The course itself is on an incredibly picturesque setting with five different ponds, elevation, and Christmas Trees. The four hole layouts range from fun but challenging to super technical and crazy long which is what I went for just to get the experience. I got 3 evening/dusk rounds in while in Mass for work last July and not surprisingly lost a few discs. Much to my surprise I get a call from the course three months later asking for my address so they can mail the discs they found. Three days later the discs are waiting for me on my front porch in California. Can't beat that service!

They explain the course and what disc was what. It's kind of addicting. It's rough terrain and you do walk quite a bit. It's a great "nice weather" activity especially in Massachusetts if it ain't snowing it's nice. This place is located in a plaza so there's plenty of parking. We've hiked here many times and enjoy the lake trail which encircles most of the lake. There used…read moreto be a bridge allowing easy access across one end of the lake, but that is gone, and it's a long hike to make it all the way around. There also a dam at one end, and beautiful views of the lake. The lake is 200 acres, and the park includes 24 campsites, a boat launch, picnic tables and shelters, an 18-hole disc golf course, miles of trails, boating, hunting, and fishing. The lake purportedly offers largemouth and smallmouth bass, pickerel, perch, carp, and sunfish. The trails are now nicely marked, thanks to an Eagle Scout project by Giovanni Couture, Troop 66 in May 2022. The project also added benches with views of the lake. The footing can be a little challenging with rocks, roots, downed trees, etc. In the fall, the fallen leaves can make it even trickier, and quite slippery when wet. This is a very pleasant park to visit, hike, or fish. There has always been ample parking when we visited, and I think swimming is prohibited.

Rhode Island has 5 giant trolls in various parks, and Ninigret has 2 of them: Greta Granite & Erik Rock. We stayed to the main paths as there are a lot of ticks around. And we saw a couple of fat turkeys who are probably feasting on the ticks. There are tennis courts, picnic area, a playground, observatory & senior center on the grounds. And plenty of parking.

Spent the…read moreafternoon in Rhode Island as an excuse to go exploring for the troll hunt which is gaining popularity, there is five giant trolls hidden across the RI state. Created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, these massive sculptures are made from recycled materials and aim to promote conservation. The trolls can be found in various locations. I got to see only 2 of them that I can cross off my mapping for troll's list. * Charlestown's Ninigret Park is home to the Erik Rock and Greta Granite. It's accessible via trails and wooded paths. * Erik Rock lounges beside Little Ninigret Pond. * Greta Granite is located further along a wooded path marked by clues. It's a lot of fun to get on the mapping of the trolls and hunt them out all over the world when you're visiting the areas. It's amazing to experience these pieces of art created and designed by Thomas Dambo.

When buying one disc + shipping the price…read morecomes out to about the price of a normal disc, but I'm sure when you buy 5+ discs the savings are bigger. I ordered a Discraft Pulse (discontinued by Discraft) and it came in good condition. The shipping package was great too, as it was wrapped multiple times with paper, as well as two pieces of cardboard on each side of the disc to ensure it to not bend. Great customer service too. Will be using Marshall Street again for future purchases.

This was the first time at this venue. It hasn't a large outdoor and indoor facility. We were this…read morenight indoors. The atmosphere is very open with high tables and high stools - some of the stools are available with backs for greater comfort. This night it was open mic night and there were a variety of guitarists/singers performing throughout the evening. The facility has their own kitchen and the facility was able to provide a variety of appetizer bites- burgers- personal size pizzas- hotdogs and salads available for cost. There were plenty of choices of beverages alcoholic and nonAlcoholic. All of the food could be ordered via your phone and paid through your phone. We were a party of 12 and we had a great time!!

The vibe was chill, and the setup included both indoor and outdoor seating. It felt more like a casual hangout spot than a destination, very chill. It was like a Parkville Market or low-key brewery, but without its own beer or signature vibe. The bar only had one bartender, which made for a super long line so I ended up skipping a second drink. I do not even remember what was on their menu but they are supposed to have food trucks. The day we were there the truck was very late so we did not have that experience. We had popcorn and hot dogs. Great, fresh popped popcorn! I did notice a lot of kids running around outside, which as a parent, I appreciated. It's good to know this is a spot I could bring my kid on a sunny day and still enjoy some adult time outdoors. One major con? The bathrooms. They were in the basement, and the whole setup was kind of weird. Think padlocks on doors, maze-like hallways... Would I go back? Yes, maybe, but only on a hot day with live music and good company.

