I took my sad self up to the lot and paid the owner my money and he was no nice and polite and even offered to leave my car alone since my sticker was stolen and I was waiting for a new one. Although I had to cough up my money it was good customer service, Fast forward and a year later i find myself in the same scenario and yes I was wrong. Fortunately I was able to catch this mid 30's, Jamaican male with gold teeth and dreads tow driver and he stopped. I was relieved because he didn't have to stop. I genuinely begged and pleaded for him to put my car down and he agreed. But as he agreed he got upset with me for being frantic....like who wouldn't be! I didn't argue whether he was right or wrong I even begged him to call my friend I was visiting to bring him the $50 fee. Mind you I'm crying upset using his phone to call my friend to come down and pay for me because my wallet was upstairs and the damn driver starts yelling at me for asking my friend to bring me $50!!!! Who the hell argues with a dead ass wrong customer trying to pay about trying to pay?!?!?! He was rude as hell and started yelling and being extremely ignorant! At this point I'm now confused he wants the money didn't like how I asked my friend for it....like who cares but apparently he did! Long story short I ended up calling the police so I could pay the tow truck driver. Who ever hired him needs to know he is on a serious power trip living life on the edge driving around in this tow truck....even the cop had to tell him he safe out here. Robey needs to advise this man that Hyattsville is a very tight knit neighborhood all he has to do is be rude to the right person and he will cause Robey to lose contracts with these apartment complexes. Especially when customers are willing to pay for their illegal parking

As the crow flies, Recovery's yard is about a half mile from my home where my car was scheduled to be picked up to take to the shop. My experience with dispatch was pleasant enough. As I was at work at the time and not with the car was to be picked up, I explained to the dispatcher the car was in a parking lot behind the building of the given street address. He said his driver, Curtis, would call to get the details. Curtis called me to let me know he was en route to the vehicle's location. I explained to him the location of the car and offered to text a screenshot from google maps, showing the street names and labeling the location of the parking lot entrance and vehicle's exact location. I sent that screenshot and reiterated exactly where the car was and how to get there. What followed much later, well after I thought the car would have been picked up, were several calls from Curtis saying he couldn't find the car/the car wasn't there/he can't read maps/he doesn't do tow jobs in D.C./he can't find the key/he can't open the armrest where the key is/the car won't start. Ultimately, the car and key were exactly where I said they were and the car started without trouble. I don't understand why Recovery 1, a firm that boasts all over its website about how it serves D.C. specifically, would send a driver who tells customers he doesn't do tow jobs in D.C. Moreover, I don't know why they'd send a driver who can't read a map and also can't relay a cross street location to me over the phone to try to direct them to where the car is located. Again, Recovery's yard is less than a 10 minute walk from where the car was being picked up. It was extra concerning that he needed directions how to push a button to open an armrest compartment and that he had to put the key fob into the ignition to start the vehicle. Finally, with all the problems D.C. has with car thefts and carjackings, the last thing your driver should be telling your customer is they're at the location of the car and it's not there. Aside from not dropping the car off the back of the truck, Recovery 1 failed to meet the most basic expectations for professional service I had.
