I used to have an annual service contract with a larger well known company that I fired after their technician tried to sell me a new water heater when a prior owner replaced the unit just a couple years before that with them. He did not even bother to check before trying to fool the new homeowner. Fahan with T&T Associates proved that there were still honest service providers out there. FH Furr (via Costco) quoted us about $29K. KD Mechanical quoted us about $18K and we went with them. The installation occurred over 2 days in October 2022 and was done in a very professional manner. Notably, we had a problem with the master bedroom (which sits over the garage) being cold in the winter months. We discussed options with KD Mechanical - including running another line into the master bedroom. In the end, we decided to wait until after the new system was installed and then reassess. With the new system and a sensor in the master bedroom, that room is no longer cold in the winter months. Unfortunately, several months later we found water spots in the ceiling and walls just below the HVAC unit in the attic. We called KD Mechanical and they identified and fixed the HVAC leak free of charge. Not only that, they also sent out a drywall repairman to repair and paint the stained walls.
