We have had the opportunity to have classmates from here locally, the mainland, and also internationally. The staff here share their talents by working cohesively as a team to support the growth of our keiki during their time at KCAA Kuapa. We continue to keep in touch with many of our children's classmates and parents from this school, which really goes to show that the experience of attending preschool here at KCAA Kuapa laid the foundation for meaningful friendships both for kids and adults. The art, lesson plans, activities, journals, everything, regularly blow me away! They also have reasonable tuition rates, limited school closures (compared to most other private preschools), they serve breakfast in addition to lunch & snacks, have a beautiful spacious shaded playground (photos online are outdated, it has since been extensively remodeled), outside enrichment activities (hula, soccer shots, swim), an extremely convenient location for HK locals with easy & safe parking, and most importantly this school is just filled with warmth & love. A lot has changed since Mrs. Yoshioka became Head of School, but the school's heart, intention, and commitment to excellence have only grown stronger. Full disclosure: if you're a Type-C parent, this may not be the place for you -- this school runs on Type-A energy! I'm a mix of Type-A and Type-B depending on the situation, and the organization, effort, and high expectations at St. Clement's speak directly to my inner tiger-mommy love language. It's a lovingly run, highly structured environment designed to help children become confident, independent learners and prepare them for elementary school. Mornings are a joy -- Mr. Kuni manages drop-off like a Formula One pit crew (in the best, safest and most cheerful way), and our daughter is always greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. Beyond a thoughtful academic and social-emotional curriculum, the school offers wonderful weekly enrichment activities like Soccer Shots, Math Music Motion, and Hawaiian music class. These extras are a lifesaver -- that's a few fewer activities we need to drive to during the week! I'll never forget the day my daughter came home singing an entire Hawaiian song; it made me cry happy tears. I also love the daily classroom Google Drive photo folder -- I look forward to seeing what she was up to each afternoon. And yes, our 4-year-old has weekly homework and monthly projects -- our friends are always surprised, but we genuinely appreciate it. It's part of what makes St. Clement's special. Even community events like the school community picnic, Kupuna day and Halloween party are so thoughtfully done that they reinforce again and again that we made the right choice. I received tutoring here when I was in high school and it helped me tremendously. I believe they also have worksheets to teach you new concepts in various subjects if you don't have homework to work on. The owner, Mr. Miyamoto is a tutor himself and really tries to help the students understand any difficult problems! All of the tutors are extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. If you or your child needs tutoring, I would definitely recommend this learning center.
