I took my cat Nala to be spayed in February 2026. Unfortunately, she experienced severe complications, including a fever, anemia, and internal bleeding. After the procedure, she stopped eating and drinking, prompting me to seek urgent care. The veterinary clinic's communication was inadequate, and I was told to take her to her regular vet. Nala spent the night at an urgent care facility, where she received treatment for her condition, including IV fluids, antibiotics, steroids, and pain medication. Due to the high cost of care, which was $1,200 per day, and the uncertainty of her recovery, we opted to take her home. It's been nearly a month, and Nala is still recovering. Today my kitten passed away while in the care of the team at project catsnip. While the caregivers were compassionate and empathetic, I am really feeling guilty and I wish I could have not taken him here. Although I'm not sure if anything could have been done, differently, if he had been at a traditional vet, maybe there would have been a better chance of survival. Just devastating. read more

They could show up. Drove from Adairsville to Woodstock to be there by "7am sharp" only to find no one had showed up. Called with no answer then they texted and said it had been cancelled. No one called or texted. The guy in front of me said they'd done the same thing to him after he'd drove from Woodstock to Cartersville. I had a feral cat and 2 of her 4 kittens in separate carriers that I had to drive back with and release, hoping to catch them again to take them somewhere else. be sure that you look at your Animal and ask questions when they bring him back to your car after surgery. I assumed that my cat was OK and they put him in the car in the crate, but when I got him home, his breathing was labored and I didn't realize that this was not normal. $1100 later at the vet and he had pneumonia that had set in right after surgery. The vet said if we did not do x-rays, and all the things that were needed that the only other option was euthanasia. Tried to contact Catsnip several ways and finally got someone to call me back several days after. The owner said they had no answers to my issues, but they did pay for half of my vet bill. I would be very very leery of leaving my animal with them. At the very least carefully look over your animals before you leave. Also, make sure that you have a phone number where they can actually be reached if that's possible read more

I have had two kittens spayed with them and it was excellent and without issues. I arrived early in the morning once at Cleveland and the other time in Jackson County. There was an orderly queue and you drove around and dropped off your pet. It's the same routine for the pickup. The people who worked at both of the locations were very friendly and always explained the process to me, what medications I was being sent home with, and what the follow-up care was. This is a wonderful and caring group of people trying to help pet owners and the pets of Georgia through discounted pricing on neutering and medications. The pricing is on the website and prepayments must be made to secure your spot. I'm not sure why people are saying terrible things about this organization, but I never had any issues with them or their services. I'm not sure if management has changed over the last 4 years but I took my first dog to the gilmer location and it was great. Today, I brought my 1 year old pup to get neutered. I pick him up and they tell me that "they know they gave me my leash back when I dropped him off" even after telling them I did not have it. I told them I left without a leash but she was quite sure she gave it back to me. She seemed to give me a little attitude but whatever. 2 minutes later she shows up with the leash she was "sure she gave back to me". Then I get home, come to find out my dog had pooped and stepped all in it. I mean it was CAKED on his paws. So now I'm having to scrub this poop off his feet while my poor baby can barely even stand up. I mean that is ridiculous. read more

I have called and left numerous voicemail messages over the last 2 weeks with no response. Your website states that all calls will be returned M - F between 9a and 3pm. I have sent several emails and received no response. Your website states that email is the fastest way to reach you and get a response. This is not true. I paid the deposit and then couldn't get anyone to call or respond to my emails. I paid the fee when I picked up my pet but received NO PROOF of neutering or vaccinations except a "rabies tag". TERRIBLE DO NOT USE. I had my boy cat neutered by this company last December in Gilmer County. Today I took him to the vet to find out why he was spraying around the house. Turns out HE IS NOT NEUTERED. This company failed the assignment and didn't do what they were contracted to do. They don't respond to calls or messages. Not only do I have the expense of having a professionally done neuter ($200+) but hundreds in home furnishings that need to be replaced because the cat spray smell cannot be removed. It's sad when veterinary doctors don't have the ethics or scruples to do the right thing, but I guess if you are operating a neuter van you're probably the bottom of the barrel if you are licensed at all. DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMAL HERE!!! Took my dog here to get neutered. After a week surgical glue had come undone. Took him to another vet and was told they essentially botched the surgery. Had to get his whole scrotum removed due to the abscess that had formed from their awful job. And to make it worse they don't care at all. Don't respond to calls and have terrible customer service. I've never written a good or bad review in my life so please just save yourself the time and money and go elsewhere. read more

