It was my first time buying a home, and from start to finish, Maykin made the whole thing feel like a breeze. Right off the bat, she listened to what we were looking for and sent us a ton of great houses that fit our criteria. As we were viewing houses with her, she was carefully assessing everything and letting us know if she saw something concerning. She truly wanted to make sure we got the right house for us, not just whatever house she could make the fastest or most money on. When we looked at houses that we would potentially want to do some remodeling in, she was quick to offer insight into the possible costs and considerations, making sure we were factoring those things into our overall budget. Her knowledge and experience are simply unmatched. We found a house we loved at about 8 pm on a weeknight and Maykin immediately called the listing agent, who told her that another buyer was interested but hadn't yet put in their offer. As soon as we left the house, Maykin put together an offer and sent it to the listing agent that night. I firmly believe that we would not have gotten this house if it hadn't been for Maykin's promptness and dedication to her clients. After our offer was accepted, she negotiated very strongly to get us the things we wanted and made sure to keep us informed every step of the way. She took care of all of the behind-the-scenes work - coordinating all aspects of our inspection so that all we had to do was show up when it was done, checking with a contractor about the cost of any repairs needed, and even contacting our lender when I was concerned about something in our loan disclosure. I cannot say enough great things about Maykin! We have been trying to buy a house for years, and when we found this house Maykin moved mountains to get us the best possible deal and all the incentives. Her communication throughout the whole process was top notch. She was in constant communication with the lenders, sales agent, and title company to ensure we closed on time. 18 hours before our scheduled closing, the deal fell through. I was referred to Maykin through the Graduate Medical Education Department at UTHSCSA for the great experience other incoming residents had while using her. Being from the northeast and having never been to Texas, she made the normally stressful process of trying to find an apartment so easy.
