Alden Villa - Who doesn't love a vintage sconce??

Alden Press is one of those places that immediately makes you slow down and stare. The mansion…read moreitself? STUNNING. Antique woodwork, stained-glass windows, a full ballroom, old books tucked into every corner... it honestly feels like stepping into a storybook. If Belle had a favorite coffee shop, this would be it. I ordered the Christmas Chai Latte and it was Christmas in a cup. Super hot, cozy, and perfectly spiced. Our everything bagel sandwich (bacon, egg, cheddar) was so good, especially paired with the atmosphere. Ryan went all in on the White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha, and yes... we absolutely leaned into the seasonal drinks and have zero regrets. Even though it sits on the edge of a 55+ community, the vibe is welcoming to everyone. When we arrived there were just a few tables filled, but by the time we left the parking lot was packed. Clearly the locals know what's good. If you love beautiful spaces, seasonal drinks, and a quiet, charming morning out, you need to go. Alden Press is a whole experience, not just a coffee stop.

The atmosphere is just stunning because the original mansion that existed in 1800's has been enhanced and/or preserved. Most people who choose to eat there enjoy the environment and the food. Kudos to Harvey and his staff. I had a great meal today and really enjoyed the tour of the original mansion!

We visit Lancaster…read moreevery year and decided to switch gears and stop here and honestly, it was one of those why didn't we do this sooner? moments. Set on rolling Pennsylvania countryside, the views are straight out of a postcard. It's peaceful, scenic, and exactly the kind of place where time slows down (in the best way). The wine list is well thought out, approachable yet refined, with something for every palate. Nothing felt mass-produced or rushed and each pour had intention behind it. The staff deserves real credit: knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely proud of what they're pouring. They guide you without the wine snob energy, which makes the experience feel relaxed and inviting, whether you're a casual sipper or a full-on wine enthusiast. This stop elevated our Lancaster trip and added a fresh layer to a tradition we already love. Grandview Vineyard isn't just a winery, it's an experience worth building into your itinerary. We'll be back. No question. For photos, wine highlights, and more travel-food stops worth the drive, check out @travelingtastebuds_

It doesn't necessarily look like that as you drive up. The only downfall is that there is only one restroom. The pricing seemed decent. I was super pleased that they had a small selection of mocktails. Their strawberry lemonade spritz wasn't too sweet or too tart! It was just right. My friends seemed to enjoy all the wine choices! Additionally, the crab pretzel was amazing!! The charcuterie boards looked worth it. Plenty of seating and a live band was set up around 6/630, but we left just as they were coming in. Highly recommend and would come back (even as a sober lady!).

Locked our door from inside at 7:30pm. Then loud again at 1am & phone call at 3am. No way to lock your door if you go out to explore the town. Grounds unkept room some what clean. Bathroom floor had black hair all over and towels wrinkled hanging on wood rack. Bed was uncomfortable. Room was not the one we were told we were getting when booked. We were offered another night at a different time but not a refund at this time. Not a good birthday experience for my husband at all. Never staying at a Bed n breakfast again.

We should have been notified prior to our arrival, and I would have made other arrangements. The reason we select a bed and breakfast is for the breakfast. My guess is the kitchen is not up to code, and they are not allowed to serve food. The place is filthy, and the host is very unorganized. When we arrived the host took us to our room (no locks on the doors) and showed us our bathroom which was a separate room (we had to leave our room to use the bathroom). The bathroom light was not working and not enough towels. The host told us they would fix the light and then she went to another room and grabbed towels for us. The first time I took a shower I found a dirty hand towel hanging on the shower knob. So, I'm sure the bathroom was not properly cleaned. There was one dresser in our room, and all the drawers were full of personal junk, there was no place to put our clothes other than a hanger that was hanging on the wall. A microwave that didn't work and a small fridge that had ice build-up and needed cleaned were in our room. The downstairs was worse, looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the mansion was built, so bad that we would not sit in the living room or spend any time in the lower level. The day we left we walked around the property, and the place is overgrown with weeds. And on top of all this the host has accused us of stealing two of the nasty towels and breaking a defective window blind that was in our room. I guess they need the extra money to fix this place. We were very disappointed and do not recommend this place.
