The beginner adult class is great to get comfortable with the machine, winding a bobbin, and learning simple stitches all while creating your first product (a small drawstring pouch!). Everyone who joined the class was also so sweet and supportive. I'm sure it varies class to class, but it definitely felt like a great community. Urban Sewciety also has a small shop on the first level with beautifully curated fabrics and different projects that you can also take home to try. They also run different events (and sales) from time to time, so be on the lookout!

All three ladies at the front desk were very kind and helpful. I would come all the time if I was a local.

If you're looking to do microblading, look no further! I spent a few months researching…read moremicroblading places but always found a flaw in them. I needed someone I could trust 100% with my eyebrows. I never got that feeling with places. I stumbled upon Glam Brows on Yelp. I read a few reviews, checked out their website & followed them on Instagram. I followed Patti's work for about a month on Instagram. I knew her style was what I was looking for. I wanted a natural look and not something that looked like I just filled my eyebrows in. I knew I wanted to do microblading but was still scared. I saw online Glam Brows was running a promotion so I decided to sign up. Patti contacted me immediately to set up a time to talk. When we spoke on the phone I knew right away I could trust her and would choose her to do my eyebrows. She's sweet, informative & really listens to you. She explained the whole process on the phone and answered any in initial questions I had. I told her I would feel more comfortable if we set up a consultation, which she said she recommends to everyone. I brought my mom along with me for my consultation because she was skeptical about the microblading process. Patti answered all of our questions, explained the entire process and did not glamorize it at all. I love her because she's completely honest and up front with you. She isn't just going to tell you what you want to hear. After leaving the consultation, even my mom loved her! She knew she was someone we could trust and would make my eyebrows look the way I wanted. You shouldn't chose a place because it's"cheap or it's the first place you find. You should do your research and should feel 100% comfortable with your esthetician. Fast forward to the day I got the microblading. I was anxious and nervous and although I knew I 100% wanted to do this, it was scary! I was mostly nervous about the pain. I don't have a high pain tolerance and I wasn't excited to lay there for 2 hours. Patti kept reassuring me it was going to be fine and the pain was minimal. She kept asking if I was okay and told me we could take a break whenever I needed to. I also love how detail oriented she is and how clean her space is. You can tell she takes her work seriously and she's there for YOU. She doesn't answer phone calls in between the tattooing. Your time with her is strictly for you. I am now at 2 weeks post touch-up. Let me just say, FOLLOW HER INSTRUCTIONS. There is a list of pre and post instructions. Follow them. You won't regret it. I followed them to a T and she said my eyebrows healed amazing - it was one of the best she's seen. My eyebrows are still healing so they're a bit patchy. But I am over the moon happy with the outcome. I wake up in the morning with perfect eyebrows. They look so natural that no one can tell they're microbladed. I can't recommend Patti & Glam Brows enough. If you're still skeptical, just give her a call or set up a consultation. I can assure you after meeting her you'll love her as much as I do!

The owner responded to my younger son that "this place is not for you." Instead she could have answered it in a more friendly such as " maybe when you are a little older you can join us". This is a children friendly learning environment and should be treated with thoughtful answer. After finishing our less than 5 min school tour I have asked the owner if I can see how an actual class is like particularly for my sons group of class in September. She responded and questioned me that why I was there today as if I was wasting her time. She also said the person who arranged the tour must have already explained to me the junior class won't be starting until September and questioned me in a rude tone of voice and attitude made me feel that I was completely wasting her time. Even if I have missed out the information prior the tour but they should still treat their customer with patience and respect. I truly felt it was unprofessional and extremely disappointed with this touring experience as I had a high expectation that this ninja code location at Westfield should be exceptional with customer service and was expecting a children friendly environment but it was complete the opposite. Despite how great the quality of the coding that my children will be learning from this facility. I would not want my children to be in this unfriendly environment and won't recommend any parents here.

I thought I found a great deal on an Abrakadoodle party on Suburban Momma. I want to be clear,…read morethat this is the Abrakadoodle franchise advertised for Bergen, Essex and Hudson Counties in NJ. On the coupon, they implied that the party would take place at a local business (Matisse Chocolatier which is a great place). It wasn't until after I made the purchase and was calling to schedule the party that it turned out that there was an additional rental charge for the location. Fine. It also turns out that this is just an art project; I was to supply all food, cake, tablecloths, plates, napkins, etc. I would also be doing all the serving and cleaning up. Hmmm. I see. That was not made clear in the ad, but OK. When I spoke with the Director, we talked about the kind of art project -- she sent me photos and talked about it being a mixed collage, painting project. My daughter is into origami, and she said that perhaps they could incorporate this into the party (my daughter is a very bright 8 year old with equally bright friends). I assumed that the party would actually include some type of lesson and would be 'educational,' and when parents saw the word "Abrakadoodle" was on the invitation many older siblings of the invited kids asked if they could come. I went to the location early to drop off my party items, and the store owner was not even aware that I was about to have a party there. Fortunately the owner at Matisse Chocolatier was extremely nice and helpful (next time I will have a party directly with them!!) When we arrived, it was true that the teacher was well-organized, and had materials all set-up. She also had a very calm voice and initially had the children all sitting down quietly doing art. However, the issue I had was that there was absolutely no interesting lesson, no theme -- the project was nothing more than a paint/glue/glitter piece of paper which lasted less than 45 minutes (the Director said that it would be 1.5 hrs). After the children were done, naturally they all got up and were running around in this small space, and the teacher just cleaned and packed up as if to say that was the end of it. The last half of the party was agonizing as the children ate in about 15 minutes. If only I had been warned, I would have had something else prepared!!!! At the end when the children were leaving most of them barely remembered to pick up their art pieces -- that tells you how uninteresting and uninspiring it was. I have thrown at least 15 good-to-spectacular kids parties over the last 10 years with my 2 children, and I have to say that this was absolutely the most disappointing. If I had paid full price, I would have been EXTREMELY angry. With the deal, I guess I got what I paid for (even though I don't even think that was worth it.)

Came here to see the showroom for Hunter Douglass window treatments…read more Not what I was expecting of a showroom, seemed underwhelming, but once I spoke with Suzette, I was able to go through the selections and options more thoroughly. Very friendly staff. While not everyone was able to help us with the HD window treatments specifically, they tried hard to answer our questions, and obviously felt bad that we were waiting around not being helped -- only because the Suzanne was occupied with another couple. Once we were helped, we got a price breakdown. There was definitely no upselling. She gave us affordable options, explained the different types of window treatments (the benefits of motorized ones to regular pull downs) and also price points of more expensive options. We left after making an appointment with the designer, who takes preliminary measurements and a more detailed price estimate. After that, Chris came for more exact measurements, then we waited until the product was made. Fast forward 8 weeks later (a large custom sized shade), Chris came back to install, and within 45 minutes of his arrival, it was all done -- we had our pull down black out shades. Very happy, blocks out a lot of light, and waking up in the morning is a lot less painful without the sun beaming straight into our eyes. Would recommend!
