Promet Restoration is an impressive working shop filled with projects as magnificent as the grand piano down to the humble dining chair. Tynis, the owner, is the type of man who's easy to trust with your valuable things. He met me exactly at our appointment time: drop-off and pick-up, he quoted the price upfront, and he's pleasant to talk with. I was the customer with the humble chair and remain super impressed by their piano restoration. As you can see from the pics, the repair is 100%! I'm very happy with the outcome. Equally, I'm happy it wasn't my job to get all the slats into the proper holes at the same time, seamlessly. Highly recommend. read more

Tynis Promet is not only an extraordinary craftsman, he is a wonderful human. I had a crisis with my 1906 Steinway baby grand and he rescued me -- and the piano. He went above and beyond anything I could have expected and solved my problem in 48 hours. And the best news: The piano sounds and looks amazing. Thank you, Tynis. read more

Tynis is the boss of piano repairs. When my Steinway was ruined during my move up to the PNW, Tynis came highly recommended directly from the Steinway folks in the Seattle location. I was a piano teacher for over a decade and a professional classical musician by trade, so my standards for who gets to work on my piano are insanely high. I was skeptical that anyone could fix my piano, and a little wary because it's a 1929 Steinway with the original Chippendale Mahogany cabinetry. Moreover, my piano is a sentimental item: I started my teaching career on it. But sure enough, Tynis told me what he could do and couldn't do, and then he got to work. It was so easy from the very beginning, not to mention how friendly and personable he is. A month later, Tynis delivered my piano good as new. He even came all the way to my home from his showroom to make sure the move and the piano were in stellar condition. I could hardly believe that it had ever been damaged. I'm long overdue on this recommendation but long story short, I will never trust anyone other than Tynis to work on my piano ever again. I recommend him to all my friends who are still musicians in the PNW. read more

I had Tynis restore my grandfather's piano which has sentimental value for the family. While you don't expect perfection from a restoration, Tynis was able to match the stain and finish remarkably. The piano looks beautiful for its age. I would highly recommend Tynis. He was professional, talented and a pleasant to have in our home. read more

My solid wood bed got damaged after a relocation, so I looked for furniture repair specialists in Seattle. Tynis at Promet Restoration quoted me a fair price, picked up the damaged part from my place, fixed it in his shop, and returned it two days later, as agreed upon. I'm very happy with the communication and the work that was done, and if I need another repair, I'll reach out to Promet Restoration again. read more

Tynis is exceptionally friendly, professional, and talented. I had some chipping on the veneer of my piano, and Tynis made it appear good as new, simultaneously giving me a much better sense of what to expect from that part of piano ownership. I encourage anyone in need of repair services to contact Tynis first and often as you need. Thanks again Tynis! read more

I highly recommend using Promet Restoration. In our last move the movers damaged the corner of our dining room table. After checking around and getting quotes I decided to use Promet. Not only was his estimate reasonable and competitive, he was willing to come to our place. Tynis did a great job and the corner looks as good as new. He was very friendly, prompt and on time, and was finished quickly. Also, I appreciate that he wore a mask the whole time. read more

I can't say enough great things about working with Tynis Promet. I brought him a family heirloom, a carved wooden sculpture of a woman carrying a basket on her head, from South America. She was broken at the ankles in transit from Florida to Seattle. It was a small job, but very meaningful to me and Tynis did an incredible job such that there is no sign she was ever broken in the first place. He repaired her in less than a week and for a more than reasonable price. read more

Let me just start out by saying that Tynis really does phenomenal work! We had him restore a few pieces of our piano in Snohomish, he came out and gave us a fair estimate, and he is very honest and a master of his craft. We had Tynis fix a few blemishes and chips on our upright Baldwin, which has sentimental value, and he treated it like his own. His work was better than the manufacture, in my opinion, and we were more than pleased by his work and the price he charges for his service. If you need piano restoration, I would highly recommend giving Tynis a call. Thanks Patrick & Christina read more

I needed help to restore an antique coffee table that needed a facelift and had been chewed by our puppy! Tynis gave a reasonable quote in a super timely manner. He started work immediately and was super communicative throughout. He even offered to pick up and drop off the piece! The table has never looked better. His attention to detail and gentle care for a family heirloom was so appreciated. Thank you, Tynis! read more

I decided to surprise my wife by having her inherited grandmothers 1930's baby grand piano restored. Tynis/Promet Restoration came highly recommended from our piano tuner and after a few discussions with Tynis and a more than fair quote, I decided to move ahead with his services. As this was a surprise, I needed everything from the moving of the piano, the timing of delivery and of course the quality of the restoration to be perfect (not to mention a bit stealthy to keep this from my wife). The final result blew away my expectations and ended up being a very emotional experience for my wife. His attention to detail was over the top! He was able to replicate the original color of the piano and apply the appropriate finish to a highly sun damaged and scratched finish that we had inherited. He also replaced/refinished all of the hinges, bolts, pedals, felt, etc. because in his words..."it's the right thing to do". We couldn't have been happier with the end result and would highly recommend his services to anyone. On a side note, Tynis was also very helpful in providing me with a great piano moving team and coordinating with our piano tuner to refinish the hammers and overhaul the tuning mechanics. Outstanding coordination effort on his part and exceptional overall group of people that he can recommend to complete any piano project that you are looking to finish. read more

We have a Yamaha Digital Baby Grand. And with delivery came a chip in the lid. Tynis' work was masterful. After the repair I could not find where the chip had been. He is the Mozart and Beethovan of piano repair. And a very nice guy as well. read more

I just moved to town only to find my great grandmother's large, antique, gold mirror was chipped on many parts of the molding and the hardware to hang the mirror had become loose during transit. I found Tynis Promet online and decided to give him a call since he had so many positive reviews. I'm so thankful I did! He had the mirror for less than a week, replaced the hardware, and fixed/touched up several parts of the gold molding that had become damaged for a very reasonable price. Now, the mirror looks better than it ever has! He paid great attention to detail, was friendly, easy to contact, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for antique repairs/touch-ups of any kind! read more

Tynis from Promet Restoration made our ragged old piano sparkle as if it was brand new. While I know his emphasis (and likely most lucrative) services revolve around full restoration, Tynis was happy to make a house call to provide us with an estimate on the cost to simply "touch up" a recently purchased rather beat up 25+ year old piano. He was also happy to schedule the work to be done a month out from the date of the estimate, and arrived on time and worked above and beyond what was promised in the original estimate. Whenever possible he uses matching original finishes and takes the time to do the work correctly leaving no detail untouched. I would recommend Tynis for loving care of your instrument without hesitation! read more
