Gwen is absolutely amazing!! My bridesmaid dress required several alterations, which made me pretty nervous, especially since I was my sister's Maid of Honor. Front and center with the bride so my dress had to look perfect. Lemme tell ya, Gwen delivered!! The dress fit perfectly so pleased with the outcome and to have met this sweet wonder woman. Thanks again Gwen!

The folks at Long's are incredibly kind and welcoming. They took my dress in around the waist, took up the hem, and let out the seam in the arms which was a touch snug. These were, what I thought, fairly minor alterations. The charge was over $400. I was willing to swallow the price with the assurance from a friend and fellow reviewers of their high quality work. However, this is how the hem turned out. I asked if it would be made less visible the first time I saw it, and they assured me "yes" it was just in its interim stage. When I picked it up though it still just looks stitched on, and upon closer inspection there are red stains along the hem! I love my dress and they certainly did a nice job with the shape, but I just did not feel like these folks provided the quality of work I was expecting for the price. If you have a lace dress, I would recommend going elsewhere.

Gwen at Long's does phenomenal work!!! She altered my son's pants for the Homecoming Dance in the waist and narrowed the legs and hemmed. She does beautiful work and my son was thrilled!!! She has done alterations for us for over 15 years now. Highly recommend Long's Alterations in East Orlando!

Gwen was amazing to work with ! I had a mermaid style wedding gown and I needed it taken in to get a more form fitting look. The dress came out perfect and fit like a glove !! I was so happy with the alterations ! I also got a lot of compliments on how gorgeous the bustling looked ! Thank you longs bridal !!

Just had a blanket repaired there. I have a new puppy that loves to chew and she destroyed it. I took it there and they were able to repair it to like NEW condition. Now if I could only get the puppy to quit chewing things

I had an amazing first time here. The store is very clean and modern. When I first walked into the store, I was very impressed. I met with Jenny and she helped alter all my clothing. We had a lot of fun getting to know each other and she was a very good listener. She made sure to do everything I wanted. The price is a bit steep, but you're paying for high quality work. I can't wait to see how everything turns out!

Ask the Community - Long's Bridal & Alterations

Hello, how much is it to get my wedding dress altered and how long does it take?

I will depend on what you need done and what your dress looks like. I did not need hemming, just bustles and a sash attached and it cost around $100. But for a hem--my dress has like 7 layers of tulle, so that would be expensive. You should go in…

I am a minority who looks extremely young, therefore causing me to be dismissed at times in stores. Regardless, having worked in customer service myself, I usually have very high hopes on how I am treated in stores. With that being said, I was BLOWN AWAY by how welcoming and helpful the staff was at O&O. The young lady who assisted me was Faith, who immediately greeted me upon entrance. Throughout our interaction, she truly made me feel welcome and helped me bring out the inner confidence that I never knew I had. That honestly speaks volumes! She was very attentive and helpful in her suggestions. Faith was very patient with me throughout the whole process and was able to help me pick out styles that best suited my body frame. Some of the dresses I personally never would have chosen for myself to try on turned out to be among my top options! THANK YOU O&O and especially Faith for an AMAZING experience. I definitely 110% recommend O&O!

Unfortunately, that was a very false claim on their website as there were less than 10 dresses to choose from and from a designer they are no longer working with. I was able to squeeze into several dresses and they put material in the back to try and show what it might look like if it closed, but it was very uncomfortable, very unflattering, and not the bridal experience I was hoping for. There were 2 gowns I loved , but neither close to my size so I couldn't get an actual sense what they would look like on my wedding day. There are no other options, you just have to buy the dress (both were around $1800 plus tax and alterations) and pray it actually looks good. That's gonna be a heck no for me. 5 stars for the salon and the personalized attention, 2 stars for the overall experience.

They kindly allowed one of my guests (MOH) to bring her 1 year old+4 year old. Parking lot is spacious-- I didn't have any issues finding a spot when I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment. But it was surprisingly full once I got out of my car closer to my appointment time. We were greeted by Mary, who also turned out to be my stylist for the day. We briefly sat down, answered a few questions, then Mary Godmother started working her magic. Mary was respectful and mindful of my budget, knew what and when to ask me in private (behind the fitting room curtains aka before hearing my hype crew's opinions), has the best personality, and clearly knowledgeable in what she does. I had no EXACT style in mind, but I did have a general idea and some inspos. By the 5th dress I tried on-- I was in shock by how much I immediately loved it. Tried a 6th one then back to the 1st one I really liked, but those felt meh after the 5th dress. Mary asked the right questions with each dress I tried on, actually listened, and ultimately guided me to the perfect dress that left me speechless first then giddy right after. THE dress felt sooo ME and absolutely made me feel like a BRIDE. THANK YOU SO MUCH, Mary! This just happened 5 days ago, so I'll have to post an update on how the rest of my experience goes moving forward and when I get the dress. So far, I am over the moon. FYIs: -When you click "Book an Appointment" on their website, it says "Our wedding gown price point is $1,500-$9,000", but in the store I was told prices start at $1,800. -I had to sign a contract that "All sales are final. No returns, refunds, or exchanges. No exceptions." before giving a payment for the dress. I'm not sure if the ~immediate~ 'final sale' is a standard as this is the only bridal shop I have been to, but I did not expect that to be the case on a non-discounted gown.

