I had Dr. Cribb neuter my cat a few years ago. My cat did very well and came home and didn't miss a beat. I could tell he was a good surgeon, smart and scientifically minded. Currently, I had to have another cat that was elderly put down. She became ill and his office helped with guidance for almost a year. She either had cancer or an auto immune disease. He helped me decide how much testing to do if any due to her advanced age and current condition. (We decided not to do any.) He was honest and fair. He didn't take advantage of my love for my kitty. When I decided to put her down, she went peacefully and quickly. He did things to help her stay comfortable and he knew that I was having a hard time. He spent a lot of time with me. He was respectful. He knew when to lighten the moment for me and when to be serious. He made the sad situation bearable. I could tell he had much experience with this and my cat and I were in good hands. read more

This is our new vet. After we were unable to take our dog to be euthanized because our "normal" vet was not opening until 11am, we looked around for someone open. I am so glad we did. The compassion and understanding shown by Dr. Cribb and his staff was amazing. As you see in human medical care and now veterinary care, most vet clinics have become very "corporate". Everything seems to come off a rate card, and there are extra fees for every possible thing. Not so here. This is a human, who is caring for the beloved pets of other humans. We will be using Dr. Cribb's clinic and services from now on for all of our remaining pets. read more

Dr Cribb and team were accommodating to my last minute emergencies with my late cat Porch Kitty. They were able to squeeze him in, complete his tooth surgery and keep me informed every step of the way. We were briefed on any potential issues and never had any reason for doubt through the whole process. Unfortunately, Porch Kitty didn't make it due to a pre-diagnosed heart murmur + liver failure. Dr Cribb went above and beyond to try to help sustain life. When we realized our cat was beyond repair, the empathy and sensitivity that Dr Cribb and his whole staff showed was beyond compare. This review is not to bash this Vet Clinic, or this Veterinarian. I will admit that there are probably a lot of VCC clients who are very happy with the service provided to them. My wife had been bringing her pets to this clinic for 15 years and was one of the very first patients of the clinic. This review is based on OUR latest experience and ONLY OUR latest experience. This review is also based on "FACTS", which are Un-Disputable #FACT - My wife brought our 4 year old 4lb Yorkie named Lucy to Veterinary Care Center because she had a broken tooth and a COUPLE of other teeth that my wife felt needed to be checked out as well #FACT - Upon arriving with Lucy my wife asked to speak with the Vet and was told "He's still asleep" #FACT - My wife pointed out the tooth she was concerned with as well as 2 others that she thought felt loose to her. She said she would let the Vet decide whether or not they needed to be extracted. #FACT - My wife was asked if she wanted the Vet to contact her Prior to the procedure being done #FACT - My wife said "No. I know Lucy needs a couple of extractions and I trust him". - There was no reason for my wife NOT to trust him because she was one of his first patients when he opened his practice over 15 years ago and we never had any concerns in the past #FACT - My wife was told that Lucy would probably be taken care of around 12pm #FACT - When my wife called