Healthy Pet has pet food you can't find anywhere. And it's top of the line. I prefer good nourishment rather than medicine. When I wanted to return something I bought for my sick picky pet, they were so gracious. Everyone should invest in their pets and buy food that is almost human grade. Everyone there is so knowledgable and give great advice and tips. read more

they are incredibly nice. AMAZING selection. I love how they carry smaller brands and have a very wide selection of everything. I will definitely be going back! read more

Healthy Pet - Pet Stores Near Me - Thousand Oaks, California

I have been a customer for quite some years now but I never knew the owner does nail trimming on dogs . I went in and he removed my pups dew claw which had been broken in half and I was amazed by how well he was with Kylo. He saved me a trip to the vet which would have cost me over 100 dollars and he only charges 14.00. Darren saved the day what a great guy I recommend you getting your dogs nails done there it's the least expensive place you could go. Darren also has great recommendations for food and supplements for all animals he was a great help. Let's support our small business owners !! read more

For those of us who might tend to complain their prices for some items are rly high, PLEASE keep in mind they offer PRICE MATCHING. I found this out today & honestly, since the online giant we all know but I won't name here (because my review probably wouldn't get posted) is taking over the world & all too happy to stick it to the local businesses, I'd rather support the local biz if I can (especially since I think this one doesn't sell live animals- IGH I HATE THAT). Anyway I get it, the aforementioned giant is cheaper & usually free shipping, but I don't want to live in a community where local businesses no longer exist, do you? read more

They are $7 over price on their 3 month Frontline for cats vs Target. Bought a 6.5 pound bag of "Boxie Glo" cat litter at $20.99 at their recommendation. Worse cat litter ever. Tracked all over my home! read more

A very nice updated experience with a very good manager who really cares about the Thousand Oaks location and keeping customers happy. Now that Kriser's and Protein for Pets are gone from the area, he has made sure to bring in some brands that were pretty exclusive to those former stores. And yes, he did price match - don't know if that was wifey's "charm" or just good business sense, but we signed up for the Frequent Shopper program. We want to avoid the big box stores and support small business, and this is the way to do it. Highly recommended! read more

Rude and outright poor customer service displayed by a staff member at the new location in Agouea Hills. Product knowledge a D minus . Customer service a 0. The owner and the other staf members who are long time, always provide excellent product knowledge , are caring, savvy and friendly. Nobody can handle my babies better than the owner, from A to Z. and do trust all of them to give the best to my furry babies. I only had one very bad experience and that is with a new employee. One bad Apple shouldn't ruin the bunch, and I hold out hope for a different experience next time on their part. I would have given them a solid 5 star but for that. Disappointing. read more

The way the owner spoke to me and treated me about a return of a new item was not okay. He assumed before I walked in that the item was damaged. It was not. He was very ride. I will never shop at this business again. I do not recommend this business. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

I LOVE THIS STORE! They always have a great selection of natural chews for my babies. Plus, their antlers and dried pig ears just can't be beat. I drive over an hour in traffic just to come here because they are that good. I feel guilty giving up my favorite little pet supply shop, but they deserve all the business they can get. Especially since they've kept their prices low even when every other store has had their prices just going up and up and up. Overall, great quality dog treats, unbeatable prices, and the man working behind the counter is always so friendly and helpful read more

If you want to go to a shop that cares & appreciates your business, this is the place to go. They are friendly, helpful & will usually go over & above for their customers. They are serious about the products they carry & care about the quality, long term effects on our fur babies. Family run business that will remember you, ask about how your fur babies are doing & sincerely care. I wish they would hire employees that know how to trim nails, it was a service that I loved but it's a hit & miss trying to get the owner who is amazing at nail trimming. So I stopped trying. read more

I highly recommend Healthy Pet in TO, I recently started purchasing dog food from them. Everyone that works there is knowledgeable and helpful, I recently had an issue where my dogs wouldn't eat the food I chose, they were very accommodating and allowed me to switch the food even though I didn't have the box. To me that means a lot! I i wish I would have found this store long ago! read more

