Went in CT to hunt for some new bourbon, after looking around for about 3 minutes and asking prices (on the most expensive products the store has ever had mind you) the guy asks me not to go in the isle, he needs my iD. I consent, since I'm visibly a grown man. He side eyes me and waves me off. I continue to see if I can find anything worth my tasting, after about 8 total minutes in the store I walk out. Before I sit my behind in the driver seat of my car, here comes a belligerent Indian man running to my car flipping me the middle finger and telling me I am "banned for life", demanding to know why I would even enter the store if I wasn't going to spend money (I'm not spending 2000$ on a 250$ bottle) . To save you some time, everything is overpriced, every liquor store in the surrounding area offers cheaper options of every single product on CT Liquor and Smokes shelves, this is a fact. They also don't know what barrel/store picks are so I'd be curious to know how knowledgeable they even are of the American market. I have went to every single store with a liquor license in Bowling green and many surrounding areas, every single one is better than this one.

We…read morewent on a specific night because they were to have salsa dancing/music and my husband and I are getting more into dancing. I tried not to have many expectations because you never know what you'll get in Bowling Green. We both expected the bar to have a smokier vibe but it was very clean, small, and modern in design. Not necessarily bad, just different. They have an excellent wine selection, a few unique beers, and a few of their specialty cocktails on tap. We shared a bottle of red wine then I tried their pineapple vodka cocktail. It was good but didn't blow my mind. The bar area is a little cramped, the cashier station is in between bar seats and if a line forms to order or close out, the walkway more narrow than it was before. The dancing was ok- they had a dancing class there which added to the crowd but they also played some extremely trashy music that isn't what most people enjoy dancing to (I'm sorry, I don't want to dance to Britney Spears or Lady Gaga... it's 2019). That was frustrating. They did have a keyboardist who played actual salsa music and we enjoyed dancing to that. It's an awkward floorplan for dancing but we made it work. It seems like a nice bar. Their prices are not great but slightly better than other similar bars in the area. It was clean and those working were pleasant and managed the crowds well. The music was a little bit disappointing but that doesn't mean we wouldn't go back! It's rare to find a venue that hosts legitimate ballroom style dancing (or at least encourages it) so we may go back just to practice and have some fun. Definitely a top spot in Bowling Green and worth a visit if you have a free evening.

The bathroom was clean and maintained. If not a wine drinker: they also have beer and premade cocktails on tap. Go in a stranger, come out having met new friends.

The man inside, the head of this tiny family-run operation, seemed delighted to have a visitor. I tried 6 micro-pours, served in tiny plastic disposable communion cups. And, very unusually these days, there was no charge for this! They make several products here, two bourbons, a rum, gin, and three flavored moonshines (caramel, hot pepper, and blackberry). I tried all except the rum which sadly they were out of. Moonshine is silly but these flavored ones were interesting, although too low in alcohol at 60 proof. The bourbons were good but didn't wow me. The gin was really good and different, very citrusy and with low but detectable juniper. I learned the gin was very small batch: distilled in 4 gallon quantities! I complimented him on it and wanted to buy a bottle but the rest of the current batch was already sold out. His wife also stopped in to talk while I was there. I learned more about the farm where they primarily keep and breed horses, and keep a few cows as well. The horses are of the ordinary recreational type, not for thoroughbred racing like some other farms in the area. And I was also able meet their pet duck "Sweetie" who had free reign to the yard and wandered in looking for attention or a handout.
