If you're here to take a test make sure to take the escalators up to 2nd floor elevators (don't use the ground level elevators). The 4th floor is where you will be taking a test. Right when you get to the 4th floor it is very easy to find your way to the test center, there are signage right by the elevators that will direct you to where you need to go! They provide lockers to place all your belongings and will provide scratch paper and pencils to use. Parking is expensive and is cash only!!! Keep in mind the building is called Pauahi tower and is surrounded by a lot of eateries! read more

As much as anyone can enjoy testing centers, Prometric has great staff, clean environment with a bright and open testing room. While the location in downtown Honolulu is less than ideal to try and navigate, I definitely recommend locating the center beforehand. I stopped by and the women at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful, they will also call you the day before your exam with all this information as well. I mainly writing this review to help others in locating this testing center easier. The center will email directions to the parking structure on Alakea St. (see photos) I was fortunate enough got dropped off which I would recommend if you have longer test (the center does not offer parking validation). The center is located in the Pauahi building, upon entering take the escalator/stairs up to the main lobby level. Make sure you locate the correct set of elevators that will take you to floor 4, the elevators towards the back service the lower floors while they other set closest to the escalators services the upper floor levels, they are marked so just be sure to read the signage posted on the walls. Other than that it's not hard to find from there! As for the actual testing experience itself, I found the testing room pleasant and enjoyed the big windows that allowed natural light in, although some may find this distracting. However you can hear the occasional siren and sounds of the street traffic, outside below but they do offer earplugs and noise cancelling headphones which I found to do the trick. Bathrooms are located on the same floor just past the elevators and down the opposite hall, it is not far and they were very clean. The lockers use a traditional key lock and would fit a standard backpack if need be. Overall it was a good experience. Wishing everyone good luck on their future exams here! read more

I wanted to upload this new review as the others were outdated. Apple Maps and google maps have the old address. It was really hard to find. But the instructions once you actually register are correct and below. Big take aways is that it's inside a giant office tower on the 4th floor. If you can take your test on a Saturday; parking is free on a nearby street. They ask you to come 45min before your test. I.e 8am test; arrive at 7:15 for check in. Directions: From West Side: Get on H-1 E drive from I-H-201 E to Honolulu. Take exit 21A from I-H-1 E. Continue on Pali Hwy. Drive to Bishop St. From East Side: Follow HI-72 & I-H-1 W to HI-98 W/S Vineyard Blvd. Take exit 22 from I-H-1 W. Continue on HI-98W/S Vineyard Blvd. Take Pali Hwy to Bishop St. Visitor Parking $5.75/ half hour, $11.50 per hour parking fee. Parking is on Alakea street: Continue driving down Bishop. Make a left turn on King street. Another left on Alakea street. The parking entrance will be on the left before Hotel street. Park your vehicle on any floor. Take the elevator to the ground floor. Walk across to the Pauahi Tower. Prometric is on the 4th floor in suite 480. read more

Super efficient process to take a test here. From the courtesy call appointment reminder the day prior to checking in on test day. I found all staff members to be super pleasant with appropriate customer service skills. The building & testing facility was nice. I used the provided noise-cancelling headset. As others reviewed, they eventually hurt my ears so I would alternate on/off w/them. Even with them on, I could here disrespectful testers letting the door slam. The negative (removal of a star): no validated parking. I arrived super early to a nearby facility (THE ART'S at Marc's Garage) which has much cheaper, flat rate parking (I was told $14). That backfired as the gate to that parking structure was closed when I arrived at 6:15 AM so I sucked it up and had to pay $47 at the ramp below Prometric. It's too bad there isn't validation. My test alone was 4 hours. *** update* received an email response from ARTS at Marks. Learned their connected parking garage is a separate entity from them. To inquire about parking there, contact 545-8184. *** read more

