moreevent, where I got the opportunity to meet a couple of other folks who were interested. Despite registering on time and paying the full amount (referral coupon s3friends did not work), I was not added to the mailing list and not assigned any team, and had no direction on where/how to proceed. I tried calling the numbers listed on the Facebook/Instagram pages for further information, but the calls never went through. I then reached out via email following the first week of play, but received no response. Finally, I reached out to the phone number (listed as s3 leagues corp.) on my payment receipt only to get an irritated response from the organizer asking me not to contact her on her personal cell phone. Repeated follow ups produced delayed and shallow email responses. After this entire ordeal, I was not added to the mailing list and was not notified of the cancellation during the rain out last week. I finally got fed up of such inconsideration and asked for a refund, to which I received no response. Last I checked, I have been blocked from the Instagram page for following up on the matter. This has been a terrible experience for me because at one point, I was eager to join this league and meet new people and make friends in the same manner that I did in the social meetup prior. The organizer of this group, Jessica, has proven to be incompetent, inconsiderate and disrespectful, and I would certainly not have even thought about joining this group had I known that she was the one behind the scenes.

Since my first review of SBS, I've participated in 2 Fit Leagues, the 90's themed "Saved by the…read moreBoat" cruise, and am currently in a Softball League. I've had a great time at SBS leagues and events, and highly recommend them! The Fit League is basically a boot camp while competing against other teams of people for who's fitness level improves the most. The sessions I attended for that were both at Boston Athletic Club and the trainers were great - motivating & pushing your work out, but not at the expense of anyone getting hurt. My teammates were really friendly, and you could often find us relaxing at the bar in the gym after a workout. (SBS is serious about the "social" part of it's name.) The Saved by the Boat cruise was a 3 hour "booze cruise" type event in Boston Harbor. I enjoyed the music, but was sad the DJ didn't play my requests for MMMBop by Hanson or the Marcarana. I'm not a big drinker, so I wish the bar lines weren't so long that they stretched onto the dance floor. The Softball League I'm in plays Tuesday nights at Teddy Ebersol's Fields (off of Storrow Drive) in Boston. It's my 1st time playing softball, so I worried the team would be too competitive for me. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Everyone is very friendly & welcoming. The "veterans" give helpful tips on batting, but don't get mad at anyone who strikes out. While on the bench, the team stays very engaged - cheering for our players batting or making a fielding play. The games are such fun nights out that I'm planning on joining another SBS league when this one is over. If you're looking for a fun way to get out and meet new people, come to an SBS event or join one of their leagues. You will be pleasantly surprised by how welcoming other participants & SBS staff will be.

Now they are profiting off of my cancellation because they have my money and are still able to sell my spot to somewhat else before the league starts.
