I was discharged one hour ago today, Sunday afternoon, October 3rd. From the moment my wheel chair rolled into the Emergency Room, I was treated well by all of the staff. Dr Alexander and Dr Kennedy took a shotgun approach to the evaluation process to find out why I had a 103.9 temperature after they realized that I tested negative for both strains of the Flu and Covid-19. Once they determined my diagnosis, I was moved to the second floor. The staff on the second floor were phenomenal and their professionalism is worthy of praise. Dr Manlapaz, Dr Stevens, and especially Dr Penoyar took excellent care of me. They were always friendly, took the time to listen, and always answered questions. The Nursing staff were great too. A special shout out to Teela, Luba, Cynthia, and Nikki. Last but not least, the Support Staff (i.e., CNAs, Kitchen staff, Imaging, etc.) were also very polite, professional, and gave nothing less than 100% while doing their jobs. In short, I am so grateful that we are all blessed to have such a wonderful Hospital staffed by so many kind and professional people eager to give all of us their best when we are at the lowest point in our lives. Previously Case management said pt would stay in hospital for a couple days after concern was brought up, while they worked with a facility and all of the sudden said the pt is ready to go home because they said "they were ready"? Here's an update for ya, the still confused patient went home and has fallen twice in 24 hours and now the elderly spouse is injured. Oh and how about Dr's being available to talk to family members and spouses, listen to our concerns and address them....where you at? Great work Providence

Once I finally saw the nurse practitioner, who was again, very nice, my conversation and transaction with her took one minute. Yup. I waited five hours for one minute. I had to take a sick day from work to cover my time sitting there. A day of my life I will never get back. The system here doesn't work. I get some people need more help than others but you would think the "easy" people as I was told I was numerous times, could be in and out and out of their hair instead of turning people away as they came in later in the day because they were full. Why would an hour go by and no one in the waiting room was called? One lady came in describing a heart attack and she was turned away. I felt horrible for her. I hope she is ok.

I had some really bad symptoms and was able to get a same-day appointment due to a cancelation. I was scared, and the front desk was very caring and professional. The doctor who treated me was also amazing; he was very thorough, listened to me, and ran a number of tests. Turned out I had an infection and he also discovered some other issues through additional testing that my last checkup at another provider failed to discover. THE URGENT CARE STAFF WAS AMAZING! And even the lab tech was extremely friendly. I am shocked at these other reviews. I am guessing that guy who used to work there prompted these people to leave fake reviews because Steck medical Group is very professional, personable, and they know how to relate to their patients while providing the best care.

His wife Liz did the ultra sound within minutes of him looking at the lump. I had an appointment today with a lot of concerns that I've been dealing with. Courtney, Liz and Dr.Smith are always willing to listen to me about how I'm feeling and what I'm dealing with. My mother, father and myself all go to this office. However for basic services the price is right. They are open late on Thursdays. Dr Olson was compassionate and caring as she extracted two teeth. She listened to all my concerns and got me through it. Again, no frills. I paid $50 per tooth which I could afford. Elsewhere I would have been charged $450 per tooth. Every staff I've interacted with has been warm yet professional and respectful.

I called back and am still not convinced they have corrected the paperwork as they never called to verify anything with me. I will say, the Dr Brandon was nice. He seemed caring and knowledgeable. I actually got hopeful when I was called into an exam room by a nurse, but that excitement faded away in the 45 minutes I waited for the doctor to "be right in". Nobody took any vitals, I never stepped on a scale & nobody ever actually even looked at my injury, so I fail to understand how any diagnosis that was made could be valid. I'm still waiting (several days later) for an orthopedic referral to go through, but of course I had to do the legwork to ensure that was even happening. Oh and fun fact; if you ask what's taking so long for the referral, the staff will become instantly annoyed with you & irate that they need to explain the process of referrals having to go through insurance before being sent to orthopedics! I commented that I guess I would just be sitting around in pain for a few more days & was hung up on. Don't waste your time at this place if you don't have to. Unless some serious changes are made that encourages their staff to do their jobs with the compassion & kindness that this community deserves, I will be seeking urgent care in Olympia from now on.