The room is #710 so go to the seventh floor. Recently took a test here and they called the day before to remind me of the appointment time. Thy suggested arriving 45 minutes early, but I missed a bus and ended up arriving right at my appointment time. They were cool about it and the checkin process was smooth and easy. The staff were very friendly. The room I took the test in was a little cold, but not so bad. They give you a locker to put your things in, and they take their jobs seriously, but without being jerks about it. read more

My first experience testing at Prometric Testing Center. The place is really easy to find. Located in the 1132 Bishop street building downtown (reddish looking building), you take the elevators to the 7th floor, as you exit the elevators make a left down the hall and you'll see the Prometric sign outside of suite 710. The procedures are pretty standard. As you enter you'll need to sign in and give the monitor/staff person(s) your I.D. and maybe fill out a disclosure form (I didn't and it was ok). They have lockers with keys provided to store your belongings since you cannot take them into the testing room. The lockers aren't too big/deep. The workers here on my day were very nice, and because a lot of people were scheduled for the same time as I was there was a short 5-minute delay. I'd say it's better to arrive at the testing center at least 30 minutes before your scheduled testing time just in case. They do their best to get you scanned and verified before taking you to your testing computer. If you plan on calling them ahead of time to reconfirm an appointment, they may not answer the phones because they are very busy. So either leave a message and have them call you back, or call back between an off-time. The rules for test taking are pretty clear. Pretty much nothing is allowed in the testing room and the materials you are provided with are dependent on the regulations of your specific exam. The monitor walks you to your designated computer station and noise canceling headphones are available (or you can bring your own ear plugs) for you to use. I recommend using them as periodic noise in the testing room can get annoying as you try to concentrate. The headphones were kind of sore on me after a while but weren't too bad. Come dressed appropriately! The temperature in the testing room wasn't too cold for me because I wore a 3/4 sleeve shirt, but jackets are permitted as well. I got dropped off on my testing day so I didn't need to park in the lot, but 1132 Bishop Street has a parking garage available with their rates clearly displayed. I would recommend trying to schedule your exam on a weekend day if you plan on driving in/parking here or nearby because it's less busy in the area and weekend/holiday flat rates downtown are generally cheaper (which comes in handy if you're exam is 3+hrs long) . Ali'i Place parking garage isn't too far away either and is $3 flat rate on weekends. Good luck to all test takers! read more

How can you be a fan of a place you take a test? That is MADNESS! Or well, not really. Parking: I did end up parking upstairs which you can also get through via back road of Best Buy (same building). Prometric is near the middle of the parking lot (second floor), so just park as close to the middle as you can. Some stalls are reserved so watch out for that. Check-In: There is a desk on the left of the entrance that you check-in at. You will provide two forms of identification. At least one must have your picture. It is okay if your test ID does not include your middle name, but your identification does! I was concerned because the email said there needed to be an EXACT match, but in this case, don't worry. Just don't use nicknames. You will then review the rules and sign the check in sheet as well as the agreement. Then you choose a locker with the lock & key still on it, and empty out all your pockets. The lockers can only fit small purses. They also have a sliding door lock so to close it, you'll slide the gray tab up and to the right. Close the door, slide it back down left then lock it. The key and your clothes will be the only thing you bring into that room with you. You will be given two laminated grid sheets to write on with two pens. Testing Environment: You will be sitting at a computer from 2006. The testing system is fairly simple. The employees will not be explaining the system to you, but tutorials are available in case you don't know. The chairs are a bit old and the walls aren't necessarily walls. I could hear and see my neighbor typing and people talking outside. Generally, this place gets the job done. Service: I am pretty happy with the staff. They helped me almost immediately and it's always nice to hear a genuine "congratulations!" from a person rather than just a computer. They really made my day much better and I did leave with a smile. Final Tips: If they have room and you're early, you will be taken in early. If you want to do some last minute studying, you do it BEFORE you check in. I suggest if you have any formulas to write down, you write it down on the sheet(s) that they give you before you even start the test. read more

