Very good brewed coffee, medium roast peruvian. The food was really good, two handed sandwich and an avocado toast. And a platter sized hash brown dish to go. Absolutely delicious! This secretly vegan coffee shop is a gem! I wasn't sure about breakfast here having seen the terms sausage, egg and cheese but when we walked up to the counter to order, the cashier (who also doubles as a food runner) assured me that everything is vegan as the menu indicates in small font on the bottom. Honestly, if I wasn't a vegan and hadn't searched for that, I really wouldn't have known. I ordered the Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit w/ Cayenne Maple and a chia pudding to-go. She forgot to ring my husbands waffle up so we had to go back and order it, getting another coffee each because the cappuccino with oat milk was so good. I'm not sure if they have any other milk alternatives but the oat milk was delicious. We ended up splitting the biscuit, which honestly would have been enough for me but my husband still wanted the waffle and when it came out a few mins later, it was so worth it. Everything is so fluffy and yummy! Chef must be on my level because they like the spice also. Overall, this is a must for us next time we are in Sarasota! Highly recommended!! read more

Every time I call no answer, makes it impossible to ever order to-go from this place which really sucks cause I love it

Worst experience I've ever had. Me and my wife drove 30 minutes to eat at this place for our first time. Walked in 30 minutes before closing and apologized knowing they were close to closing (really just being respectful). They let me and and my wife look at the menu for 5 minutes while we discussed the different food items we were going to purchase in front of them only to be told by 1 of the male workers when we went to order that we can only order an açaí bowl, oatmeal, and matcha. I wish I didn't have my time wasted and get my hopes up to eat only to be let down by the entire business's laziness to decide to start cleaning up and shutting down the kitchen 30 minutes prior to closing. This type of business practice disgusts me including the attitude that the blue eyed, bearded, male worker gave me when I mentioned it. If you're going to shut down the kitchen 20-30 minutes to closing maybe you should change your hours or get some workers or an owner that aren't lazy and that value customer service over the opportunity to get home early. Not to mention the worker told me that "we'll be alright" when I mentioned how they were losing money by shutting everything down as I was going to spend approximately $70 plus tip. Now I will never go back to this place again and ensure other vegan friends of mine to never go there as well. Absolutely terrible customer service and disgusting behavior by the employee. read more

Yay for fully vegan restaurants!! The food was delicious. I think it's even good for non vegans. We have tried the breakfast sandwiches, tacos, burritos, waffles, their chocolate cake, 2 of their cookies, and a latte. I enjoyed it very much. Only thing I would recommend is if the restaurant can carry ketchup. Some people like having ketchup with their potatoes. They didn't have any and looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for some. Also, they pour the syrup on your waffle ahead of time. It was too much. It would be better if on the side, that way the customer can put the amount to their liking. Also, the waffle becomes soggy if you have a breakfast sandwich or something you're eating before. Another downside was coffee was not very hot. Oatmilk was probably still cold or not heated enough. The coffee shop on S Pineapple Ave became my favorite one in Sarasota when I first visited it back in 2021. A very clean and modern place with exceptional coffee, great vegan food options, and welcoming personnel won my heart on my very first visit. Normally I visit this place several times a month noticing that now it's not so good anymore. They've changed their menu and removed some of my favorite dishes, including vegan quiche. Sometimes some of the staff is rude. But my biggest complaint is that now they play very loud hardcore punk music. It gives me an instant headache (can't help it, it's just my personal reaction to this type of music). Not to offend anyone! I deeply respect everyone's music preferences and understand that every person has rather unique music taste. Yes, it's not possible to accommodate everyone. However, there are many "neutral" music options that would be at least acceptable for most people. I would still give a 5 star for the coffee and interior design though. read more

As a vegan, it is awesome to see a coffee shop exist that is purely vegan. The avocado toast with the egg substitute was great minus being overly drenched in oil. While it's my first time, I would eat here again but ask for no oil on the avocado toast. Many vegans try to do little to no oil. With the avocado toast, it was really the only flavor I could taste - talk about a heavy hand in oil pouring!! The cappuccino was great. He!l Yea the Heady Espresso was amazing! Great all vegan coffee shop with breakfast menu. Beautiful location and interior decor (except for candles burning plants smh) Acceptable bathroom. Friendly accommodating staff. We got the Heady espresso which was the best thing and a solid quad espresso. Two ganache filled sugar coated doughnuts which were tasty but the chocolate filling was semi sweet leaning bitter. The giant hash brown was crispy and huge but needed salt and wound up being mighty greasy. The breakfast sandwich was ok the egg was great fluffy and speckled with chives, the bun was dense and the same greasy hash brown was on it. We ordered a cinnamon bun but it was forgotten so we picked it up to go on our way out.(turned out to be pretty tasty really cinnamony and tender in places) I got a bag of beans to go they roast in house and they are delicious. I will try other breakfast items if we find ourselves back in Sarasota. read more

The meat egg and cheese substitutes tasted like the real thing! I was duly impressed, not being the biggest fan of vegan food. I visited Project Coffee for the first time today and I really enjoyed my experience. I ordered the avocado toast and the shaken oat espresso (decaf). Both items were really good. The avocado toast was on sourdough bread (toasted) with micro greens, radishes and extra virgin olive oil. It was perfectly seasoned and the toast had the perfect amount of crunch. The shaken espresso drink was cold. I was hoping for a warm drink since it was cold outside but that's my fault for not asking first. I just went to Project Coffee to get the Belgian Waffle. I was extremely disappointed to find that it is no longer on the menu and has been replaced by pancakes. The Belgian Waffle was amazing, tall, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside and covered with plant based butter, syrup, a mound of coconut whipped cream and a pile of fresh berries and bananas. It was an amazing experience!! The pancakes were mediocre at best, covered with a berry compote (sweet but flavorless) and about 3 tablespoons of a thick coconut butter/cream. If you have some place to go , don't stop here even for a simple order. 10 minutes for 2 easy drinks to go. Put the drink order in a line with food orders. They give you a number for a drink order. They have too many people working who don't actually work. Getting your Coffee seems to be secondary to creating vibe and socializing. I had to ask for the second drink after 10 minutes. Looked like a nice place with a good vibe, but when I ordered a $4 iced tea I was very disappointed. Ordered black tea and they obviously use the same process to make hibiscus because it tasted more like hibiscus than black tea. Ordered the tea to go and they charged me .25 cents for the cup. What, $4 for a tea and it doesn't come with a cup. When I got the tea the cup was so full of ice I got four sips and it was gone. This was the first and last time I go to Project Coffee. read more

I don't like going to coffee shops where it's mostly young white folks blasting hip hop yet they have no black or brown employees -- it makes me feel uncomfortable as a person of color - also I don't like seeing nudity from the kitchen which I saw and the kitchen was kind of grimy ;( - I won't be going there and I wish that the people working there would have a Black Lives Matter sign and have black employees if they want to be cool and blast hip hop all day . Love the vibe of this place. Great location. Really good coffee. And I loooooove that they make their chai tea lattes with Dona chai. It's so good. But it is a vegan place so all of their food is fake eggs and fake meat. Their oatmeal bowl was delicious but I wish it had more of the sautéed bananas and the nuts crumbled instead of served as whole. We aren't vegan and vegan food is so overly processed so we won't be coming back for that. But it's a great place for a good coffee. read more