back to see if they were finished she was told they were just taking her back for her procedure. This was at 1pm #FACT - My wife received a call a short time later and was told Lucy would be ready at 4:30pm. My wife asked how many teeth ended up being pulled #FACT - She was told that the Vet pulled 13 teeth! Including ALL of the lower front and ALL BUT 2 of the upper front, from canine to canine! #FACT - My wife became extremely upset and the staff member she spoke to on the phone said "I would be mad if he took out 13 of my dogs teeth and didn't call me either" #FACT - My wife asked to speak to the Vet at that time and was told "He's gone to lunch" #FACT - My wife then asked how much our bill was and was told "I don't know. He hasn't given me the charges". My wife said "You better call him and have something ready when I get there because I'm coming now!" She was then told "He won't be back for a while" #FACT - Upon arrival my wife was extremely upset and told them she did not want to see the Vet and asked for ALL of our active Pet's records #FACT - My wife was then given our bill, which was for $570.00 (she was told that she wasn't being charged for all 13 extractions). This bill was paid in full by my wife at that time. My wife asked where the charges for pain meds were and she was told "She shouldn't need any pain meds. We gave her a pain shot. She should be fine tomorrow" #FACT - Our dog was NOT placed on any Antibiotics by the Vet. - (You would THINK if a dog's mouth was so bad that 13 TEETH had to be pulled that it would mean she would need to be on some sort of Antibiotics, wouldn't you?) #FACT - Our dog was NOT prescribed any pain medication. - (You would also think that a 4lb dog that just had 13 TEETH PULLED would PROBABLY require some sort of pain medication, wouldn't you?) #FACT - NO X-rays were performed to determine if these teeth actually NEEDED to be extracted #FACT - My wife consulted 2 separate Vets and both have stated that X-rays would need to done to ACURATELY determine if indeed these teeth needed to be pulled. - #OPINION - Is it possible that her teeth were SO bad that in fact it could be determined that they needed to be pulled without x-rays? Absolutely. But if they were THAT bad there would have been signs of that in her gums and antibiotics would have been required #FACT - Both Vets consulted stated that pain medications should have been prescribed #FACT - My dog began passing blood not long after these teeth were pulled #FACT - My wife placed our dog under the care of one of the 2 Vets she consulted #FACT - Our new Vet stated that he could see no recession of the gums or deterioration that would signify that her teeth needed to be pulled #FACT - Our new Vet diagnosed our dog with TRAUMA INDUCED COLITIS! #FACT - Our new Vet placed our dog on Antibiotics #FACT - Our new Vet placed our dog on pain medications #FACT - Our new Vet stated that our dog was TOO SMALL and Young for such a large amount of teeth to be pulled at one time! #FACT - My wife started to go over all of our pet's records that were given to her and she found, instead of our pet's medical records, what she was actually given was our previous BILLS and NOT their actual medical records #FACT - My wife contacted the State Boards and filed a complaint about our former Vet AFTER consulting with the 2 other Vets #FACT - The Vet stated that a "BIG PART" of why my wife was upset is because of the bill she had to pay #FACT - We have spent THOUSAND on procedures the Vet felt were necessary We are now questioning EVERY decision ever made here! read more