We had used this service a few times in the past but not sure if they changed management or who runs it but it's went totally downhill. I would not even take an animal I didn't like to them much less one I love. I would love to get the chance to treat the old hag who I dealt with the way they handle my male cat. I think she might have an issue against males because based on her looks she's not had a male with eyesight give a look at her without throwing up a little in their mouth. Just make an appointment to your regular vet, it might cost more but it will be worth it . This is a quack outfit. Maybe at a time years ago they were decent but that time has long past. So far I have had an awful experience. My original appointment was rescheduled after the site fell through, alright that's understandable. We were told that a date would be reschedule. Never once was I contacted to see what date would work, no instead I received a message barely 2 days before the appointment telling me what day. I have work this day, which is very inconvenient to have the appointment scheduled on. On top of that, they still haven't sent the new address out and my appointment is supposed to be in the morning. I've tried getting in contact multiple times, both through email and text, but have never reached them. Very disappointed as I know people who had alright experiences here. read more

THE MOST INEPT BUNCH OF CLOWNS ON THE PLANET. We took our kitten in to be spayed and get her shots at the Dahlonega location. We paid our deposit weeks ago. My husband drove from Suches to Dahlonega this morning, arrived precisely on schedule, dropped off Boots and went to work in Dawsonville. While dropping her off and handing in the paperwork, he was informed by a not-too-pleasant employee that their credit card machine was not working. The $80 spay fee rapidly turned into over $200 and everyone had to use cash or cheques. He took MORE time off and ran to the bank. The not-too-pleasant one told him to pick Boots up at 2:30 this afternoon. Poor little Boots was in her carrier and hadn't had food or water since around eight last night, per their instructions. My husband arrived early to pick her up. If she was ready fine, if not he could have his lunch while waiting. He went inside to pay our bill and pick up little Boots. That's when all holy hell broke loose. They hadn't "gotten around" to her. Their lame ass excuse....the vet had to leave early for something and didn't even look at our kitten. They didn't offer her food or water. They just crammed her in a corner and forgot about her. AND THE SORRY BUNCH OF UNPROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES DIDN'T BOTHER TO CONTACT US AND LET US KNOW. They claim their going to refund our deposit. But, I wouldn't trust that bunch to take a funnel and stick their thumbs.....well....anyway. Hubby is taking little Boots back to his office and getting her cleaned up, some much needed food and water and reassuring her that not all humans are that inept, disorganized and border line cruel. read more

Major hassles with this company, who were anything but professional. No clear pricing anywhere on the website and you end up with spending much more than anticipated, much more than our own vet quoted, so it's not "low cost" at all by the end of it. You only really see the pricing after you commit to a non-refundable $51 on a sheet that has to be immediately signed and turned in. Website is completely ambiguous and they don't respond to inquiries, which I submitted and emailed numerous times over the two weeks prior. They also don't answer or return phone calls. The entire ordeal felt shady and while waiting almost an hour in line in my car for our kitten's pickup (where I was only eighth in line), I read a number of the most recent reviews after the business changed hands. I was pretty horrified and let them know I had major concerns about that, and also that I'm now worried about the health of my kitten after neutering. A neutering and a chip ended up being over $200, which included required items like a collar, which I didn't need or wanted, since I already had one. They refused to deduct the $20 for that. The other required meds were over the top as well. They claimed other places did this for $500-600, which is completely wrong. They were going to have the owner come answer my concerns, but she refused to come over to discuss. And even though they said they are well aware of the bad feedback on Yelp, they refuse to claim their business to address any concerns here either. I'd avoid this shady outfit and just take your cat to Community Cat on the East side of i575 on Hwy 92 next to the Walmart on the left. I had an appointment scheduled originally for 11/15/22, then I received an email a week later that it was being rescheduled to 11/29/22. I never received a confirmation of my scheduled time slot, never received instructions, never received anything except for 3 automated emails from CatSnip with my request stating all drop off times are 7 AM SHARP (but then said may vary), then one with my confirmed appointment date, then a final email where they changed my appointment date. I never received the address; I was able to find that on the website last minute, but that should have been sent prior to my appointment along with instructions. I arrived at the drop off site on 11/29/22 at 7 AM SHARP, per the only time I received via email, and no one was there. The gate at the shelter was locked. I waited until 7:45 AM & still no one showed. After 30 minutes of fighting with the website, I finally found the pet portal & was then able to see I was "assigned a time slot" and was set to arrive at 9:15 AM. Again, this was never relayed to me, just updated in a patient portal that no one knows about. I then had a family member take my cat later that morning because I had scheduled my meetings around a 7 AM drop off time. She arrived at the drop off location at 9 AM for our 9:15 AM drop off & again no one was there. She went inside & spoke to the employees at the Animal Shelter & was advised the appointments would again have to be rescheduled because of "car trouble". They also advised that drop off was in fact at 7 AM... so car trouble that "just happened" at 9 AM had nothing to do with no one being there at 7 AM like they should have been. I emailed 3 times that same day explaining everything & requesting my deposit to be refunded. The only response I received was from Vickie that they had no one on their schedule with my last name. Luckily I had kept screenshots of where I paid my deposit & all of the confirmation emails. I sent those to Vickie & never got a response. For a week I emailed repeatedly & called & no one would respond. I then had to dispute the charge with my bank & send all the screenshots to the bank. After weeks & after reporting with my bank, I received an automated email that I was receiving a refund from Catsnip. I still have not heard back from them directly, no explanation or apology or anything. I ended up having to take my kitten to my regular vet office, paying double, and at this point he already began spraying because they drug this out for so long. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Just go to your regular vet; I promise it's worth paying a little more to avoid the hassle & attempted scam. read more

