I stopped in here on a whim; I'm a bird person and figured they would only have cat and dog food, but figured what the heck. This is a small, clean shop stocked with high-end brands of dog and cat food, as well as some toys and grooming accessories. The young woman behind the counter greeted me immediately and asked if she could help me. I explained that I just noticed their store and wanted to see what they were all about. She offered to give me a tour and I accepted. She explained that they focus on top-quality brand dog and cat foods, organized by protein source. The chicken and poultry are in one section of the store, the fish in another, exotic meats in another. I asked if they had rabbit, as my friend has a dog thta's alergic to lots of things, and she says rabbit is hard for her to find. The young woman said yes, they have rabbit and took me to the dry food based on rabbit. I asked about raw food and she took me to the freezer, well-stocked with meat and meat blends including rabbit. Not only could I get a raw food rabbit with pork, but I could also get a tube of pure ground rabbit, including bone and organ meat. It wasn't cheap, but exotic meats never are. This gal knew her stuff and explained to me the difference between some of the manufacturers and why she preferred some over others. I felt very confident in her knowledge and would gladly return here next time I run out of my high protein specialty cat food. Protein for Pets is great. They carry my dogs raw food "Small Batch Pets". It's a great food and in high demand; they are sold out of it sometimes. I now order it in bulk from them, along with specialty ground rabbit tubes. I have 2 big German Shepherds and they eat a lot (10 bags a month). Protein for Pets also has great treats and chews that my dogs love. The staff is very helpful and some even feed their dogs raw as well (a plus in the raw feeding community). It's kinda cool. It carries high-end pet foods, and pretty much only pet foods. A one-stop pet shop it is not. I got some Tiki Cat for my feline, and they have a lot of the individual cans, but not in all the flavors, so I stocked up on what I could for my little guy. The store is pretty small, but I suppose that's kind of a positive since it's more a "mom and pop" than a big old warehouse like Petsmart, which carries mostly garbage pet food. My go-to store for both my Dogs kibble! I've been a loyal customer since 2015 because both my dogs will not eat anything other than their naked brand kibble in lamb! They are obsessed and so am I!! Where else can you find a 50lb bag of food for such a good price?? If you look anywhere else, I think the biggest bag I've seen is 40 something lbs - and it's quite pricey. Today I called & the phone rang without anyone ever picking up. I've been in the store before myself without someone picking up the phone. I was calling about arranging delivery of food, treats & arthritis med for two dogs & see the turnaround time. This time I have to say I'm done. Not answering the phone when there are several other pet store locations much closer is a dealbreaker. I can go to three other places within 3 miles & get so-so service. read more

I had scheduled a Feiday pickup for this store but come to my surprise, it was 0930am and the store was not open. I called the Simi Valley store and they were as surprised as I was. They told me someone was on the way to open the store. I waited until about 1020-1030 and nobody had showed up. I called the main office and Brandon was very nice and tried to help with setting up a food delivery. This store location seems to have alot of problems that are or can be fixed with the right action or actions. I love this place! By far the best spot to get the good stuff for my lil guys. They have a huge selection and carry the brands that most places don't. I must say the young lady, Judy, (whom I regularly see at about 3 minutes to closing just about every time I come in) is awesome!
