We couldn't be more satisfied. We love Felicia. She is very attentive, timely, encouraging, organized and knowledgeable. She has gotten us through rashes, pneumonia and other ailments. Chaplain Felix is fairly new to us. But, we look forward to his visits because he is lively and fun, while at the same time, spiritual. Steve taught me a lot of meditation techniques that have been a great help to me. Ramon brightens mom's day and has guided me through the much needed respite process. Vitas is an unprofessional company in my opinion. We hired them to care for a patient who is…read moreparalyzed from the waist down. The CNA was hired to visit 2x a week prior to the time the daily caregiver arrives. The CNA was late or didn't show up at least 60% of the time. When she did, her excuses were ridiculous. When brought to her attention, her response was belligerent and argumentative. She was completely taking advantage of an elderly woman who cannot advocate for herself. All the while claiming to have been here, being paid to have done her job. After being told her services were no longer needed, she showed up with the RN assigned to the case as if she hadn't been told to no longer come. They both told false stories to try to cover for her. It was a very unpleasant experience for the patient and her caregivers. To blatantly ignore your termination and to lie as if your patient and her caregivers have some sort of mental deficit is unacceptable. When you have to hire hospice, I believe you think you'll be getting a compassionate person with morals, not a scammer trying to get paid for not doing a job. Trying to speak with anyone from the company is a nightmare also. They were contacted numerous times to address our concerns and never followed up on anything, from things as simple as proof of insurance to complaints about lack of care. The whole process of trying to speak to someone in charge is a nightmare. I wouldn't recommend this agency if you're expecting compassionate, reliable care.

We had high hopes for this agency when arranging dementia care for my father, but our experience…read morewas extremely disappointing. We scheduled care twice a week from 9am-2pm to give my mother time to handle personal responsibilities and to ensure my father had some engagement during the day. This is fairly standard support, and we were clear about our expectations. Unfortunately, the caregiver provided did not meet even basic standards of care. During multiple visits, she spent the majority of the time filling out time sheets, watching videos on her phone and at one point was asleep while on duty. This was especially concerning given my father's condition. At one point, my father called us confused and frightened while the caregiver was upstairs and not actively monitoring him. It was even more concerning to find out that our caregiver was napping upstairs during this. We were looking for dependable, engaged support during a very vulnerable time for our family, and this experience did not provide that. If anything, we just feel like we were taken advantage of.

Several hours after our call, Christine was at our house to find out more about our situation. Just after midnight that same day, multiple pieces of equipment were delivered to our home and we were trained to use them by the delivery fellow. In the days following, we were visited by several other staff, including Kim who made an 'SOS' call to our house at 6am one morning when I panicked. Unfortunately, she also came over the next morning at 5am after our dad passed. She then interfaced with the funeral home and relieved us of that.
