From my very first contact with Molly, I knew I was in good hands! Communication was excellent and I felt like my needs were not only addressed, but also important to her. She created a perfect menu for my daughter's engagement party, including a bartender with craft cocktails, passed hors d'oeuvres, buffet dinner and a spectacular dessert bar. The food was not only beautiful to look at, but tasted AMAZING. The entire crew that arrived were professional and all were super fun and personable. It was a pleasure having them work in my home. They took care of everything so I could mingle freely with my guests. Everyone raved about the food. Would definitely hire them again! read more

Molly & Dave were the best! We had a girls weekend in Santa Barbara for Cinco De Mayo and wanted a Mexican theme menu. Molly came up with the perfect menu and also provided us with a bartender and server! It was 12 of us total and we had so much fun! They were all so nice, on time and professional. Most of all the food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Everything was so fresh! The bartender was also amazing! The drinks were soooo good. Molly communicated everything in advance and I was very comfortable in the whole process. I will book them again. Thank you so much for making our weekend fun! read more

My husband and I have hired chef David a couple times before our wedding ceremony, July 2nd, 2022. We knew we wanted specialty foods and great food and we knew David and Molly would deliver, no questions asked! The food was a variety of appetizers and desserts, and the team knocked it our of the park! The celebration would not have been so wonderful without all the delicious foods they made for us, crispy Brussels sprout boats, mini quiche, homemade meatballs, mini sausage rolls, and my favorite, the Moroccan lamb burgers!!!!!! And not to mention the desserts, fairy cakes, profiteroles, yummy!!!! And so much more!!!! Their hard work, dedication, efficiency and a great eye for details... we will definitely hire them again and again, worth every penny!!!! We love you David and Molly and thank you for being apart of our special day!!!!! read more

Mary L. 4/19/22 I worked with David and Molly for a small dinner party that I had last Friday at my home. I wanted it to be easy for me --no heating things up and also bite sized portions so it would be easy for my guests to eat and socialize. Molly was fantastic to work with! She was very responsive and we worked to fine tune the menu so that it was exactly what I was looking for. David brought the food over and was right on time to set everything up. All of the food was fabulous! My guests ate most everything up --and were very impressed! I am so grateful to Molly and David for making my evening easier for me to enjoy! read more

Food First Events were fantastic! I held a small private Gallery of paintings my family created. We got a Charcuterie board that was so incredible. The staff and service were top notch. Molly my supervisor was amazing! Great suggestions, great energy that makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed during planning processes which most people hate to have to do. She even bought a couple of my Grandfathers paintings! read more

Molly and David catered for our wedding and everyone loved the food! They are an amazing couple, extremely friendly, professional and talented and I would highly recommend them for your wedding. We had about 120 guests and did it buffet style and decided to incorporate both our cultures so they did a mix of Cuban and Indian food which was a big hit. The number 1 compliment we received was about the food and to us that was extremely important. From the first tasting to the day of, Molly and David were awesome to work with. Thank you guys for a great experience! read more

David and his team are absolutely incredible! When my fiancé , now husband, and I were planning our wedding, we were incredibly overwhelmed with the tasks that came with it. We had a vision that was on a very strict budget and David and his team completely met and exceeded our expectations! Not only did David curate a menu for us, he also put us in touch with a wedding planner who coordinated the timing, details and delivery of things. The food that David and his team prepared was absolutely the best food I have had, ever! My husband and I, as well as our guests, still talk about how AMAZING his food was! I would absolutely recommend David and his team to everyone, not only for their professionalism and talent, but for their drive and passion to making dreams come true! Molly and David are the dynamic duo of catering for our wedding. It was love, at first sight, the moment they came over to our home to consult on our impending nuptials. Upon inspecting the grounds they immediately relieved any worries and apprehensions we had with our ability to pull this off without a hitch. On the day of our wedding, while we may have been on pins and needles, Molly, David, and their crew of professionals were not. They swooped it and took over set-up and prep while we relaxed, got dressed, and readied ourselves for the first steps towards happily ever after. The moment the ceremony was through, the team was prepared with tasty appetizers and drinks for our fifty guests. All we did was sit back and relax and watch all our happy guests get settled to sit down for a scrumptious five-course meal. The food was exquisite, the service top-notch, as if our home was suddenly transformed into a five-star restaurant. When meeting Molly and David, it's abundantly obvious the love they have for what they do--you could see the passion for both cooking and help create memories that will last a lifetime. My husband has been EFFUSIVELY texting back and forth with Molly just how elated we are they helped make our day. While I had little input on planning the wedding-of-the-century, I got an immediate vibe upon meeting them both that we were going to be in very good hands. If you're looking for five-star epic treatment--look no further than Food First Events & Catering! read more