These guys do good work. I've been using Project Catsnip for going on 15+ years. What I love about them is they are a low cost, no frills kind of place. They're always 40-60% cheaper than what your vet charges for the same service.They are a non profit and so when they spay and neuter an animal they do it for as low as they can because they know there are already too many strays that are out there in shelters. I have been fixing strays in my neighborhood for over 16 years and I always go to these guys whenever I can. The process is easy. 1. go online and find out when they will be in your county 2. make a reservation online 3. if you have a stray you have to trap then let them know when you fill out the form. they will accommodate you... 4. follow the instructions that they give you on what to do with the cat the night before surgery That is it. Easy. and cheap. The staff is highly trained and very professional. I've never had any problems with them at all. In fact a few years ago a pregnant cat was dumped in my neighborhood and I called PCS right away. They were able to accommodate me almost immediately. I cannot say enough good things about what PCS does and I support them every chance I get and I hope that you will too! read more

I love this organization. I took my granddaughter's cat Luna to get her spayed. They were so kind and genuine in their care of her. I felt totally peaceful to leave her there. We had a very nice experience. I found it easy to talk to the staff, and they were flexible with the deposit when we had to reschedule because we had some challenges catching our outside feral cat Cookie. Mark was very helpful on the phone, and the on site staff were very organized and professional. We found out that Cookie, who is recovering nicely by the way, has a sibling, so we will be back to see you guys again soon hopefully! I recently had my cats neutered last Saturday and am apalled at the way my cats symptoms after surgery were handled. I spoke with Renee the owner and the new manager Vickie and each of them yelled and tried to blame everyone but themselves for the complications after surgery. On the post op instructions it states to call the emergency line up to 2 weeks following surgery if continual care is needed, which i did , but when i did I was met with a defensive , combative unprofessional owner who made me feel I was in the wrong for not taking my cats sooner to the hospital for vomiting. Renee scared me into thinking if I didnt take them to the hospital right away they would go into liver and kidney failure and could die after 2 days of vomiting. When i saw the hospitals doctor he stated that the vomiting could have come from the morphine or anasethia because vomiting is a side effect of morphine but that they were stable enough to see the vet the mobile bus supposedly cat snip has on board. Renee the owner didn't want to take responsibility for the medicine or complications so she made me take it elsewhere to have me incur the charges and take the responsibility off of them . I was told today they have gotten lawyers over 500 dollars i incurred and I stated that they should compensate me for these charges because they told me to go to a hospital instead of handling the situation themselves. I found out through vickie the manager the mobile bus has changed hands and alot of staff have left. These ppl neuter and spay 40 cats in 6 to 7 hours and expect nothing to happen which is ridiculous. This is a pet mill who is out for money and blood if you cross them for doing anything wrong. They even put the same name on both medicine bags when they clearly are 2 separate cats. I now have to figure how to move forward because the owner refuses to call me back but I would advise everyone to choose carefully before you chose this place. They do not care and told me to gladly tell the vet board and try and push them . Very unprofessional especially since I work in surgery myself and could not imagine treating a patient like this at my office!!!! If they did nothing wrong why the lawyers so quickly? Update I just received a call from vickie the manager at 1:45pm today 7/8/2021 threatening me saying i had 2 seconds to remove her name because she was married to a lawyer. I have been a client of Project CatSnip since its beginning many years ago. This is a mobile vet clinic that goes to many counties outside the City of Atlanta. Their purpose has always been to make spaying and neutering easily available and affordable to all, which will reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens taken to Animal Control. They have now expanded to include vaccine clinics on the same days as the spay/neuter clinics, which is very convenient since there is no appointment needed. Dr. Tammy makes the tiniest spay incisions I've ever seen and they heal quickly. I've brought many rescue cats and kittens to this clinic over the years and have not yet had any complications or bad experiences. I would definitely recommend Project CatSnip to anyone who asks. read more
