Was the engine of this antiquated vehicle going to fall out next? I'll abridge the story: the owner of the towing service said he was close by and could come by personally to check things out. He did and fixed the clip holding the cover in place, obviating the need for a tow truck and the large expense. This was a kindness above and beyond the call of duty. He loaded my VW Golf and secured it quickly and efficiently. At the auto repair shop Don unloaded the VW and prepared the invoice. I paid him with a credit card and he gave me the receipt, marked 'paid.' I told him that while I appreciated the quality of his service I hoped we would not be doing business again.