David at Food First Events and his crew really made our Christmas this year! I had my doubts about finding a caterer for Christmas Day, (for only 13 people) but within 15 minutes of submitting a few different requests through Thumbtack, David contacted me. After looking at his website, and discussing my event, he sent me a beautiful classic Christmas Dinner menu and quote that was reasonable (especially for a Christmas Day event!). His attention to detail was wonderful, and the classic prime rib and salmon with traditional sides I wanted sounded so unique and gourmet! The day of the event, David was right on time, his helpers were personable and helpful. He seemed to feel right at home in my kitchen, and prepared & served hors d'ourves and dinner (and special bottles of wine) beautifully. It was such a treat to enjoy my family instead of running around making sure all the dishes were served on time, and David and his crew did the dishes too! Merry Christmas to ME! LOL. The dishes were not only presented beautifully at the table, Shawn made sure that there was room for family style dishes before everyone sat down. No last minute adjustments, it all was perfect! Everyone RAVED about the food, and there was enough left over for a second smaller meal. I loved the mashed potatoes so much, I made the leftovers into shepards' pie with the prime rib.....oh, SO good! I highly recommend Chef David and his team, they will make your event special, no matter the size of the group. I will definitely call upon Chef David again! Highly recommend !! read more

Chef David prepared a Birthday/Mother's Day dinner for us that was fabulous! Every dish was excellent and prepared with great care using fresh ingredients. We especially loved the roasted salmon over sofrito, the soba noodle salad and the Mac n' Cheese . . chicken was also moist and flavorful. David and Molly were a pleasure and easy to work with, and we are planning to use them again for future dinners and events. They have a diverse and creative menu, and we look forward to trying their other dishes and desserts. Thank you Molly and David for a wonderful evening! read more

We have been working with David and Molly for a couple of years and when my husband and I were planning our wedding there was no question that we would use Food First Events for our special day which included reception appetizers, specialty cocktails, sit down dinner, desert and late night snacks! We were so so happy with how everything turned out. The food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests are still talking about how beautifully it was prepared and how much they loved each course and dish. The food was better than a 5 star restaurant. Working with Molly and David is so fun and Molly made everything so easy and stress free, especially as we had very last minute changes. Molly handled everything with such a wonderful attitude and she made it easy for us with no stress. Both Molly and David had wonderful suggestions for the menu and additional elements. Also, David had a smile on his face for the entire event and was completely relaxed but in charge. Our guests loved mingling with him. I have already recommended Food First Events to friends. We would only use Food First Events in the future for any type of party (large or small). They are the A Team! read more

Food First Events & Catering Co. catered the food for my daughter's wedding on 25 November 2017. By the testimony from all our guests (literally all our guests) and families, the food was outstandingly delicious. This was a Creole themed wedding so the menu followed the theme. Provided were three choices, Filet Mignon & Crayfish Oscar, Creole Fried Chicken, and Vegetarian Creole Rice. As well the hors d'oeuvres were magical with people practically tackling down the servers for more. In addition, the service, planning and presentation were stellar, from the kitchen staging to the actual preparation. Thank you David for taking part in making my daughter's wedding as memorable as it was. -p read more

This review is for David and his exceptional customer services. I contacted Food First Events and David gave me a call within 10 minutes after leaving my info on Yelp. He listened to my request and helping me narrow down my options. He was very fast at responding to my emails and questions even though I know that he must be busy with other events. Too sad that I couldn't go with David and his company because of my budget, but I would recommended anyone to his company because of his friendly personality and ready to help vibe. Thanks David for helping me putting together with the menu and my fiance and I appreciate your time! read more

David and his team are fantastic. Food First catered my wife's birthday dinner. We originally wanted to go out, but were unable to due to the COVID situation. Very good service and responsive (that's important). We hired David for our gals' 1st and 3rd birthday party, for approximate 45 adults and 12 kids. Everyone kept telling me the food was delicious at the party and after. David was very honest from the start when we first engaged him, he basically suggested me to get those portable table and linen than charging me for it. For a small size party like mine, a server may not be necessary since all are close friends. We took his advise, put more budget on the food, and it came up perfect. The food were adult proof and kids proof. Kids love his food too where a few mums came up to me and ask about the food choices that we decided. Also, he helped my husband to prep a dish without we asking. I'm looking for another reason to have another party so that I can have him cook for us again read more
