The Marin location being slightly closer for Eastbay residents. The customer service is always top notch at Last Mile. My main man Jake in San Francisco has been helping me with my electric scooters for years, and most recently today I had the pleasure of working with Marcos and Jason. Mini Motors is having a sale on their website which Last Mile will honor. The team of Marcos and Jason spent two plus hours with me setting up my new electric scooter. Helping me understand how to use the app, charge it, etc. There are so many tech features and gadgets on these electric vehicles these days, it takes a lot of time to learn. The biggest positive in buying at Last Mile, a brick and mortar store, is that these electric vehicles eventually will need maintenance and repairs, and Last Mile will take care of you. Need new tires, they got it. New battery or charger, got it. New brakes, got it. And since I'm not particularly mechanically inclined, having them available is great. I'll be a life long customer. Or at least a customer until I'm too old to ride.

It's more convenient to pick up skis at home and take them straight to the mountain than waiting with a kid to rent and miss time on the slopes. I was unsure about buying a pair of boots and he let me rent the boots and offered some cash back to buy them once I returned if I liked them. I didn't like the boots because of an ankle issue I have, but he knew which boots to recommend AND that they would fit the old bindings on my skis better anyway. I walked away happy. Special kudos to Chris who was super patient with my kid during a very busy day.

Of course you could also ride around beautiful Tiburon too! Scott helped us get our bikes quickly to make sure we made our 1pm ferry (overall less than 20min), which we greatly appreciated. The shop is just around the corner from where you catch the ferry, so very convenient! The only thing negative which made me dock a star was that both Trek mountain bikes that we rented were in dire need of repair. My husband and I rent bikes often when we travel to places, and this was the first time we ever experienced renting bikes from an actual bike shop that were in bad condition (literally your whole job as a bike shop is to keep bikes in good condition to rent or sell, right?). Almost all the gears kept slipping, and on hilly trails like the ones on Angel Island, this made our bike ride difficult and bit frustrating. Only 3 out of the 21 gears worked properly, and they happened to be 3 high gears, so a few of the steeper inclines were brutal. We laughed it off and just accepted the harder leg workout (haha), but overall this was a bit disappointing. For the record, my husband and I are both athletes who bike, run, hike, and work out regularly, so if we were even having a tough time, I can't imagine what it would have been like for an average leisurely cyclist! So instead of taking the bikes out for 3+ hours, we returned them sooner since they were in such poor condition. Other than that, we still enjoyed exploring Tiburon and Angel Island for the first time on 2 wheels! If you rent here, hopefully your bikes will be in much better condition than ours were.

I am just amazed that they can get that much inventory inside but when you look out back outside and you see all the boards, paddle boards, sail boards, all the boards in the back it's amazing to see. The place is well lighted and fully stopped, and the employees there are very happy and eager to help you. I would recommend these guys at any time to come in help you figure out what you need if you're a newbie or to help you if you're an old salt of the sea.

We brought a life jacket for our dog and was able to include him in the kayak for no extra cost! We are beginner kayakers so it took us a while to get used to paddling and directing the direction of the kayak. The kayaking route was decent and safe.