I've taken a couple of tests here, the latest one being a praxis II test. The testing center is located on the top floor and a little hard to find. I think the first time I came, someone dropped me off, so I didn't have to worry about parking, but this lat time I came, I drive around the second floor parking lot looking for "customer parking" but couldn't find any. I ended up driving back downstairs and parking in a "2-hour customer parking" spot for my 3 hour test -____- my advice is that you park on the ground floor and take the stairs to the second floor if you don't want to waste time trying to find parking. Apparently this 2 hour time limit also isn't enforced. When you check in, you'll have to put your things in a locker, copy a paragraph about cheating in cursive (it's so hard to write in cursive, I don't understand why they have his policy since hardly anyone writes in cursive anymore and it makes my hand cramp!!), show your ID, show that your pockets are empty, touch your butt, and get metal detectored. It's such a process.... Then you'll be escorted into the testing center, where you'll sit in front of an outdated computer for a few hours, clicking away, listening to people cough and click on their own computers. If your lucky, your scores will be displayed on the computer screen at the conclusion of your test, but you can't screen shot it, take a picture (you don't have your phone in the testing area) or get a copy printed. So what's the point? The people working here are nice enough, I understand they're just following procedures, some of the procedures are just silly though. read more

As a prospective test taker at this test site, I can say that the registration for test on prometric is quick, easy and simple. The website is designed to locate your desired test and closest testing center with available dates and times. Took me about 5 minutes to register for my exam with prometric (lets not talk about how long it took to get to that point though...not a fun experience...rarrrr!) Will update about the facilities when I take my test! But considering it's the only testing site in Hawaii, let's hope it's a good one! read more

This Prometric test center is the closest one to me (and perhaps the only one on island too). I took the EPPP at this center, located off Nimitz Highway in the same complex as La Tour Cafe, Siam Garden Cafe, and New Eagle Cafe. My test-taking day was the first time I'd visited that complex. Interesting to find a clean, sterile test center in the midst of all the other businesses. Available: lockers for your stuff, noise-cancelling headphones to block out extraneous noises (but you can bring your own earplugs). How to find the place, per the email instructions I received: "Candidates are allowed to park in the free 2-hour stalls on either floor and stay there for the duration of their exam regardless of exam length. The ramp to 2nd floor parking is behind Eagle Café. Building maps can be found in each stairwell/corridor area. The testing center is in suite B-297 and is on the 2nd floor next to Epic Ohana and Bikram Yoga." read more

Okay first things first...this place is a little difficult to find. You need to drive straight to the back and then head up the ramp to the second floor to park. If you are facing away from the street it should be on the left hand side of the central parking lot. I took my GRE here. It's a pretty standard testing facility. You go in, store everything but your ID in a locker and then are admitted to the testing room. The are very straight forward with the directions. Most of the employees are late teens early twenties so they aren't the most professional group (I'm used to being tested by crotchety old folk) but they make up for that lack of professionalism with friendly service. They are a testing facility so as far as receiving your score for your individual test, they normally don't know the policies, but they are also very upfront about their lack of knowledge, so you aren't going to waste your time being given misinformation. One guy even tracked down the customer service number for the GRE so I could call and get accurate information. read more

For 1132 Bishop Street Suite 701 Testing Center. On Saturdays after 2 pm the buildings doors are locked. Only access is calling security on-site. Security is tight (24 hrs service), gave the postman a hard time to gain access to the building. If you park in the structure the Testing Center presently doesn't do validation. Ask the testing center if their policy change. Find what is the cost of parking on the building's website (Credit Card and Cash). Not sure if debit is accepted (just ask). Check in 30 minutes before your scheduled time. This will give you a higher probability to start on time. read more

