They said they do have respite care…read morefor a minimum of 30 days...which we really had to struggle with because we only needed a week or two. However was going to settle for their "terms". We scheduled a tour and was pleased with the facility, putting us at ease that our senior would be in a clean/safe environment. We were given a folder with further details along with fees and paperwork needed to proceed if we were to decide on their facility. On another visit, after discussing and deciding this would be a good fit for our senior's respite stay we went through the assessment process. Here is where things began to go wrong. During the assessment (the "professional" arrived late for a scheduled appointment) people came into the open door assessment. Not really professional if a senior is being assessed and the door to the office with a busy hallway is a good way to get true attention and responses of a senior diagnosed with early onset dementia. Well, the open door brought in other employees of the facility. One walked by the doorway a few times before just walking into the office to get (of all things a soda pop) from the nurse giving the assessment! Not long after, the director of the facility just walked in to introduce himself. I'm wondering (couldn't the introduction have waited?). All the while... the "assessment " had not been completed. Following that we were taken to a room to show us all the what a "Respite" suite would be. We must admit the studio looked very nice, spacious and very clean. Our loved one did comment on its design and stated it would be nice to stay for respite. At this point we were asked if we could discuss the financial obligations and schedule the / book the stay. Because it had not been discussed/disclosed prior to this meeting of a deposit needed to "reserve" the space, we had to return with a check for deposit. At this point"finalization " meeting, a few hours later. We were pulled into a meeting with the sales department and the director who proceeded to try Pressuring" a Move-in instead of a Respite stay. The director kept expressing how poorly the assessment was and even if our senior were to be placed on the Assisted Living side of the campus our senior would eventually be moved to memory care. My big question and concern is "you mean within the 30 day respite our senior would have to be moved to Memory care?" The director kept insisting on having our senior be "Moved-In". His defense or reasoning as he stated...your senior did not have a good assessment. When asked if we could review he rolled back to say it has not been put in the system yet. Big Question Mark over our heads!! At this point we felt as if we were on a neighborhood used car dealership! This was after writing a deposit check for respite care. Stepping back for a few to explain about this facility... Respite care is furnished and in the information folder there is a list of items needed Prior to using their services. Because we were discussing and planning several weeks in advance we had started purchasing items from the list. At this facility (which is no where written) a Move-in requires the family to provide furniture for the living space. We are still wondering how did a stated "Respite Care " stay become a demanded Move-In? For anyone seeking "Respite" for their loved one...you may want to look elsewhere.

The transition was not easy for my aunt, or me, but I truly know she is in the best place. My calls were answered quickly and e-mails answered promptly, even on their day off. I had a week to find care for my father, which the other companies I interviewed either needed minimum 2 weeks notice or we just didn't jive. But with ascent home care, they were ready, willing and accommodating! The process with my dad was overwhelming and on his discharge date I couldn't be there. Ascent took the reigns and kept me updated with everything from the time they arrived at rehab to when they were on their way to my dads to when they arrived home. Hey made the process easy. The care workers were amazing and patient with my father and kept me updated with everything going on wth him and supplies he needed. The Dr's gave him 7-10 days to live. He lived for more than 2 months with excellent care from Ascent. Our caretaker, Ariel, was an amazing angel that gave my dear Father-In-Law respect, comfort and friendship. He bathed and fed him and gave him massages. He fit right in with our family. He made a very sad time in our lives bearable and actually enjoyable at times. The owners of Ascent have huge hearts too and are hands on. I highly recommend them for home health care.

Wonderful, just so happy that we found spring creek. we needed rehab for our mother. so i toured 3…read moreplaces, my sister toured the same 3 places. we chose spring creek, we live in lockport, so it was very close. mom was in the hospital after having a stroke, and needed physical and speech therapy and after she was in the hospital for 10 days she needed more therapy. the spring creek staff was kind to us and our mother Nora, Rebekah, Tasha, Nadine and Kevin are all amazing people. the building looks plain on the outside, but the patient rooms are beautiful. just like the pics on the website and the ones here on yelp, new furniture, new floors, the bathrooms are nicer than ours, and our house is only five years old. but the most important thing to us is that mom got excellent nursing care and rehab, when she left spring creek she was able to walk and talk and eat real food after her therapy. and when she initially had her stroke, she couldn't walk, talk or eat. spring creek did an amazing job. she was there for almost 4 weeks, but is now home and safe and HAPPY! i strongly recommend you choose spring creek if you or your family member needs rehab after an illness. they are wonderful people.
