There is no way to build things fully in that space. The things we did learn we only went over once so we barely remembered at graduation. We didn't cover all the things they advertise. We never did a month of plumbing, hvac, electrical. we touched on electrical lightly, we did carpentr and no hvac or plumbing. They had the whole group doing projects together so none of us ever got to complet anything ourselvea. I want to report the school for letting us sit in class Monday thru Friday for 7 months and leave without skills. we cannot read blueprints or know the actual names for tools nor can we make any estimates or anyhting because we werent taught. There is no curriculum in place, it's just what the teacher decides to touch on. This is not fair to the people who had to move things around in their lives to be able to attend school to change their lives. This is wrong and we feel cheated!!! I would never recommend this place to anybody for any subject

I recently attended the 6 day staging class in L.A. CA. It was difficult for me to justify leaving…read moremy job, family and traveling out of town to attend a class for 6 days. Also, I'm an older student, and that was a bit intimidating. However, the first day of instruction, I knew I had made the right decision and haven't looked back! The AHS&D offers expert instruction and one-on-one support and encouragement. The class sizes are small enough that this vital service is available throughout the program. I've taken many interior design classes in the past, and this intensive program far exceeds the quality of most of the former classes. As a former career counselor, I know there is a huge variance in quality among training programs. There isn't a lot of "filler" content during class time as is so often the case in college courses. I.E., we weren't subjected to endless personal antidotes irrelevant theories and dated techniques. Wanda Colon (HGTV Alumni) and instructor for this program, is lively, kind, funny and very on-trend.It is obvious that the instructors are currently working in the design industry. Tammy, the marketing assistant worked tirelessly to make sure all the many details of the program are taken care of for the students. The program content not only provided state of art design trends and suggestions, but offered field trips so that students could actually stage various homes, etc. These design programs include one-one-one business coaching for students, as well as assistance with actually setting up a staging and/or design business. This factor is a huge benefit. The students in the class came from all over the world and shared their design expertise as well which created a very supportive team atmosphere. I loved the staging class so much that I've signed up for the Design portion next week. The supportive team and AHS&D really offer a superior design program which can be used in so many different capacities in the world of design. If you've ever had an inkling for interior design or staging, I would encourage you to call AHS&D and chat. They are extremely gracious and professional and student-centered. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this program to aspiring designers. Sincerely, Sophia Moranda, Aptos, CA

**Pros:** One aspect…read moreof the position that I appreciated was the afternoon schedule, which provided a convenient and manageable workday. I also valued the variety of classes and programs offered to the children. These opportunities allow students to explore their interests, discover new talents, and develop important creative, social, and academic skills. The organization has the potential to make a meaningful impact on young people through its arts and educational programming. I also found that supervisors could be supportive and helpful at times, particularly when they were engaged and willing to address staff concerns. **Cons:** One area that could be improved is the communication and consistency surrounding projects and expectations. For example, staff were encouraged to be creative with a trifold board project, but at the same time, we were given very specific instructions and were warned that decorating the boards outside of those instructions could result in disciplinary action. This created confusion because the expectations for creativity and following strict guidelines seemed contradictory. Clearer instructions and more consistent communication would make these types of projects more productive and enjoyable for staff. I also had concerns about some comments made by a supervisor regarding younger students in grades K-2 during a pep rally. I believe individuals in leadership positions should demonstrate patience, professionalism, and respect when speaking about and interacting with young children. Leadership should set a positive example for both staff and students. Another concern was the limited availability of supplies. At times, there did not appear to be enough materials for staff to effectively carry out activities and projects. I believe greater attention to providing adequate classroom and program supplies would significantly improve the experience for both employees and students. Lastly, I believe there is an opportunity for supervisors to provide more consistent support when staff members encounter challenging situations with parents. There were instances where I felt that the concerns or perspectives of staff were not given enough consideration. A more balanced approach, where supervisors listen to both the staff member and the parent before making a decision, could help employees feel more supported and valued. **Communication Regarding Returning for the School Year:** Another concern I experienced was the lack of consistency regarding opportunities to return for the fall. Before leaving for the summer, I was told by my supervisor that I would be leaving on good terms and that I should have no problem being considered for a position during the school year. I was also told that I could apply for the fall. However, when I later reached out to both supervisors by email regarding returning, I did not receive a response. I ultimately applied through the organization's website and was informed by HR that I was not considered a good fit. This was particularly disappointing given the previous communication I had received from my supervisor and the expectation that I would be able to return. I understand that hiring decisions can change based on organizational needs and circumstances. However, I believe employees deserve clear, honest, and consistent communication throughout the process. If there were concerns about my fit for a future position, I would have appreciated being informed directly rather than receiving no response after previously being told that I was leaving on good terms and would likely be able to return. The difference between what I was initially told and what ultimately occurred made the process feel inconsistent and discouraging. **Overall:** Overall, Casita Maria offers valuable programs and opportunities for children, particularly through its arts and enrichment classes. The organization has a strong opportunity to positively impact young people and help them discover and develop their talents. However, improvements in leadership, communication, resource allocation, staff support, and transparency regarding employment opportunities could create a stronger and more positive experience for both employees and students.

I really looked forward to my evenings at the NY Academy of Art. Adam Cross, the instructor, was phenomenal. He was an absolute expert on the matter, and provided constructive criticism, always in a kind manner, basically just giving you tips on how to improve and sharing ideas for things you can do to make your drawing or painting better. He made the class fun and interactive and was genuinely interested and passionate about teaching us art. I did not have prior experience coming into this class, and I didn't feel lost at all.