I came here to take my Praxis SLP test. Like others said, its a nice testing center, but be prepared to wander around a bit. Nothing worse than running around getting panicked and sweaty when you are about to be late for an important test. I read all the yelp reviews prior to coming here, which were all helpful and I knew it might be tricky. But for some reason, I still couldn't find some ramp behind an "eagle cafe". I was so concerned with finding this cafe that I didn't realized I had passed the opening for the garage and driven down the one-way street. I ended up coming head to head with a line of cars, and had to reverse down this tiny narrow road all the way back to the garage! Not fun at all. Best advice to find it...If you're coming off of the Nimitz, turn into the complex that is called Nimitz Center at 1130 N. Nimitz. When you are driving on the street that is in front of all the shops, be aware that you are on a one-way. Drive slowly so you don't miss the parking garage to turn into. Its easy to miss. If you don't turn into the garage, you will begin driving the wrong way. This goes for which ever direction you're approaching the garage. Both sides are one ways, and they meet face to face at the parking garage. Once you enter the garage you can park anywhere upstairs or downstairs that is marked 2 hour parking. Make sure not to park in the rental car section though. The testing center is upstairs, and is a pretty standard center. You have to put all your things in a locker, take a picture on a computer, present your id, sign the papers, empty your pockets for the workers to see, before you are admitted into the testing room. read more

fyi parking at Century Bldg (1st below-level parking entrance on R after crossing Beretania) is $3.50 per 1/2 hr, $1 cheaper per 1/2 hr than the 1132 Bishop Parking Garage. BUT CASH ONLY. (I don't know about other garage). Also if ur not a fan of over-the-ear noise canceling headphones (provided) and/or have fear of lice, u ARE permitted to bring ur own ear plugs. and trust me, even if u have a fairly good tolerance for noise distractions, eventually even the asshole who can't stop sniffing & sneezing every 35 seconds wears u down. Lockers also secure at center, so no fear of getting anything stolen. and good luck read more

Basic Prometric center with basic rules. Everything is standardized. Staff was very nice and friendly. Writing this review to reiterate that the pictures on his Yelp are old and the testing center is inside of the 1132 bishop street building room 710 (7th floor). Testing center and bathrooms were nice and clean. While taking the exam: The material you are provided with are dependent on the regulations of your specific exam. There are over the head headphones -- some exams use audio and video. There are also noise cancelling head phones. Both hurt my ears after a while (but maybe I have big ears!) There was occasional delay on re-entering the room because they are vey busy but they did their best trying to get you in without delay. You have locker to put your stuff in. I just wish I brought an extra jacket. I wore long pants and a light sweater and I was freezing. read more

The ladies at this site were very friendly! The bathroom was clean and I never had to wait; the sign in/sign out process was also efficient. It is very cold though, so definitely recommend thick layers (with no pockets!). read more

Looking for their parking is a bit tricky. First, Google maps told me directions to the wrong parking garage, so I eventually called Prometric. The lady who answered the phone already knew I wanted directions and she gave very clear ones. "Look for the brown arch. There is a building after Century Square, just a little past that, you should see the arch so drive slow." Those directions were great! Parking was very tight, but I was able to park my big truck. I would recommend driving a smaller car if you ever decide to park in their garage. (But I'll talk more about the parking later). Anyway, turns out that same lady who gave me directions on the phone was the same pushy lady when I came in. No greeting or smile when I came in. I felt like I was in bootcamp because every time she spoke to me, it's like she was barking orders. I do have to say though, they are really good checking to see that no one is cheating on any exam they are taking. This lady had me turn every single pocket I had inside out, had me shake my hood for my jacket, roll my arms sleeves up, roll my pants up, and even scanned me. They will do the same each time you return if you take breaks outside of the exam room. The other worker there who was checking me in before going into the exam room seemed like she was new. The pushy lady even sounded like she was barking orders to her too. "No, you have to make sure you do this, then do that." Anyway, the other worker was really nice. She smiled and was calm with the pushy lady. She even told me "good luck to you" before I started my exam. Navigating through the exam was easy. No issues with my computer whatsoever. They also provide noise blocking earphones if you want to use them. TIP: there are a bunch of others taking different tests/exams from you so they will often get up for breaks, etc. I suggest you use the noise blocking earphones so you're not distracted. I didn't, so I was a bit distracted by the noise some people made. Oh! And just FYI, the workers will often come in the exam room to do a walk through and check on everyone. When I was done with my exam, I asked the pushy lady about validation and all she said to me (after looking up from her cellphone in hand) was, "Oh, you can just pay for it downstairs." First of all, the one star rating is for her NOT mentioning about NOT giving validation. Yes, that was my fault for not really checking on the parking before I went to my exam or checking Yelp, but it would've made my situation that much better if she said something to me about it when I asked her, you know? I was so upset with what I had to pay for parking. The parking attendants give you no mercy either. What even made the situation for me even more crappy was I had to park in the loading zone and go back into the building and get cash to pay. I saw another guy do that too. TIP: PARK IN A CHEAPER PARKING GARAGE IF YOU PLAN ON DRIVING, get dropped off, or catch the bus! read more