After finding no answers with 2 other vets, I was looking for someone very experienced who was going to give me options without sugar coating the diagnosis with my pet. Dr Cribb's staff are very compassionate and accommodating, and he is very thorough and experienced in general vet practice as well as the benefits he has with training in specialized vet areas. After taking my cat to another clinic and having 2 overnight stays, 2 xrays, an ER visits, Chinese herbal meds, and antibiotics. My cat still had urinary issues...I finally decided to cease treatment with that clinic and found Dr. Cribb. Even after clinic hours, the staff called me back and were able to get my cat in the next morning. At the visit, it took less than 1 hr to take a thorough medical history, and he already had two possible diagnoses. Already better than the other clinic. My cat loved him and he described his personality EXACTLY. It was such a relief to have found this clinic. My cat has been symptom free and doing much better. The price was a fraction of what i paid at the other practice, and my cat is better!!! I was well informed of everything and barely had any questions because he was so thorough. They inform you of costs prior to performing anything. They did a urinalysis in minutes and overall I spent less than 5 mins away from my cat instead of days. Absolutely will recommend this place to family and friends. I couldn't be happier with how professional everyone was from the front staff, to the tech and the vet. Superior service!! read more

We've been taking our pets to Dr. Cribb for over 9-10 yrs. His thorough knowledge combined with his genuine concern and care is evident with every visit. I can't begin to count the amount of times we've visited his practice with all of our pets for well check-ups and vaccines thru the years. Just last week, one of our beloved pets (16 yo, Lucy) was fading fast. Being the most-dreaded moment for any animal-lover, we contacted Dr Cribb. He had everything ready for our Lucy, by the time we arrived. His caring staff was great with Lucy, as well as empathetic with us. Dr. Cribb handled one of the most difficult moments very gently and with such grace, it actually left us at peace knowing our angel was resting peacefully. Hard to understand any negative review, but to each his own. As a serious pet person of over 50 years (german shepherds, cats) I can absolutely recommend Dr. Cribb to anyone. If you want a showy, expensive, let's perform all tests regardless of whether they will show a result we can do something about, by all means, go somewhere else. Dr. Cribb is always there, on time, for your appointment. He is extremely compassionate, and will literally sit on the floor to commune with your dog. He works with you to make the best decisions for your pet's current state of health. He is knowledgeable and direct with heart, but without unnecessary fanfare. He is a vet for true animal people. We also find his pricing to be much more reasonable than anywhere we have been. His staff is friendly, and you can generally get in to see him when you need to. After having been to many vets in the area, Dr. Cribb is now our forever vet. read more

After leaving our vet of many years due to a massive decrease in parking (through no fault of their own), we researched, visited various veterinarians in Cherokee County, then chose Dr. Cribb at Veterinary Care Center in Canton. We are so glad we did, too, as he and the staff are wonderful "from soup to nuts." Not only is Dr. Cribb extremely knowledgeable about addressing the medical needs of our pets, but He is also very caring, thorough, and professional, as is his staff, who all have extensive experience in the field of veterinary care, and so can also speak to many challenges of pets, both medical and behavioral. Dr. Cribb is a cold person who lacks emotional empathy and to me is not a good Vet. He has a huge EGO and puts animals down by HIS rules not concerned about the owners or the animal itself. It is his way - and only his way. You cannot hold your beloved pet - the Tech does. Really? I want to hold my beloved dog at that moment to comfort her/him. What about putting an IV in to sedate the dog. No - this wonderful Vet does not do that. He feels he is a good "STICK" and will get the vein first shot. That is not what occurred in my experience. Mr. Macho missed the vein twice, and my 13 year old blind dog screamed out in pain. Then I confronted Dr. Cribb and told him I am leaving to go to a place that does this the proper way. He told me "he did not appreciate what I said because "HE IS THE PROFESSIONAL". Wow - what an awful experience. I left, and took my dog to a place across town who handled this delicate situation with care, respect and understanding. read more

Competent, but with 30 years of pet ownership experience his rates are sky high. He seems to want to work less and charge more. He also seems very revenue producing oriented, rather than customer value oriented. Won't get into details, but some of his charges are outrageous and almost insulting to long term customers. read more

I have taken Samson to Vet Care since he was 6 weeks old, he has always had excellent care. Last year when he was 11, he was feeling very sick, he lost weight, was lackadaisical and in general a miserable dog. Dr. Cribb had several test done and a tumor was found in his intestines. They did surgery and, I think, saved his life. He is a changed dog and very happy, he acts 2 rather than going on 12. read more

Unhappy Customer, 5/19/2016 I brought my beloved 13 1/2 dog who battled diabetes for 2 1/2 years in today 5/19/16 as her time had come to leave this world. For over 2 1/2 years she gotten insulin injections twice daily. I asked for a peaceful passing and sedative. Dr. Cribb told me he did not put a IV catheter in the vein - did not need to waste the time. He was a good at getting in the vein - most of the time". He proceed to stick my precious dog with a large needle in her leg and she screamed in pain. He did not get the vein. Then again as my dog was NOT sedated he attempted again missing the vein x2. My dog screamed again. That is when I said, "what are you doing?" Dr. Cribb then told me I could get a refund and he was a PROFESSIONAL and did not appreciated being insulted. Can you imagine going through an experience like this? This is a very UNPROFESSIONAL man with a big macho ego and short fuse - shame on you for not knowing how to be compassionate and not euthanizing a dog the proper way. I left and went to Acres Mill Vet who were Professional, compassionate, put an IV in, gave my dog a sedative and a peaceful end. Thank you so much for being there for us doing the RIGHT thing. read more
