I love this place close to home and all, but open hours are way too short (should close later than 6 or 8pm) and true there are a lot of louder rowdy children that are not disciplined by their parents or tutor . Not even asked to be quiet... Some kids sit in the adult section and talk non-stop, sing, giggle, and play while completely disrespecting other people who are trying to read or study. Not really library-like in that sense.. more like a free childcare place for them to play. Librarians need to calm 'em down so it feels more like a library. The kids do NOT even try to whisper, so spoiled. It worries me that these little kids would be the people of our future. How are they raised now a days?!! Seems spoiled by our lack of care. Are they taking advantage of this fact or are they just oblivious? Restroom smells like stink bombs and WOW looks like a battle field!

Very nice and helpful staff. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere. Best place to relax and read or get a book for kids' book reports.

Seriously? What is with these hours? This library should just close. Make sure you double check the hours before going out there.

Don't indicate that you're going to be open over the holidays if you're not. Might have saved me a 20-minute drive.

There's a separate room just for kids which is a nice perk of this branch. The room houses books for all kids with a small section of hard picture books (which my 2 year old peruses), a wall of graphic novels for young readers (which neither of my kids are ready for) and then aisles of other reads for mostly ages 5 and up. There are also 2 computers with kids games and a fish tank. There are a few rounded kids tables with chairs and my least favorite... a dirty stained couch. As of now, we have been here maybe 6 times. The space is always clutter free and organized and there's usually not a lot of other people there. I have asked the staff a few times to help find books and sometimes they are less than friendly which makes me feel like a burden. Other times they are helpful and willing so it depends who's working that day. They have a no late fee policy which is great, and they automatically renew your books if they are late. Overall, this is one or the lesser exciting libraries I've taken my family, but it works for what we need.

I asked them if they could help me do something on the computer and the lady told me they definitely could but that they also have designated times where you can come in where people can devote a little more time with helping you troubleshoot. So awesome. While I was there I was also with my little one and I was told they offer story times and play times for the little ones. During the times i've been there they've also done coloring, painting, and fun activities like singing with them. This library is always clean and parking isn't hard. If you're taking your little ones there's also a park right outside as well as tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields and baseball diamonds. It's a wonderful library filled with the most incredible staff. Every time I come here and I need a little help I'm always blown away by the level of kindness and support. Thank you to all the amazing people that work in this library providing so much love and support to help our community grow. You are all valued and appreciated beyond words. Dedicated Chinese and Spanish language sections for books and media. The librarians are very welcoming and helpful. Very small library so it is hard to get around much. I said I understood, I was just trying to kill time and made my way upstairs. I kid you not, they rounded 4 times to the computer room in 25mins. I was the only person up there. She came up 3 times and sent someone else who nervously said "I was just checking" when I said "how you doing" and before she scurried out. I almost felt bad for the young lady, but didn't appreciate the former surveilling me when they already have a camera upstairs. They can check if someone was sleeping, which I wasn't. Library itself is small with at least 3 staff that I noticed. They also seemed to be more concerned about someone possibly napping the someone blasting music inside the library.

The first few floors of the library aren't too quiet, which I prefer, but the 4th level and higher are quiet study areas. There are also plenty of electrical outlets, but they are scattered throughout along the walls and floor (not built into the tables like what more modern libraries have.) I'm not a SFSU student, but was able to come here with no issues to get some work and studying done. There is very limited paid parking around the area and the free street parking is impossible to find, but if your mobile and capable enough you can park unlimited for free at the mall up the street and walk over (it was about a 15 minute walk.) There are also several muni and bus stops in the area, so public transportation is probably more ideal. I like getting my steps in, so I parked at the mall and walked over. There is free guest wifi in the library for non-students. You just need to sign up for it with your name and email address, and the system emails you a one time password to use. The wifi is surprisingly slow, considering that this is on a college campus and I'm sure there are many students that rely on needing good internet speeds for their courses and studies.

After the renovations, this place feels more like a miniature IT campus similar to that of Apple or google. And the library gets super busy especially during midterms and finals. Surprisingly there's a Help Desk where you can get a loaner laptop, you have basic computer questions. Basically this is a good place to start for your studying needs.

It was kinda my fault for not asking first hand. Before placing it randomly on the table. But at the same time, they were treating me low-key like a pariah. When there's other people posting cool stuff on the table of flyers and all. But I was being "it is what is is" towards that library employee, even though I didn't necessarily agree with that. They didn't give me a specific reason for not allowing me too. Maybe they didn't like the content of the promotional materials related to Patrick Lew Band. I don't do PG rated music or Youtube videos. But I see how it is. That's fine with me. The good thing is, they didn't ban my printing privileges at any San Francisco library. If that were the case, that's when all the boundaries are crossed. I go to the library often to print documents online on my computer. I utilize most of my library visits in San Francisco for that alone. I print online at the library a lot because I don't like the cost and maintenance of printing things directly at home. But they do have a good selection of physical media here. I actually like this location more than the Ingleside branch because it's more spaced out and not as narrow in size and area. I only give this branch the 3 star review because of the lady who worked here who insisted I cannot place any of my band's flyers here anymore, based on experience dealing with her.
