Interesting. As you walk down Grand Avenue in South San Francisco, you will notice a beautiful City…read moreHall building, a park near Masonic Center, and also this surprisingly beautiful building for a Public Library. It's amazing how much money the city spent on landscaping, but it was a bit disappointing once you step into this public library because it's very congested and smaller than it looks from outside. Public restrooms are available. Free book bin for you to use/choose books right outside too. It's a different feeling inside. Go left side or go right side. Librarian is available to help, but the hall looks dark. The two sections have crowded aisles and don't feel exciting for a public library visit. There's a basement level too. They could have invested into more space for the library and books next to City Hall. Parking is always a hassle in this part of town and you'll likely end up paying at the street meters. I like the building, but the vibes don't reflect what South San Francisco has to offer.

Only to be told that they were closed, despite being fully staffed during posted business hours and whilst selectively letting some patrons in. Was then referred to the Grand Ave. location, which looks to be attached to a very active kid's playground. AND much worse, hit with PAID PARKING meters surrounding the library. You mean people must essentially pay to interface with a public resource? Believed that's what our taxes were for? Disgusting.

Cute library, easy street parking…read more Book drop return is in front outside of building so you can drop things off even after hours at night which is easy. There is a quiet room for studying if you want some privacy. Shared space with others. 3 tables in there. Power outlets available in wall. There is an outdoor space in the back, pretty clean with a few tables to read a book or do a group project. These are small Tables of 3, so not for a big group Makerspace room is also back there, cool tools and machines like laser cutter, 3D printer, art supplies like scissors, beads, all kinds of stuff. Great for kids Friendly staff, appreciate what they do!

Especially the spacious & sunny outdoor space. It is very comfortable to take a book and just hang out here in the afternoon for an hour or too. There is also a community room / marker space in the back of the library. The room has a 3D printer & a sewing machine. It's also a very energy efficient and environmental friendly building. It captures rainwater and uses low water plants. I definitely recommend this small and cute neighborhood library. It's one of the treasures in Brisbane for sure!!!

I asked them if they could help me do something on the computer and the lady told me they definitely could but that they also have designated times where you can come in where people can devote a little more time with helping you troubleshoot. So awesome. While I was there I was also with my little one and I was told they offer story times and play times for the little ones. During the times i've been there they've also done coloring, painting, and fun activities like singing with them. This library is always clean and parking isn't hard. If you're taking your little ones there's also a park right outside as well as tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields and baseball diamonds. It's a wonderful library filled with the most incredible staff. Every time I come here and I need a little help I'm always blown away by the level of kindness and support. Thank you to all the amazing people that work in this library providing so much love and support to help our community grow. You are all valued and appreciated beyond words. A special thank you to Sarah, Chela, and Natalie for all your help and hard work.

There's a separate room just for kids which is a nice perk of this branch. The room houses books for all kids with a small section of hard picture books (which my 2 year old peruses), a wall of graphic novels for young readers (which neither of my kids are ready for) and then aisles of other reads for mostly ages 5 and up. There are also 2 computers with kids games and a fish tank. There are a few rounded kids tables with chairs and my least favorite... a dirty stained couch. As of now, we have been here maybe 6 times. The space is always clutter free and organized and there's usually not a lot of other people there. I have asked the staff a few times to help find books and sometimes they are less than friendly which makes me feel like a burden. Other times they are helpful and willing so it depends who's working that day. They have a no late fee policy which is great, and they automatically renew your books if they are late. Overall, this is one or the lesser exciting libraries I've taken my family, but it works for what we need.
