I was looking for a blush colored dress; which are difficult to find. Thankfully Lisa and Terri were here to support me and help find the perfect dress. We tried on lots of dresses without feeling rushed or that we were inconveniencing them. They helped me find the perfect style dress; mermaid which made me feel amazing and not in any way insecure. After, Lisa researched several blush dress options by the designer I loved. While they didn't have the blush dress I was looking for in-house, Lisa tracked down a sample of the dress I wanted to try from Maggie Sortoro; the Divina (its so chic, modern and fabulous)! I chased this dress around Orlando trying to meet up with it at a store to try it on. I was never successful at this because the dress was so popular. But because my experience with Lisa and Terri was so incredible and they made me feel so confident in the style I loved, I bought the blush Divina without ever trying it on! I had tried on the same designer and the same style the main difference was the color; so it wasn't too much of a risk. I didn't have to buy the dress from them, but I wanted to because they earned my business with impeccable customer service and patience. I'm sure I am not the only bride they have treated so well; you can just tell they are genuine and enjoy their craft! Lisa and Terri are a perfect team. The experience is very much a boutique environment so you don't just feel like 'a number'. I also found my bridesmaids dresses there and my mom purchased her gown there too. They really go over and beyond to make sure you look exactly how you imagined on your wedding day...but better! I can't wait for my dress fitting this week and to wear the finished product in February! Thank you Lisa and Terri! We rented a tux from Formal Spot and it's a disaster. We just got the tux yesterday at about 5:30…read morepm (6 days before our wedding). My fiance immediately tried it on and first of all it was huuuuge!!!! We ordered a "slim fit" tux, if this is slim fit than what would regular fit be?? The fact that the measurements were wrong is irrelevant really because the tux itself is insanely cheap looking. It reminds me of a Halloween costume (or a waiter at the Olive Garden). My fiance understandably was freaking out, so we packed it right back up and drove right out to Winter Garden Village to find a replacement. Luckily we were able to rent a new Calvin Klein tux at Men's Warehouse for only $30 more and we can pick it up tomorrow (4 days before the wedding). All this being said, the ladies at Formal Spot were very nice leading up to this, which made me hesitant to write such a negative review. Maybe their in-store formal dresses are a different story but the outsourced tuxes are just awful and I would hate for another groom to make the same mistake we did to save a couple bucks.

Here's the thing: I found dresses I liked at pretty much every other store I had visited in the Tampa Bay area. But they weren't "the one" and I knew it. You see, there was this dress I had seen online from bridal designer Madi Lane that I had fallen head-over-heels in love with -- and I knew I couldn't make a final decision without trying this dress on. Just one problem: I couldn't find any stores near me that carried this dress! Even stores that carried Madi Lane didn't have this particular dress in stock. I started calling every Florida dress shop that carried this designer. Some would just flat-out tell me "no, sorry," while two offered to arrange for a loaner dress to be shipped in -- which was nice, but I'd have to pay, of course. The fee would be applied toward the cost of the dress if I chose it. I would've taken them up on this offer, until I spoke to The Collection, who told me they had the dress in stock! So I immediately made an appointment, and since it was far enough away that my friends couldn't join me on this particular weekend, my fiance actually came along for the ride -- but stayed down the street at Panera while I went to try on dresses. Melanie was my stylist, and as soon as she asked what I was looking for, I turned around and pointed to my dress -- which was on the mannequin in the window. "THAT ONE!" She grabbed it off the display along with a few other dresses that fit the style I was looking for, and we headed into the dressing room. Of course, we made the mistake of trying on "my" dress first, because I instantly knew that was it. I didn't want to take it off. Everything else just looked terrible in comparison. Melanie knew it too... but I didn't want to say it was "the one" because none of my friends were there for that "say yes to the dress" moment. You only get one of those, after all. And she understood, so she made a follow-up appointment for me so I could bring my friends back to Winter Park and make a day of it. A few weeks later, that's exactly what we did. We road tripped from Tampa and walked in, where this time Roya took care of us since Melanie was working with another bride. They had my dress all ready for me to try on, and as soon as my friends saw it, they knew it was exactly what I had been looking for. They brought us all out glasses of champagne, and let us take a million photos from every angle you could possibly imagine. I think we were there just as long as a regular dress shopping appointment, haha. Looking back at photos from that day, I have the biggest grin on my face! I've never been one who really cared a whole lot about fashion or high-end clothing, shoes, or anything of the sort -- so I had NO idea a dress could do this to me. Go figure. Once again, I did not want to take that dress off. Probably a good sign that I made the right choice :) That was at the end of July, and they told me the dress would be in by December. So I was pretty surprised to have them call me at the end of September to tell me my dress was ready to be picked up! I wasn't able to get over to Winter Park until about a week and a half later, but the pickup process was super quick and easy. It wasn't until this final visit that I actually realized there's a free parking garage right behind the building. I'd only found it because there was a massive street festival going on that made regular parking pretty much impossible -- but on all my previous visits, we'd managed to find street parking just fine. Although knowing the garage was there would've made it easier, haha.

For my daughters wedding she completely transformed her dress. My daughter lost a little too much weight and Elsa had to deconstruct the gown and put it back together 4 sizes smaller. The wedding dress fit like a glove and looked exquisite. You would never know it was completely dismantled and put back together. She is very detail oriented and has an amazing eye. Elsa also tailored my dress and it fit perfectly. We also brought her the bridesmaid dresses without the bridesmaids as they all lived in different states. Patricia, the woman who assisted me, was…read moreabsolutely fantastic and made the whole process so enjoyable & explained everything thoroughly without pressuring me. I made an appointment online the day before (essential - do it!) and was assisted right away when I arrived. Patricia gave me a tour of the store and explained how it was laid out/where to find the size and style of dress I was looking for. One of the great things about this boutique is that they actually carry plus sizes in store, unlike many other stores that do not. I needed to try on dresses in my size range - otherwise, what's the point? Their dressing rooms are nice and big so you have plenty of room to maneuver in/out of gowns. Patricia was super helpful in getting me in/out of gowns (some of them are complicated, ya'll!). There are tons of big mirrors on the walls once you step out of the dressing room to get the full picture of how the dress looks on you. Once I realized I found THE dress the process was very simple - I just had to put a 50% deposit down today and the rest will be due when the dress comes in (in about 6 months), which is standard. There was a small amount of paperwork to sign as well. Patricia sent me home with a folder full of info about my dress and I will receive an email/phone call as soon as it comes in. Once it arrives, I'll have to set up another appointment to do a final fitting to make sure everything is perfect. Overall it was a great and stress-free experience and I'm so happy I found THE dress finally!

I think most of them were Jenny Yoo so I don't know how accurate of a a price comparison that is to the other designers and dresses they carry, but I was never pressured to try on or purchase a dress out of my budget. The sales consultant was so friendly and helpful. I actually came twice before deciding on a dress, and she put no pressure on me! I'm a very indecisive person and she was happy to help me try on and retry on multiple dresses to make sure I loved the one I picked! I went dress shopping in late June and am expecting to pick up my dress in October or November, so keep that timing in mind if you need your dress super quick!
