We brought my girlfriends son's eRide Pro in because the bike would turn on, but it would not send power to the motor. From the beginning, I specifically asked them to check the BMS fuse. I asked more than once because my understanding was that eRide Pro dealers have diagnostic tools available to help identify battery/BMS issues. After having the bike for weeks with very little communication, we were told the battery was bad and needed to be replaced for approximately $2,000. They also told us they would look into aftermarket battery options and call us back. That call never came. After more waiting and following up, I again specifically asked them to check the BMS fuse. A couple more weeks went by, and we were again told the battery was bad. This time, the replacement quote was approximately $2,900. Fortunately, we did not authorize the repair. We picked up the bike and had someone else look at it. And guess what the problem was? The BMS fuse. The exact thing I repeatedly asked Last Mile Marin to check. The fuse is approximately an $8 part. There were also some loose connections that needed attention. Once those issues were addressed, the bike worked. So instead of a $2,000-$2,900 battery, the actual problem included an $8 fuse and loose connections. What makes this so frustrating isn't simply that a diagnosis was wrong. Mechanics and technicians can make mistakes. It's that I specifically asked them multiple times to check the component that ultimately turned out to be the problem, and we waited weeks while being told we needed an extremely expensive replacement battery. Had we simply trusted their diagnosis, we could have spent thousands of dollars unnecessarily. The lack of communication was also unacceptable. Weeks would pass without updates, promises to call us back weren't kept, and we had to repeatedly chase them for information. I will be contacting the owner directly because I believe they need to know exactly how this was handled. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Last Mile Marin for eRide Pro diagnostics. If you're told you need an expensive battery replacement, get a second opinion before spending the money. In our case, that second opinion saved us thousands of dollars.

It's more convenient to pick up skis at home and take them straight to the mountain than waiting with a kid to rent and miss time on the slopes. I was unsure about buying a pair of boots and he let me rent the boots and offered some cash back to buy them once I returned if I liked them. I didn't like the boots because of an ankle issue I have, but he knew which boots to recommend AND that they would fit the old bindings on my skis better anyway. I walked away happy. The shop is just around the corner from where you catch the ferry, so very convenient! The only thing negative which made me dock a star was that both Trek mountain bikes that we rented were in dire need of repair. My husband and I rent bikes often when we travel to places, and this was the first time we ever experienced renting bikes from an actual bike shop that were in bad condition (literally your whole job as a bike shop is to keep bikes in good condition to rent or sell, right?). Almost all the gears kept slipping, and on hilly trails like the ones on Angel Island, this made our bike ride difficult and bit frustrating. Only 3 out of the 21 gears worked properly, and they happened to be 3 high gears, so a few of the steeper inclines were brutal. We laughed it off and just accepted the harder leg workout (haha), but overall this was a bit disappointing. For the record, my husband and I are both athletes who bike, run, hike, and work out regularly, so if we were even having a tough time, I can't imagine what it would have been like for an average leisurely cyclist! So instead of taking the bikes out for 3+ hours, we returned them sooner since they were in such poor condition. Other than that, we still enjoyed exploring Tiburon and Angel Island for the first time on 2 wheels! If you rent here, hopefully your bikes will be in much better condition than ours were.

We brought a life jacket for our dog and was able to include him in the kayak for no extra cost! We are beginner kayakers so it took us a while to get used to paddling and directing the direction of the kayak. The kayaking route was decent and safe.
