Fun place to meet friends and socialize. We meet here monthly with my Book Club. The food is a bit expensive though.

We LOVE Project Social!! Staff is great, food is good, rotating beer selection is awesome (they also have ciders, seltzers, sangria, wine!), and really reasonable prices. I personally love the Doheny burger, the bowls and the cauliflower, but there's definitely something for everyone. This has been our go to spot since we moved to the neighborhood 3 years ago and now our kids' (2.5 & 1) favorite spot as well. We just started coming for breakfast too and it's my new favorite thing to do with the family on weekends. Great vibes with the indoor/outdoor dining/socializing areas. Not the spot for a romantic sit down dinner but perfect for a good time! We are thankful to live so close to such a fun local gem. read more

We stopped in here for a nightcap. This trendy spot is great for couples and families. We stopped in around 5pm on a Sunday. So the vibe was more family, but I hear they have live music sometimes and pops off. This is a Tap House and they do have a full kitchen. They also have a lot of Wines to choose from. I am over booze at this point. So I chose a coffee and their donut holes. Let's say they jumped out and spoke to me! -The server asks, "Would you like caramel and chocolate sauce?" -I look confused. -She elaborates, "To dip them in. A local gem with a wonderful outdoor patio vibe plus great food and huge drink selection (even as a wine drinker). Perfect place to meet up with friends or grab a chill dinner with the family. Their shrimp Caesar salad is amazing and we get the hobie bowl all the time, too, Bc it is such a good mix of chicken and all the fixings (bacon, guac, greens, queso fresco). There's something for everyone bc my kids aren't adventurous eaters but they love their pepperoni flat bread and burgers. This is a open-air type of building. There's a roof over much of it, but if it's a windy day, there's little structure to moderate that windspeed. There's a very nice gas flame fire 'pit' so that helps. One concern: I don't see anything to keep out a wandering two-year-old from trying to climb in, so use caution when choosing a seat if you've got children in tow. Project Social's signage prominently indicates that both coffee and tea are available. I'd imagined at least a few types of hot tea to be on offer, perhaps the basics: black, green, oolong, chamomile, darjeeling, jasmine...? In fact, if you want tea of any kind, it's apparently dispensed from a machine in a hallway. It appears only to be cold, flavored teas. Plain black iced tea has a separate dispenser. This isn't 'bad', just unexpected. This place seems nice. It's not an environment I enjoy, but clearly other folks do. Project Social seems to be trying to satisfy the coffee crowd, the (iced) tea crowd, and the beer crowd, and they have an admirable variety. Ordered for patio Dine-in. Delicious food! Loved their tator tots and the food was great! They messed up on my to-go order after but they replaced it. Still, I wish someone had come up and told me instead of me waiting 35min.+ with nothing going on with my beeper to ask about what happened to my to-go order. The Bomb Mi Sandwich was delicious. This is a great spot to hang out whether its hot chocolate in the morning or sharing a couple of drinks with co-workers late evening. Very clean and casual interior that blends the indoors and the outdoors seamlessly. We went there for hot drinks on a Saturday morning. We Had hot chocolate and mocha with oat milk on both. Nothing like a hot beverage on a cold morning. Very family-friendly as kids were playing with rocks and never too early for a nice cold beer as we saw. I love this place so much and I have this dilemma. I'm reluctant to tell the world how great this place is, for fear of this place becoming too crowded. But that's not a bad thing, really. Because if this place does really well, maybe they'll open another location closer to where I live in Aliso Viejo. What's so great about this place? It's got great hours from morning to night, so I can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is a one-pager, so I don't get paralyzed from too many options. The atmosphere is super because there are so many seats and tables, the huge courtyard is very inviting, it's the kind of place I can hang out with a few friends, actually have a conversation without shouting above the noise. Plus, all kinds of beers on tap, with optional sized pours - quarter, half, or full pint. Yes, make your own beer flight! Love it! Plus, it's co-working friendly with a community table of outlets and free wifi. Yes, I would definitely love to spend all day 9-5 here. Haven't done that yet, but I would. Count on it. For the record, I've gone twice in 2 days, and both food items I had were extra delicious. Yes, both times I got the pork belly. First the pork belly bowl for lunch on day 1, then the pork belly burrito on day 2. If I may make one suggestion, be a little more careful on wrapping and cutting the burrito. I love that they cut the burrito in half, we did request it, not sure if they always do by default. But, I got stuck with the half of the burrito that had only tater tots and no pork belly; while my son got the half with all the pork belly! It'd be much better to have the pork belly and tater tots more evenly distributed across the axis that's rolled, so there's a perfect bite on every munch. Yes. Yes. Yes. What a GREAT spot! Chill vibe, friendly and attentive staff, relaxing atmosphere, delicious food and an AWESOME local and craft beer selection. They did an excellent job of blending indoor and outdoor space to feel connected yet still separate. There are a couple of living room-style lounge areas with comfortable chairs for group hang conversations, as well as a fire pit, four tops or small private tables. Plenty of seating options to accommodate any sized party. Only one TV, which is great. You can get a quick score update, but continue to stay engaged with your friends, which is the real point of a place like this. Came on a night they had a limited menu, got the burger and tots. There's much positive to write about this place, but I will save a wall of text and give you the TL;DR. It's 1 min away from Salt Creek Beach. The only place of its kind in the area. They have a TON of local and non-local craft beer brands and wine brands on tap. They have a large social area, half of which is inside the premises and half outside in the open air with cute tables where you can socialize with your friends. At night, they light up the little candle-like lights outside and the patio transforms into a chill area, as opposed of the inside, where lots of people socialize like they would at a pub in London. Staff is very friendly, and even though they are slammed at times during weekend evenings, they still find time to have a word or 2 with you. Overall I think this place is a huge success. Just keep the attitude, beers and awesomeness up. The Breaky Burrito did not disappoint! Not only was the staff super nice, fun, and enjoyable, they happily modified our burrito and added some greenery(because we try to be healthy)! I appreciate the beer selection, so I came here for for a late lunch on my birthday. I had the Pork Belly bowl, which was pretty good. The beer was great, as usual and the food came fairly quickly. The primary challenge ownership will have at this location is the staff. They clearly don't want to be here and are borderline rude. It also rubs me the wrong way that they request an 18 or 20% tip at checkout. It is NOT a full-service restaurant, you get your number and sit at a table. They bring the food to you. My server just dropped my food off and didn't say two words, never to be seen again. The girl pouring the beer seemed super annoyed that I was asking her for a recommendation. I made a decision within 20 seconds, and it wasn't like I was wasting her time. Maybe she was having a bad day. If I owned this place I would send all of my employees somewhere known for exceptional customer service, so they can understand what it looks like. Even a basic lesson in customer service would go along way. As a white man, I would like to respond to the previous race baiters on here, Project Social does not discriminate, their service just plain sucks, indiscriminately. We used to visit often but seems like the quality of food has suffered recently. Today's burger was swimming in aioli; wasn't edible even when you tried to pat it off. This used to be a very balanced burger with tomato, arugula and a small dab of aioli. The chicken sandwich was too much bun for portion of chicken and wasn't as flavorful. I'm not sure if they used to make their own ranch or not (which is always better) but now they give you a single packet of Ken's ranch. Wow! I've been here many times and have had great experiences from large parties to small visits. Im a beer lover and tend to have questions with beer style. I was super lucky to have Sunny serve us. She was WAY informative on ALL the beers and gave us the tastes of one's we had interest in. She was SPOT on when I asked for the flavors I wanted. This establishment has below average food and service. Our food arrived cold and was pretty gross, and while that knocked a star, the service was worse. The bus boy would not bring us water though we requested it. I brought this up with the assistant manager and he 100% waived it off. Perhaps if I were a white man, the feedback would have been received differently. POC I strongly recommend against this restaurant. Reasonably priced, Brussels was $8 which included pork belly and Brussels sprouts and the iced vanilla latte with oat milk was $6 and it was pretty okay. Just a note, the only flavoring they carry is vanilla! Overall a great spot for Sunday brunch. read more

