So many brand new books for borrowing!!
    Stephen D.

Millennials be like: "Guys. We should LITERALLY have, like, a Netflix for books." Ugh. After forgetting about the SB Library for a hot minute like my aforementioned peers, I quickly remembered all that was great about this place and stopped by for an enjoyable visit. Here's what I like about this branch: 1) They have a pretty up to date collection for such a small city. I grabbed a couple 2016 Lonely Planet travel guides (in the year 2016, which is so friggen rare at any library) work-related stuff, and cookbooks. They were all in great condition, not covered in mystery stains as the horror stories go. With this great library, who needs Barnes and Noble?? Or spending money on books!? 2) Free and fast wifi is always helpful when you're studying or working on a project 3) All of the librarians defy the "SHHHH!!!! I'm a Mean Librarian!!" stereotype. Sounds really silly, but they're all super friendly, helpful, and jolly. Tip: Parking is kind of tough as there's no parking lot. There's plenty of parking along San Mateo avenue. It's never a bad idea to grab something at Never Too Latte/Starbucks and walk just 2 blocks down to this spot with your java. This place makes me happy to live in my jolly, well-connected, seemingly well-funded city of San Bruno! Hope you enjoy this spot as much as I do!

I just found this little library located little bit away from the down town San Bruno in a residential area. So this is not a big library, but it is very cozy and I think has all the basic things you would want, including individual seating on the second floor, plus public events. Built in 1950th, this is an example of how older building blends in with new technology. Charming :)

Are there spaces where I could connect for an online meeting or interview? I guess my question is, are there quiet rooms/spaces for anyone to stop by and log in a virtual meeting?

It's amazing how much money the city spent on landscaping, but it was a bit disappointing once you step into this public library because it's very congested and smaller than it looks from outside. Public restrooms are available. Free book bin for you to use/choose books right outside too. It's a different feeling inside. Go left side or go right side. Librarian is available to help, but the hall looks dark. The two sections have crowded aisles and don't feel exciting for a public library visit. There's a basement level too. They could have invested into more space for the library and books next to City Hall. Parking is always a hassle in this part of town and you'll likely end up paying at the street meters. I like the building, but the vibes don't reflect what South San Francisco has to offer.

You mean people must essentially pay to interface with a public resource? Believed that's what our taxes were for? Disgusting.

So awesome. While I was there I was also with my little one and I was told they offer story times and play times for the little ones. During the times i've been there they've also done coloring, painting, and fun activities like singing with them. This library is always clean and parking isn't hard. If you're taking your little ones there's also a park right outside as well as tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields and baseball diamonds. It's a wonderful library filled with the most incredible staff. Every time I come here and I need a little help I'm always blown away by the level of kindness and support. Thank you to all the amazing people that work in this library providing so much love and support to help our community grow. You are all valued and appreciated beyond words. There's a separate room just for kids which is a nice perk of this branch. The room houses books for all kids with a small section of hard picture books (which my 2 year old peruses), a wall of graphic novels for young readers (which neither of my kids are ready for) and then aisles of other reads for mostly ages 5 and up. There are also 2 computers with kids games and a fish tank. There are a few rounded kids tables with chairs and my least favorite... a dirty stained couch. As of now, we have been here maybe 6 times. The space is always clutter free and organized and there's usually not a lot of other people there. I have asked the staff a few times to help find books and sometimes they are less than friendly which makes me feel like a burden. Other times they are helpful and willing so it depends who's working that day. They have a no late fee policy which is great, and they automatically renew your books if they are late.