I order the baker's dozen bags of dog food for a great discount and not just any dog food, top notch brands. They have a great supply of dog toys, leashes, accessories, snacks and treats. This is a small pet shop tucked away in a strip mall on TO Blvd. Fairly convenient parking lot, not hard to find. The employees at the store are friendly and helpful. I don't think they sell any live pets (yay!) and they have a good selection of foods, beds, crates, toys etc for cats and dogs. Limited selection of stuff for small furry animals and some good stuff for birds. They are more than willing to special order things for you if you ask. read more

Yelp 100 Challenge 37 This is the best customer service ever. Look no further. Large selection of everything for your pets. What I especially appreciate is that if there's something the don't carry and you want it, they're gonna do their best to get it for you. Prices are good, too, and if you purchase multiples of the same item, deals can be made. Known these folks for a long time and they're consistently the best. Update: An employee (or owner) voted this review "funny." They sell very old food a year+ the expiration date. Not one or two mistake cans, but I saw many that were over a year old. Weird energy in here. Convenient location and they do have some healthy options, but items are way overpriced for service and they sell VERY old food past the expiration. Check expiration dates- they have a "50% off" table at the front and the food on it is 1 year+ expired. I get that some things can last past their expiation dates, but 16 months is more than pushing it. I felt it was deceptive to be placing these long expired cans, etc. in the discount section with eye-catching signs where people are less likely to check/notice dates. Just because it's half off doesn't mean it can't get your pet sick. Staff (with 1 exception) is always apathetic and cold. Glazed over expressions, curt answers, and passive aggressive even with how they take your money and hand you your bag. Weird. read more

Located in the somewhat "shady" part of Thousand Oaks is Healthy Pet. I think from the outside some might think it is a janky vet's office, but what it really is is a pet food and supply store. Underneath its rather humble exterior, Healthy Pet has employees that really know their stuff about animals and the products they carry. I used drive down to Westlake to get Riley's "Royal Canine" but they carry it here for a good $2 cheaper and it's much closer as well. They have unique toys here as well as the "usual" toys/treats (kongs, greenies) and they even have little baked goods you can bring home for your 4 legged friend(s). I enjoy going here, preferably WITH Kieran, since I mentioned there have been some shady ogglers in the same parking lot. read more

Rude, pushy, weird and expensive/expired food. After being in the store earlier that day and purchasing a good amount of food I went home and had a question on the price of another item I potentially wanted to come back in for. They told me they don't give prices over the phone and hung up. I later discovered some of the products bought that day were expired. I'm fine not going back, the people in the store were trying to upsell me at every turn even though I knew exactly what I wanted and I prefer to do business with cordial people. read more

It pains me to say this because every other encounter was great, and this was starting become our regular place to get our dog's food/supplies but not anymore.. Yes, they have a great selection and are located literally a few minutes from our house, but I can say without a doubt that today was the last day I will support or shop from this business. Today I walked in to find 2 women (Karen's) without masks, as well as one of the employees without a mask. I understand that it's NOT a law to wear a mask, however, if YOU as a business don't follow the recommended guidelines set forth by the CDC (even though you have signs posted outside your doors) and YOU value ignorant long time customers and their money over simple safety measures such as a MASK, you're not only doing a disservice to yourself, and your other customers, but the community as a whole. read more

This store is so much better than Petco or Petsmart! Darren and his team get to know their customers and offer expert advice when you need it. Customer service is the best! I would recommend Healthy Pet for anyone and I also think supporting local businesses is important. read more

I came here at the suggestion of one of my friends and we were not disappointed. It didn't hurt that we went during an anniversary event sale with many booths and vendors. We got samples from major pet food companies and even got some raffle tickets to win goodies. We picked up some freeze dried food at a great price even without the discount. My daughter fell in love with Wilson the cat and wanted to ask if he was for sale too. Anyway, they sell all the high end foods at prices below even online vendors and a lot fresher too so you know what you're getting. I would definitely recommend this store! read more
