Would be nice to get help before you start to walk out the door. Stop talking to each other and help your customers.

Carpet Barn - Damage caused by carpet layer

It's been about a year and we love it! Still looks great. They were efficient and professional. Very easy to get a hold of if you have any questions. We got a great deal on the tile and the prices were fair. Will use them again for any future needs. They have a ton of great options in their floor room.

We contracted with this Carpet Barn to install our new carpet. While they laid the carpet…read morebeautifully, they damaged all of our newly painted base boards. When we told them about the issue, they said they would fix it. They sent the carpet layer back with NO supplies to repaint the base. We had to provide all of the supplies: paint brush, paint, floor covering, etc. As a person in the construction industry, I know how long it should have taken to repaint the baseboards. He was there for approximately an hour. When we came back to inspect the work, it looked as if the person used his fingers to fill the damaged areas, instead of painting the entire board. We called to complain. They sent the same man back to try again. He did the same thing again, but this time he left hand prints on our freshly painted walls. We called his boss to explain the issue AGAIN. We had to bring in and pay an actual painter to fix the problem. Carpet Barn would not help us with this cost. We will NOT use this company again and DO NOT recommend them.

Akel's Carpet One Floor & Home

We came into your store today to select flooring for a home we are currently in the process of…read morepurchasing. During our visit, we worked with an older gentleman who assisted us in choosing flooring and provided us with a quote. The seller of the home had already obtained a quote through your company for carpet removal and installation. Specifically, we selected Mohawk Street Chic flooring. The representative we worked with clearly quoted us a price of $3.79 per square foot and pointed out the pricing we would be paying. However, when Jason later called us, he provided a significantly different quote of $4.59 per square foot. When we questioned the discrepancy, rather than helping us understand the difference, he became argumentative with both my husband and me. Most concerning was his comment that the representative who assisted us "didn't know what he was talking about because he's an 85-year-old man." We found this response to be both unprofessional and disrespectful. Regardless of any misunderstanding regarding pricing, speaking negatively about a fellow employee in this manner is unacceptable and did not inspire confidence in your company. As a result of this experience, we have decided to take our business elsewhere. We are extremely disappointed, as we had been prepared to move forward with our purchase through your company. Unfortunately, the inconsistent pricing and the manner in which our concerns were handled have made us uncomfortable continuing to do business with your organization. We felt it was important to bring this experience to your attention and hope it can be addressed internally moving forward.

River City Flooring - Kitchen backsplash beautifully installed!

They also came and tried to put some paint like substance on top that just made it worse. Scheduling with them was such a nightmare I'll jsut live with the terrible work. They gave me less than 12 hours notice multiple times trying to get this scheduled (including calling me at 4pm on a Friday to have someone come on a Saturday- um no we have plans). Finally told me he would come on a Thursday and it would be a one day job-it wasn't so I had to cancel going out of town. Nightmare experience from start to finish.

We had our first floor put in our home in November 2021, we bought Happy Feet LVP from River City…read moreFlooring. This process was less than smooth with the installers not showing up on the day they were supposed to and then when they did show up the next day the only one who spoke English left so communicating with them was a nightmare! When the one who spoke English came back, he left my flooring in the back of their truck sitting in the sun the whole time, when I asked if it should be brought in he said no. I then asked if this flooring needed to have a moisture barrier pad under it and again was told no. At the end of the installation, I had almost 2 boxes of extra flooring and asked if I could please get a refund on it, I was told by Tim "well, there will be a restocking fee to do that so it's really not worth it." Jump forward to June of this year and my flooring was buckling. I started calling the store asking for someone to come look at my floors. I originally spoke to Keith who said he would have Tim call me, which he never did. The following week we went on vacation so tried to call again when we got back home. Another week passed and we were now in to July. I finally spoke to Tim who said he would be by my house that night before going to church, he didn't show up. I finally was fed up so tracked down who the owner of the company was and sent him a message regarding the run around I was getting. Needless to say, Keith showed up to my home that night. Immediately he says it was a manufacturer problem and he would file a warranty claim on it. Approximately a week and a half later an independent inspector comes to see the floor. Her determination was that the installers, who River City Flooring hired, had not done the job correctly. They had not left any expansion gaps and my floor had also drawn moisture from there not being a moisture barrier put down first. My floor was never tested for moisture either. So we begin the replacement process and I decided to put the LVP in my dining room also which had not been done previously. This was approximately an additional 111 sq ft. On the initial quote I was sent not only did they want me to pay for the labor cost to remove the floor but only wanted to credit me $3745.17 when my initial purchase was $4086.92. They also charged me $76.99 again for taking up the toilet and placing a new seal again, I didn't argue that point because I thought there was a cost there of the seal. When my toilet was lifted and placed back, there was no new seal installed so I got taken on that charge. My bottom line after purchasing the labor to install the additional flooring, labor to cut a 4 ft section of tile, moisture barrier, additional flooring and quarter round for my dining room was $1242.06. At the end of the job, I had 2 1/2 boxes of tile left that was not used. Each box covers 23.89 sq ft for a total of 47.78 sq ft at a total cost to me at $3.79 sq ft of $181.09 plus $17.20 tax so $198.29. Remember, I also had one box left from the first install, which I have no use for now or in the future, at a cost of $106.00. I called the store regarding these last two boxes and asked for a refund on them, two boxes extra is excessive in my opinion to expect a customer to pay for. Keith actually had the audacity to say that I had not paid for those??? I reminded him that yes, I had paid for those in the $1242.06 that I had paid them for the additional flooring and moisture barrier. He then says "I just don't feel like you're being appreciative of what we did for you in replacing your floor." Hello, you hired the installers who did not do the installation correctly and I'm supposed to be appreciative that you took the responsibility you should have? I paid for everything extra I added over the initial installation and had no problem with doing that but I DO NOT feel that I should have to pay for two additional boxes of tile just because Tim did not order it correctly! Keith then says "Well, I'll have to contact the owner about a refund because he had to eat the cost of this so I doubt he will approve a refund." Keith has never called me back. So, my advice to anyone is to NOT use River City Flooring! They will charge you for extra product and apparently there is nothing you can do about that and they also make profit off of the charge they do for labor. I forgot to ask the last installers what they were being paid but the first installers were being paid $1 sq ft but I was charged $2.39 a sq ft. They are shiesty, so beware if you choose to use them! Fingers crossed that my flooring actually last this time, but if not I'll be contacting an attorney! A very upset customer, Sheila Torres Conway, AR! Update to the review. After contacting the BBB, the owner of the company had the store manager call me and a refund was issued for the 3 boxes of flooring that were unused. Kudos to the owner for stepping up and doing the right thing!
