We get a call when there is a substitute coming, we get a call if someone is running late, we get a callback when we have questions. Medicine is delivered to our door within 24 hours of the request, but usually the same day. The seamless care from everyone is remarkable. When hospice is mentioned, most people have no understanding of what the wonderful benefits are for them. We were assigned Emily as our case manager and she was great to work with. However, we interacted the most with Grace who was on-call at the time we engaged them and helped my Dad a good bit during his last couple of days. Grace was super patient with us when we asked lots of questions about his care and hospice in general. LifeChoice also provided a rabbi for us and I think my father really appreciated that the rabbi visited with him for over an hour. I think they provided my father a lot of peace and comfort during his final days. My only regret was not engaging them sooner. Several hours after our call, Christine was at our house to find out more about our situation. Just after midnight that same day, multiple pieces of equipment were delivered to our home and we were trained to use them by the delivery fellow. In the days following, we were visited by several other staff, including Kim who made an 'SOS' call to our house at 6am one morning when I panicked. Unfortunately, she also came over the next morning at 5am after our dad passed. She then interfaced with the funeral home and relieved us of that. Avoid Oasis Hospice at All Costs…read more As POA for my 81-year-old mother with dementia, I trusted Oasis to provide compassionate hospice care. That trust was completely misplaced. Despite promises, no care plan was ever created. I never met the doctor, CNA, or lead nurse, and repeated requests for communication were ignored. My mother developed a UTI that went undiagnosed for weeks until I demanded testing -- after which she improved drastically. Staff blamed her behavior on dementia instead of doing their job. Worse, Oasis kept her heavily sedated without my knowledge or consent. One nurse falsely accused her of swinging -- then retracted it when I challenged her. Only one nurse, Ms. Latrice, showed professionalism and followed up. The rest? All talk, no care. This isn't a place of compassion -- it's a cold, careless business. I wouldn't recommend them under any circumstance.