I am doing my part to put this new course on the map of places to play some disc golf in not only…read moreWestern Massachusetts but in all of New England. This is a newly completed 18 hole course that has been built by volunteers who have a deep passion for the sport of Disc Golf. We have cleared all the brush from the playing field but still have plenty to drag deeper off the edge. There are still some stumps that need to be cut/lopped down too (especially the back 10) but overall you can walk through with no issues. At this point the tee pads are dirt but if a grant gets passed there should be some nice new ones sooner than later with the potential of having two pins for each hole too. We do have the acreage for another 18 holes but for the time being we are going to finish cleaning up this one. As for the course itself, it is a par 63 unless it has been changed without my knowing. It plays out like so: 01 - 4 02 - 3 03 - 3 04 - 4 05 - 3 06 - 4 07 - 4 08 - 4 09 - 3 10 - 4 11 - 3 12 - 4 13 - 4 14 - 3 15 - 3 16 - 3 17 - 3 18 - 4 As most woodland courses, it has its trees that will make you want to pull your hair out. It has a unique layout where the first hole starts by overlooking the soccer field then off into the woods you go. Two is a downhill throw with a unique hanging pin. Three is a short throw across the mountain then 4-9 you make your way uphill with some holes that have plenty of potential to be a favorite. At 10 you get the feeling that a tornado ripped through with how open it is. From there 11, 12 and 13 go back across the mountain as you start to go down hill. 14 and 15 are downhill throws with 15 getting a view of the town. 16 is a short throw to the left with lots of small trees and 17 is another downhill throw with an open green. Best of luck when putting on 18! I hope you use my review as a guid to make the trip out here and give it a go. There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat in town too before and or after you play, check out my reviews if you are new to the area and want to support some local spots. I will guarantee this will be a 5 star course in the future but for now there is still plenty of work that needs to be done. Course flows nicely around the hill and is relatively challenging. Lots of broken glass at the hole near the basketball courts so if you bring your dog keep an eye out!

Newton Hill is a fairly new, 18 hole, Chainstar-basketed course. I went here with a couple of…read morefriends to check it out, on what turned out to be a chilly, but almost a near perfect day for a couple rounds. First impressions: This thing really is a hill. A big one. If you feel like you need to get some work on your legs in, this in the place to do it. The course winds up and down and around the entire side, dropping you off feet from where you started. The holes average to be about 300 (give or take) feet, with a couple of outliers (155 for the shortest and 420 for the longest). It looks like a lot of effort was put into getting this upland in order. Based on the number of times one of us tripped, they removed a good number of small (inch-ish thick) trees to open up the holes a bit. As you walk, keep your eyes open, but that tends to be the case in most of the courses one might play in a wooded area like this. I noticed a good split of left and right banked holes. More right then a lot of the courses I've play in the Mass/CT area. Which I found to be good for me, as it gave me plenty of opportunities to work on my (right hand/backhand) anhyzer. The signage was sufficient, but could use improvement (which is what I have heard is in the works). The same goes for the tee pads. Most (if not all - don't remember for sure) have rubber mats but no framing, but that really isn't an issue in my opinion. Just an aesthetics thing, which come summer, when the trees all have leaves again, doesn't matter anyway since I can imagine the place being pretty enough. Overall, I don't think too many of the holes really stand out, but it was definitely a solid course. The changes in elevation adding to the challenge on some holes, either forcing yourself to throw short and not over drive on the down slopes or making you put the extra bit into getting it up there. With some of the tighter gaps, it also works accuracy about more then those courses with the large open fields. Personally, I could see myself enjoying this course while getting a little bit of practice on some of the basics at the same time (hyzer / anhyzer / low, level, and straight). As it is, I'd say Newton Hill is a 3.5 star course, but I'm going with the 4 for the potential I see in it once it is completed. I am eager to add this nice new addition into my course rotation and look forward playing it again.

Borderland is a wonderful place. I usually only stay on the main trail for walking and running…read more Plenty of grass areas to play catch or picnic, plus benches and picnic tables throughout. Relaxing, quiet, and so many nice spots to enjoy the ponds, waterfall, spring noises of frogs, and foliage in the fall. I ride my bike or run or walk through regularly and enjoy it. I have also taken the kids to some of the mansion tours and the presentations about nature in the park building. Enjoyed those too.