Did not send notice for renewal of cna certification. I sent paper work for my renewal 3 week before my certification would expire, but here I am a month later with expired certificate. Have called each time I get a different answer to why they haven't processed the paper work. Now they want me to overnight paper work again. Do they not understand this kind of stuff can cause people to loose their jobs.If you are required to be certified for your position and your certificate expires you can't work I think it is there way of trying to get more money out of people. Just went here today. Took a 3hr certification test. Omg! Such a long test... Location: somewhat easy to find on the island, above eagle cafe on Nimitz, just tricky to find the actual testing site which is on the second floor in the center of the structure. Parking: park in the free '2hr customer parking'. I was happy to be able to find the spot closest to the prometric entrance. The prometric employee gave me a parking slip to display on my dashboard just in case. Testing conditions: I was worried that the site might be too cold, but I wore shorts, shirt, and slippers and did fine for 3hrs. They have lockers for small purses. There were 2 employees who make you empty your pockets and sign your name. The restroom is located outside across the parking lot. It's clean. The computers seem to be made within the past 5 years. It's an LCD screen. I expected a much older computer. They supply you with something to write with and on and also headphones. Eat a good meal before your test! I was hungry towards the end...Good luck!! read more

My first experience at this center was great. I didn't go to the one at my school because I didn't want to pay for parking. Parking is free here and there is lots of it! Standard test center for all the administered tests. I read from some old reviews that they were in Nimitz. They are now located in Downtown at 1132 Bishop street. The office is clean and organized but please come early to prepare as everyone might be checking in at the same time. The staff have cursory customer service attitude. Check you in and check you out. Read you a very rehearsed script and off you got to take the test in your cubicle. They also do use the security wand to check if you have any contraband. During my tests, the staff will regularly walk through the test centers. However, when they are not in there, I could hear them chatting. I thought that's pretty unprofessional. At times, I had to put on my noise cancelling headphones (provided) to reduce the distraction. They have lockers available to store all your items. Water cooler for those long hours of test and the bathrooms are clean. One very important note: the test center is freezing cold!!! Wear comfortably and wear a sweater. You will thank me for that. read more

Great testing facility. Prometric's previous location was a bit difficult to find, but its new downtown location is easy to locate.

Typical testing facility, guidelines, and procedures. The lower rating is specific to the person in charge of running the office. She was unnecessarily curt and abrasive to customers and employees alike. Despite showing up 20 minutes prior to my appointment, I was unduly prodded and rushed to complete the requisite forms and enter the testing room. It was clear that this lady was "in charge" and that the other ladies were "subservient ". One employee was being trained on procedures, and openly ridiculed in front of the customer. This "manager" barked orders, and could be heard even after I had entered the testing room and put on the headphones. Taking a computerized, standardized test, like the GRE, is stressful enough, this warden-like manager simply added to the stress instead of creating a calm environment, free of anxiety. I felt sorry for the 2 employees, because they were very professional, without being rude. Don't get me started on the parking situation!! read more