Good food. Awful service. We had driven past this place a few times and decided to check it out yesterday. Inside it's an order first and food delivered after setup - similar to Burntzilla. We walk up to the cashier who looks like Seth Rogan and tell him it's our first time trying the place and ask him if he has any recommendations. The kid says unenthusiastically, "well, I don't know what you like so I can't tell anything." so lame. I go ahead and order the Hobie buffalo chicken sandwich (delicious!) and he says, "that's probably our number one seller". I'm thinking - why the hell didn't you recommend it then? Anyway, the ice in both of the soda machines was nearly out, as well as the iced tea. I think it's just an issue of no management/training. Also, they have an off-brand soda fountain which might not be for everyone. Another kid delivers our food to the table and sets down my wife's grilled cheese with brisket (delicious) in front of me and calls it the chicken sandwich. I nicely point across to my wife's table setting and say that the grilled cheese should go there. He argues with us twice about which sandwich is which before realizing he's got them mixed up. I guess he had a long day. We weren't going to argue about it, but it was kind of funny. Definitely a younger crowd. Food was good, but we won't be coming back because we are not cool enough. The fact that this place has 3.5 stars is a reminder that Yelp sorta sucks. I've eaten here 10 times and the only issue I've had is wait times during busy weekends. This place has incredible food. (Including one of the best breakfast burritos in the area) and amazing local beer. Prices are fair and employees are kind. The vibe and atmosphere is great. I highly recommend coming here. Pretty nice concept, kind of unique in this area, stopped by to pick up food and drinks on our way to the beach. They were only serving to go when I was there, otherwise they have tables outside and even a mini dog park where you can sit down and enjoy some drinks and food while your pooch plays with other dogs. We got the Hanna-BarBelly Bowl (they all have funny names!) and a Hobie Bowl, their food was awesome! Topped that with some nice beers to go, Buenavezza and a Two Hearted from a large selection! (their online selection is huge, but some are rotating). The food came out quick (didn't order in advance since we met some friends here but wasn't sure when exactly and wanted the food fresh).
