After notifying them of the poor work by the installers they fired the installers, had me move their tools outside and warned me not to answer the door because it "didn't go well." Then they sent a new installer who told us that the materials quoted and purchased were wrong too and couldn't be used at my home. The job was only 464 sq ft and after two weeks I still don't have access to that part of my home, I had to take extra time off work to deal with the problem and RW Flooring's "apology" offer was $132. So far I've lost days of vacation time I had to take off work to deal with the incompetence, and my family's loss of access to half our home - and I still don't have flooring today, so there will be even more vacation days lost and even longer for my family sleeping on the couch. They returned our deposit and reimbursed our lost materials, but they have no respect for the lost time, benefits and hardship they caused. Other ways to "make it right" according to them would be for me to go out on my own and find all new materials consistent with the realization that THEIR original quote was wrong, or for me to pay even more to have my subfloor replaced to be consistent with the incorrect materials they quoted me. Do not trust them. My experience is that they won't make it right when they make mistakes.

On December 6th RW sent a very inexperienced worker ( his partner was sick.) He did not know how to tear out our floating floor so my husband showed him how to do it. He then put down lots of glue and said that while it was drying (huh!) he would go to the store to buy a tool to cut the flooring. He then started laying the floor in a most random fashion with little pieces by little pieces and same sized pieces next to each other. The floorboards were not pushed together tightly. He left us with a huge mess. We had to move the heavy flooring boxes to get to the door. I found planks on top of my couch and a blade from his tool in my couch. There was adhesive on the baseboards, doors, stove and refrigerator. He came back 3 days later to remove the flooring he had laid. RW ordered more flooring from LL and there was a delay bringing it here because RW hadn't paid for it. I had to cancel a Christmas party as the condo was in chaos. It finally came and RW sent another team over for the install. They did better but did not do a professional job. Gaps in the flooring, handprints all over freshly painted walls and adhesive on baseboard, granite countertop, doors, stove and refrigerator. I have spent hours cleaning up after both installers. I have scrubbed almost every wall, scraped adhesive and picked up their messes. RW says "Our team of licensed and bonded professional contractors will assure your project is completed professionally and with precision craftsmanship." But they allowed an inexperienced person to lay flooring and we had to pay the price by not being able to use our rooms, cancelling a Christmas gathering, and cleaning up after them.

We were excited to work with Dan and his crew again. This is the second time we've used Dan for…read morehouse updates and, again, he is fantastic. Last time, we had our basement updated to a great bar and movie room. This time, we had Dan tackle our outdated fireplace, painting throughout the house, and two bathroom updates. Next time, if we decide to finish out the unfinished side of our basement or update our kitchen, we will definitely call Dan. In short, he can be counted on to do anything. He's responsive, friendly, and well priced. He may not be the least expensive, but he's certainly not the most expensive, and he and his crew do great work. They are respectful of your timelines and your space, and their final outcomes are impressive. I would recommend Dan for anything that needs doing. Dan and his crew are great!

I can't recommend him enough and have already sent several of my close friends his way! When we bought our house 5 years ago, we immediately recognized that the untouched basement had unlimited potential, and started dreaming of all of the possibilities. Finally this spring, we got quotes from 3 different contractors. Dan's price was reasonable and definite, and he showed that he wanted the business and could do the job. I was nervous that the basement wouldn't live up to my high expectations, but we took the leap of faith. I am SO GLAD we did. The job proceeded on schedule and on budget (at least on Dan's side - I went a little overboard on some of my choices of materials). Dan's employees and subcontractors are all polite and professional. Especially Pete, who I think is both an incredible carpenter with unmatched workmanship and also just one of the nicest, most caring guys you will ever meet. Dan and Pete brought my vision of a little Mouse House/Harry Potter nook under the stairs to life based on Pinterest photos and our shared drawings. We also did a secret room with a trick bookcase. Everyone who sees these rooms now is beyond impressed and wants to know my contractor's phone number. As a detail-oriented person (and an attorney), I had tons of "punch lists" and questions along the way. Dan received every single one of them with a smile and a positive attitude, which was so reassuring and made the whole experience so pleasant for me. He even welcomed my lists as a good way for us to stay in communication and keep track of all of the details. Ultimately, the job was completed in July of 2018, and I am thrilled to say that my basement dreams came true, exceeding all of my high expectations. All of the workmanship is top quality - the lines are straight, the cabinets are perfectly aligned, the doors are level, the electrical and plumbing and drywalling is all done right. If I find anything that needs to be adjusted, I know Dan will handle it. At this point, the only thing left for me to do is pay off my home equity loan and then hire Dan to update my upstairs kitchen and bathrooms. I can't wait.