The woman helping me first asked me my favorite style and size. Then she instructed that we search the racks for something that catches our eye! It was so much fun and the store had tons of dresses to choose from. I grabbed about 7 dresses. I fell in love with two of the dresses. They were a really great price and were so beautiful! Since this shop is an Outlet - it is a try on, buy and take home that day shop! Dresses are one of a kind - so if you see something you like you have to jump on it quickly! I would recommend coming here after trying on at a traditional bridal shop. You will have a great experience once you know exactly what you are looking for.

I want to preface this by saying I had a great experience the first time I came here in December,…read morewith Belle 10/10. My full review this time is specifically related to the older stylist who was not helpful at all in my experience. And honestly was very "salesly" and I only tried on one dress the entire appointment. So here goes... A Masterclass in Doing the Absolute Least... I showed up excited to wedding dress shop. I left wondering if I had accidentally interrupted someone's last shift before retirement. We called ahead to see if we could move our appointment earlier and were told, "Sorry, no availability." Totally fine--except when we walked in and the store was so empty it echoed. Eventually, a consultant appeared and asked what kind of dresses I liked. I described exactly what I was looking for and was promptly informed that they had nothing like that in the store, that they were fresh out of lace mermaid dresses. No offer to check. No alternative suggestions. Just a verbal shrug. Meanwhile, my mom--on a completely unrelated journey to the bathroom--managed to stumble upon MULTIPLE dresses in my size (bridal 4) that fot that description. Apparently the restroom route is more fruitful than asking the consultant whose job this is. The only dress I tried on? One I had already tried on a month ago--pulled by a previous stylist (shoutout to Belle, who was actually amazing and clearly carried the entire store on her back). This time, it was a size 6, and I was told it would require $1,000 in alterations to fit me. I am a bridal 4. The math is... confusing. The consultant then graciously pulled exactly one more dress for me. A size 12. She warned me it would be "swimming" on me, as if I hadn't already tried on several size 12 dresses before with zero issue. It seemed like she didn't want to clip me in a bigger dress. It was giving "I'm done for the day and I would like you to also be done." Overall vibe: I felt less like a bride shopping for her wedding dress and more like an inconvenience standing between someone and clocking out. If you're looking for attentive service, thoughtful styling, or even mild enthusiasm--keep walking. If you want to be told nothing exists while standing in a store full of dresses... congratulations, you've found the place. Would not return. Would not recommend. Would suggest the bathroom tour though--it's where the real inventory lives.

I liked more dresses here than at any other boutique I visited. Me and my 2 friends felt welcome from the moment we got there. They were expecting us and ready for my appointment. We were offered mimosas and some sweet treats (drinks were covered due to Covid and felt safe). The prices here are hard to find- nothing is over $1500. (I really don't believe in spending $2000-$3000 on a dress you will wear for a few hours). My wedding is in less than 6 months which meant I had to get something "off the rack" and nothing on there was over $799! Teresa led me to the racks with my size and told me just to choose whatever I liked and she would bring it over for me. No lie, I immediately saw 10-12 dresses that were exactly what I was looking for. Because they were all so nice, I ended up with about 5 favorites. Teresa was patient with me while I tried on every single one at least twice. She also gave her honest opinion and helped me decide what dresses to eliminate based on alterations since I am on a time crunch. The moral of this story is 5 stores and about 50 dresses later, I said YES to the dress!!! Before going to this store, I was skeptical about ever finding "the dress." I live in Miami and drove to Orlando in search of something else and I found it. I'm very happy with my experience and my purchase. I would recommend this store to anyone on a budget (or not). At the start of the appointment, we were given a brief tour of the store and then expected to pull most of the dresses ourselves. I had done my research ahead of time and even saved specific dresses on Pinterest that I wanted to try. When I showed these to my stylist, I was told they did carry those dresses, but I was still expected to search for them on the floor with my family rather than having assistance pulling options, which felt surprising and frustrating for a bridal appointment. Throughout the appointment, I also didn't feel very comfortable asking for help when it came to adjusting the dress for photos on the pedestal, so my family ended up stepping in to assist instead as most of the time the stylist stood off to the side seeming disinterested and offered no assistance. As the appointment went on, I was able to find a few dresses I liked but wasn't feeling like I had found "the one." I asked my stylist, Heather, for guidance on what else I might try based on the styles I seemed to be leaning toward, but was told there wasn't really anything else to suggest. This was disappointing given the size of their selection. Later, when my mom pulled a couple additional dresses for me to try, I was told I was running low on time and that if I didn't like those dresses, it might not be worth trying them on. The way this was communicated made me feel uncomfortable and rushed, and I ultimately felt a bit awkward continuing the appointment. By the end, I felt stressed and ready to leave, and although I did try on one final dress and revisit one I liked, the experience overall left me feeling disappointed. While I was excited going into Lilly's Bridal, I ultimately left feeling very underwhelmed by the level of guidance and support during the appointment. I hope this feedback is helpful for improving the client experience for future brides.

I like their rental idea because the price includes alterations, & accessories. i found THE gown here, actually. No one greeted me & although 3 employees were working & not busy, I had to go ask for help. I asked the WRONG person (apparently). She looked at me as though no one has ever said they wanted to buy anything from their store before & with an attitude she says " excuse me?" This was her exact response, "Excuse me, but we don't just let ANYONE waltz in our store & try on wedding dresses as they please, Im afraid Im not going to be able to let you try on a dress again" I forget what I said at this point but then she said she couldn't take the chance at getting the dress dirty.
