The day before the appointment, the office called to cancel. When my wife asked the reason why, the person explained they "weren't equipped for kids....(clear hesitation in her voice/demeanor)...under 15 years old" and referred us to U of M. I called back today without telling them my or my daughter's name or the fact that she has down syndrome, only that she is 13 years old and they explained they could see her no problem. The office manager, Sherry, did an "investigation" and said the reason the appointment was cancelled was because they did not treat my daughter's condition. We never told them she has any condition in the first place nor does she have one. I obviously have no concrete proof that this office discriminates against people with or with certain disabilities, but it was clear to me that they do. Even though office manager Sherry assures me that's not the case.

Then they called and told me I could come pick up my trial contacts at any time and I asked if I needed an appointment to do that, they said no. I got there and they told me I had to see the doctor before I could take the trials home and had to set an appointment because he was busy.

Thankfully, we got a second opinion from a different eye doctor in a totally different eye care group who performed a simple in-office surgery which fixed the problem for $200 and was done in their office..... Highly recommend you consider getting a second opinion for anything complicated or complex in the way of eye surgery.

They were also able to use my sunglass frames and fit them with new lenses. I'm also a sUAS drone Pilot and he was knowledgeable enough to tell me not to use mirrored lenses. Easy to make appointments with flexible scheduling. Then on the day of my appointment I called to see if they could get me in early since I got off work early and they were able to. The cute and friendly lady that helped me pick and fit my frames was awesome. Even the doctor was very nice and walked through each step. I felt at home and welcomed and even when I went back days later to have my glasses readjusted she was there and took care of me in seconds. Keep up the great work! Thanks again. But they advertise an exam and 2 pairs for $89 or examinations and 2 pairs of progressives for $159. That's certainly not the case. My exam and 2 pair ended up being $333.
