We paid over $2,400 for a new system about three years ago and unfortunately we lost power in Lutz for about a week. When I called to have the programming check they wanted to charge $75 just to check the settings. When I called back to schedule the appointment, the price jumped to $125 just two days later. After spending all that money on a new system we felt this was wrong especially due to the situation with the storms. I called the manufacturer who helped me reset the timer in 5 minutes for no charge. We don't feel this is how you treat long time customers.

Another plumber that our realtor called since we were out of town when the leak was discovered said we needed to call the manufacturer to get a new part or buy a new water conditioner. Hyram said the big box store water softeners are often cheaply made. He recommended a higher quality softener but he also thought he could fix the leak by removing the flex hoses and "hard plumb" the pipes to the softener. By aligning the pipes better the pipes cold move vertically under pressure without breaking the seal. After going through two of them in just a few years I decided to go back to FWT. The cost of the system is definitely higher than the big box units, but I anticipate this will equal out as I only got four years out of my Whirlpool. The installation is much improved over the original Whirlpool setup, much cleaner and less cluttered. Instructions after install were clear, the water was tested prior to leaving, and suggestions were provided for the best type of salt to use. Shawn was very professional and informative and cleaned up after completion and made sure that all my questions were answered.
