Recently, several bolts holding the engine splash guard under my Ford Escape fell out, leaving the…read moreguard dragging on the road and hanging by a single bolt. I was miles from home and didn't feel safe driving with it like that. I happened to be in Chilliwack, so I stopped at a Honda service centre to see if they could help. They told me their minimum charge was $199 and couldn't say how long the repair would take. Since Canadian Tire was nearby, I tried them next. Their quote was $155, but the wait time was 2.5 hours because they were so busy. Feeling stuck, I drove around the block to Great Canadian Oil Change, hoping they might at least take a look. To my surprise, the mechanic, Mark Tyler, told me to pull into the bay and said he'd fix it for free. It took less than five minutes. While he worked, another mechanic checked my oil, topped up my washer fluid, and even checked my tire pressure--also free. I was honestly blown away. Both the Honda service centre and Canadian Tire wanted to charge $199 and $155 for something that clearly takes under ten minutes (I've had this issue before in Kamloops). Meanwhile, Great Canadian Oil Change fixed it immediately, kindly, and without charging me a cent. Unbelievable service at an unbelievable price. I'm genuinely grateful. I'm particularly grateful to the mechanic, Mark Tyler--Excellent job!

I found Paul and Dave to be pleasant, courteous and efficient. Upon review, the repair cost was much lower than originally estimated. My van is fixed and working well.

It became apparent they were not able to do it at all as the apprentice was not monitored and the mechanic paid little attention. When putting the cv joint back in the bearings fell out. Initially they failed to use the packet of grease that came in the box with the new cv joint. Reassembly of the joint left it so stiff it would mot articulate and the mechanic told us it did not need to. This caused much delay as it could not them n line up for the bolts. This was pointed out to them but by then it was closing time. We spent the night in a motel returned the next morning to do the job correctly. When all was complete there was a washer left on the floor which turned out to be from one of the shocks. We got the job all done, only just left the drive when the vehicle started to make a terrible grinding noise. We limped it to Canadian Tire, called the owner from there to discuss the issue. He asked "why didn't we bring it back". He said he didn't want to hear from us again and hung up. Fortunately Canadian Tire diagnosed what was wrong....not properly torqued stretch bolt and an optional abs part left on the CV joint which shouldn't have been for our model year vehicle. Many dollars later our vehicle had the proper repairs done by Canadian Tire. If you aren't confident in doing the job don't take it on! Would not recommend this garage for any major work needed on a vehicle.
